Fallout new vegas > Fallout 4

Though, I will give fallout 4 some credit, the idea of the Powered armor being a vehicle of sorts worked better than I thought it would.

Just, they needed a way to Summon your powered armor and dismiss it, so you could equip it when you were about to raid a big encampment, and then have it taken back to base afterwards.

Like, have the smoke grenade summon a vertibird that aerial drops your powered armor into the field, and then a special flair gun that causes the armor to be Picked up by an electro magnet on the vertibird and taken back to your base when you're done.

They don't. They pretend to hate her because a lot of dashfags are easily triggered. The only ones that actually hate her are meming fans of the fandom, and they're a small minority.

There's like 4 rainbow dash threads up, can't you fags knock it off?
You don't see Us fluttershy fans shitting up the board with autistic "Dur hur hur Fluttershy!" threads, or the Applejack fans doing that.

And the Rainbow Dash meme thread... Are you talking about the IWTCIRD thread? Those have always been around since the birth of this board and are for nothing but shitposting. This thread is actually meant for posting, discussing, and writing green about Rainbow Dash.

Neat. Here, have a data point from the survey thus far: Dashfags far and away were the most loyal to their chosen pony, with an overwhelming supermajority stating that they clopped to Dash the most.

Repost GO!

>Day waiting forever in Equestria.
>You and Dash are finally getting around to getting tickets for the opening session of the Wonderbolts aerial show season.
>And god damn you didn't know the line would be this long.
>You hear a small gasp from Rainbow next to you as you come over a hill and see a long line for all non-Cloudsdale residents, snaking to and fro.
>This is worse than getting opening day tickets back home.
"Told you that this was a good idea," you say as you pat the tent and other sleeping supplies.
>"This is like, worse than Cider season!" she yells with followed by a small groan as the two of you work your way to the line.
>Looking up, you can see the hustle and bustle of the busy city in the sky, the shadow cast by it covering the entire line plus a bit further.
>Taking off the backpack, you take a seat on the grass and pat for her to take a seat next to you.
"No point in wasting energy and fluttering in the air there when the line won't even start moving till tomorrow."
>You lean into the backpack, happy to have it off of your shoulders and dragging you down.
>With another nod to your side, Dash let's out a small 'feh' and lands next to you.
>"I swear, you're lazier than me!"
>You wave a hand to shoo her comment away.
"Whatever you say. You weren't the one carrying this giant thing."
>You close your eyes and hear her lean back into the backpack as well,
>The two of you sit there for a while like that, just enjoying the slightly cool air and the occasional light breeze.
>>
>>27524500

>You open your eyes again and see a lot more movement above you.
>A quick check of your watch and it's easy to figure out, everyone's on their way home, another day of menial labor over.
"So Dash, what's Cloudsdale like?"
>Seeing as how you don't have any way of getting there, the best you can get is someone else's point of view.
>"Hhhmmm. For the most part, it's like Ponyville. I mean other than the obvious clouds everywhere and only Pegasi, they're pretty close."
>She pauses for a second thinking of how to describe the architecture.
>"Can't even begin to describe the architecture though. That'd be better for that bookworm Twi to tell you."
"Well, what about your life up there before you came to Ponyville?"
>You swear you can feel her stiffen up at that question.
>"Well, ehehe, I guess I kinda was ahead of everyone and everyone was jealous of my talents. I had a few friends, like Fluttershy and Gilda, but that was kinda it."
>You reach out to place a hand on her shoulder, hoping to help her regain some of that confidence that is normally so prevalent in her voice, but she just sprang up to avoid it.
>"Hey, how about we set up the tent and stuff?" she says attempting to change the subject.
>You shift to sit fully up as well.
"Sure, getting a little hungry anyways. You think you can find us some firewood and a rain cloud?"
>"Pffff, easy peasy Anon," she turns and readies herself to take off.
>"Better have that tent up and ready by the time I get back!" she calls back over her shoulder as she takes off.
'Time to get to work' you think to yourself as you begin unpacking the bag.
>>
>>27524505

>The sun is already setting by the time Dash gets back.
"If you took any longer, you probably wouldn't have made it back in time to get tickets," you jokingly say.
>"Yeah? Let's see you try and tote all this around," she says as the kindling slides off her back and she shoves a rain cloud at you.
>Instinctively, you life up your hands to stop it from flying into you, but it just floats right around you.
>Of course, Dash starts laughing hysterically at you.
>"Hehehe! Oh my gosh Anon!" she cries from the spot she's practically rolling in.
"Yeah, yeah. Whatever..."
>Picking up the kindling, you drop them into the small pit you managed to make and pull out something important to you.
>One of the few things you had left from when you came into this world.
>Your bic lighter.
>Grabbing a few handfulls of grass, you place it under and in the cracks of the kindling and light a few spots, the grass catching quickly and spreading to the small kindling.
"There we go," you say triumphantly standing in front of your work.
>"What's this for?" Dash asks from your side patting the rain cloud.
>You give her a small smile as you pull out another thing from your world.
>A bag of instant ramen.
>With another quick motion, a pot appears in your other hand.
"We're makin' some Ramen!"
>The confusion on her face is almost funny if it wasn't for the fact that she really shouldn't know what it is.
"It's a processed food full of salty goodness from back on Earth," you say with a smile.
>"S-Salt?" her confusion fades into almost horror as she looks at the small package in your hand.
>>
>>27524513

"Yep, all that processed goodness. Here, catch," you toss her the pot.
>She snaps out of her almost daze as she freaks out and almost drops the pot.
"Just fill it up with the rain water, k?"
>She nods to you, her wide eyes still fixed on the bag.
"Yo, Dash, snap out of it!"
>"Oh, uh sorry Anon..." she says giving her head a shake before hitting the cloud.
>With a few taps, the cloud begins pouring water into the small pot.
"So what's up with you and that zoning a minute ago," you ask as she sits down next to you.
>"Oh, nothing really," she replies eyeing up the package again while handing you the water.
>You set it on the fire and turn back to Dash, setting the Ramen on the ground.
"Something with you and salt?"
>She fidgets slightly in her spot, biting her lip.
>"Well, it might be kinda illegal for ponies to consume salt," a sheepish grin comes over her face.
>What...
>You look at her astonished.
"What?"
>The sound of a hoof rubbing slowly back and forth in the grass can be heard.
>"It might be a little addictive, hehe..."
>You start to laugh at her a little.
"Really?"
>You quickly feel a hoof slam into your side.
>"Shut up, it's not funny. It's pretty serious Anon. And it's not just me, it's everypony. I wouldn't go flaunting that stuff."
>You hold the package up, waving it a little.
"So, I could go to jail for this?"
>She looks around to see if anyone has heard the two of you talking.
>"Yeah, if they know what it is..."
>You give her a smile.
"Good thing no ones got a fucking clue then, huh?"
>She just gives you a little nod.
>>
>>27524517

>The water starts boiling over the pot, so you grab a small towel and grab the handle, moving it off to the side of the fire.
>Opening the packet, you dump the brick into the water and grab a fork from the pack and begin stirring.
>Dash stays quite, watching you intently as you stir away, checking your watch every minute or so for timing.
>Once you judge it good enough, you pour the packet in and give it a little more stirring and pull it away from the fire, setting it where you pulled the grass out.
"Just gotta wait a minute for it to cool..."
>"So what was that packet stuff?"
>You rub your chin a little.
"Just a lot of salt and other preservatives. You know, unhealthy stuff."
>You see her lick her lips in anticipation.
>One last stir and you bring a fork full to your mouth, the salty, somewhat chicken-ey taste kicking your toned down tastebuds.
>The food here really ruined your taste.
>Sticking the utensil back in, you pull out the fork, filled with more ramen.
"Well, you going to go for it?"
>She shuffles a little in her spot, obviously nervous.
"Dash afraid of a little salt, hell anything?" you say, taunting her.
>"You asked for it Anon..." she says edging close to the fork.
>With a quick motion, she bobs in and snags the ramen off the fork.
>Watching, you see her face of doubt and light fear flip to enjoyment as the ramen moves around her mouth, her tongue making sure it gets full taste of what you've given her.
"So?" you ask looking at her.
>In an instant, she's on the pot, noshing away on the food, forgoing any formalities with silverware.
>Shit, what did you get yourself into?
>>
>>27524522

v"Hey Dash! Equestria to Dash!"
>You move closer to her going nuts on the ramen.
"You in there girl?"
>Her head shoots up, her movements slightly more jerky than before.
>"Oh yeah! Yeah yeah! What's up Anon?"
>Maybe you shouldn't have given her some.
"How are ya feeling?" you ask cautiously.
>"Pretty good Anon, pretty good," she says with a huge smile on her face, twitching slightly with a bit of noodle still on her maw.
>You move forward and pluck it off.
"Well, there goes my dinner..."
>She looks at you and back to the pot then back to you.
>"Oh, uh sorry... But you have more, right?"
>You shake you head in disappointment.
>"Oh... Sorry..."
>You chuckle a little.
"It's all good, could use a little bit of a diet," you say as you pat your stomach.
>Jeeze, she's just freaking out.
"So, what's it like."
>"Great! It's been so long since I've had that much salt," her tongue slithers out to lick a little of the salt from her lips.
>"I mean, we get a little here and there, but that amount! So good!" she continues with a little shudder.
>"So humans have salt around all the time?"
>You nod in response.
"Yeah, it's in a lot of our foods. Keeps them preserved so we can store them without them rotting or spoiling."
>She closes her eyes to just imagine what you're telling her.
>"Oh man! I couldn't even begin to imagine that!"
"Hell we even sweat out tons of salt."
>Her eyes shoot open.
>"Wait, what?"
"Come to think of it, don't ponies sweat too? How do they stop you from getting all freaky with that?"
>"Well, yeah, but the fur on us keeps it kinda contained."
>You run a hand over her side, never really realizing the fur there before.
"Guess you learn something new every day, huh?"
>She looks at your arm and back to you.
>"Oh yeah, totally!"
>You slump back down next to the fire, stretching slightly and relaxing.
>Looking at Dash, she can't seem to sit still.
>"Hey uh Anon, want to go for a run? It might help to, you know, get rid of the salt in my system."
>>
>>27524530

>Damnit Dash, why the hell did you let her do this.
>All you wanted to do was relax and hang out with your bro.
>Now you have to worry about her being too loud and out of it, drawing attention to the two of you.
>Fuck.
"Alright, lets do it."
>You bounce up onto your feet, doing small hops to get your joints stretched a little.
"No wings, right?"
>She nods as she begins to stretch as well.
>Nodding at the tent and fire, you look back at Dash.
"Think anyone will mess with our stuff?"
>She shakes her head at you.
>"Nah."
>With that, the two of you start your jog, Dash poking fun at how slow you are, getting you to try and beat her.
>But you can never beat her.
>By the time you get back to the campsite, you're sweating like crazy and out of breath.
>So is Dash, huffing and puffing.
>"Dang Anon, didn't thing you could keep up with me..."
>You shake your head.
"Not as slow as I was before I came to Equestria."
>You fall to your ass next to your tent, leaning back into you.
>Looking over at Dash, you see her stumble, her tongue out.
>And something wet against your skin.
>You pull away quickly, but not quick enough before Dash runs her tongue up your arm a little.
>Kinda ticklish.
"What the fuck Dash!"
>"Oh, sorry Anon. Must have been a little too much for me on the salt."
>She crashes next to you, huffing and puffing.
>"Wheh, too much work. How'd I let you talk me into running?"
>God damnit...
"Yeah? I totally said we should go on that run? I forgot."
>Her cracking laughs fill the air.
>"Well, at least we won't have trouble falling asleep, right?"
>You take a quick look at your watch and see it's almost 11:30,
"Yeah, I guess. We should probably be hitting the hay soon though."
>>
>>27524540

>She gets up once more, stretching again.
>"Good call, good call. Gotta be up nice and early to make sure no one cuts us in line."
>Nodding, you grab out some toothpaste and your brushes, handing her hers.
>The two of you do your nightly routines before slipping into your sleeping bags.
>"Night Anon..."
>You turn to your side.
"Night Dash."
>You slowly doze off as you hear her beginning to snore.
>>
>>27524546

>And then you're awake.
>Your eyes open up and try to adjust to the darkness.
>Fuck, why are you up right now?
>And then you feel something warm and wet running along your arm, up to your shoulder.
>What the fuck is going on?!
>Listening without making movement to figure out what it was, you hear a little grunt and feel a small pressure on your side.
>What the fuck!
>Shifting your head ever so slightly as the wet thing starts another trail along your arm in a different spot, you look up and behind you, a dark blob on top of your side.
>Ok, fuck this shit.
>You fling yourself up and out of your sleeping bag, sending whatever it was flying off to the side.
"HEY DASH! We got a situation here!" you scream and whisper at the same time as you fling yourself back to the side of the tent.
>The dark pony shaped blob moves towards you.
>As your eyes get more adjusted, the figure comes into clearer terms and you see a multicolored mane.
>"Oh, I know Anon..." Dash replies in a sultry tone as she advances closer to you.
"Come on Dash, it's just the salt talking," you say with a light chuckle.
>She's practically on top of you.
>"Hmmm, I dunno about that Anon..."
>She gives your chest a light kiss and moves in for a full lick across.
>You can hear her smack her lips against the insides of her cheeks.
>"Hmmmmm,..."
>She presses herself on you, her lips coming to meet yours.
>God, you're body is betraying you right now.
>She runs a hoof along the girth of you, her lips parting from yours, giving you a
>"See Anon, you're interested in it too."
>Another warm and wet lick to form an x along your chest in saliva.
>Damnit, this shouldn't be this good.
>But really, can you deny yourself that you haven't checked out Dash?
>Man, your mind is all over the place right now.
>>
>>27524551

"D-Dash, can we talk about this in the morning?"
>You try to push her off a little.
"Maybe when the salt has really gone through your system..."
>She pauses half way through another lick from your waist upward and pulls back.
>"Hmmmm? I'd say my minds pretty clear right now."
>She continues her trail where she left off.
>You fidget again a little, trying to escape her grasp.
"Please Dash, I don't want you or me to do anything we might regret. Please...."
>She slightly snaps out of her trance and pulls her head up, her Violet eyes meeting yours.
>"Y-Yeah, alright..."
>She nods a little.
>She backs off a little.
>Wow... That could have ended up a lot further than you wanted.
>"Could you at least hold me a little while I ride this out?"
>She gives you a pleading look.
"Are you going to lick me any more?"
>She shakes her head and looks back at you, a certain sadness in her eyes.
>You roll back into your sleeping bag and open up your arms.
>Who would have thought this is where this night would have ended.
>Giving a slight nod, she lays down next to you, scooting backwards up against your chest.
>Bringing your arms around her in a tight hug, you nuzzle into her mane.
>It just feels so right.
"Never giving you that much salt again."
>She gives you a light kick in the leg with her hoof.
"Just messing with you Dashie."

>It was pure chaos.
>The warning sirens blaring in your ears, you run around some cowering engineers as you round the corridor away from the main hall, which was lit in a gloriously ominous bright red light.
>Somewhere behind you, you could hear loud explosions which shook the ship violently as They tore their way into it.
>Each set of explosions was met with fierce gunfire and laser blasts, which seemed to last for a few minutes before dying down.
>You heard screaming ahead as the blast door behind you slams shut and locks as an explosion is heard behind it.
>You stop dead in your tracks as you see a woman go flying past the opening of the hall, slamming into the floor with a sickening series of cracks like a rag doll.
>You feel your heart sink into your stomach.
>Gulping and stifling the urge to scream, you slowly and quietly turn around and start fucking around with the control panel.

>You reach down and grip the handle of your heavy repeater, but before you pull it out. he rushes you, screaming alien war cries of holy war.

>A few things are quickly made apparent upon your waking up.
>1: You are drenched in sweat
>2: So drenched that your sheets are wet
>3: Your heart is racing like you just got back from a fucking race
>It doesn't take you much time to get up and strip your bed of its sheets. Looking over at your night stand you see it's only 2:31 in the morning.
>Christ, couldn't you have woken up atleast somewhere around 7? Or preferably 8?
>Your adrenal gland had quit pumping and now you were just shivering and... Kinda angry.
>Angry because you're tired of this shit.
>You fold up your sheets and throw them into the dryer(Surprisingly, ponies had mastered the fine arts of the dryer at this stage in their technological advancement.)
>You sat down on your couch and laid back down, with the intent of trying to get a little more sleep and deal with your bed in the morning.
>Forty or so minutes pass of you tossing and turning and shivering.
>Shivering.
>It's always the same shiver that happens after you wake up from that dream. It does nothing but take you back to the worst times of your past.
>Times where you were staring into the face of a Kremlin warrior, whose beady orange eyes stared into yours with not only a fierce determination, but also a teeming hatred.
>Their eyes.
>Their FUCKING EYES.
>You shiver.
>It was not uncommon for soldiers in the Mobile Armed Forces to experience this 'shiver'. None of the eggheads back on Earth could figure out what exactly caused the shiver.
>The Kremlin warrior was pretty much the perfect predator to a human. So perfect that some scientists even hypothesized that they WERE the natural predator of the human species.
>Of course that theory never really gained much traction and was shunned alot.
>But it made so much fucking SENSE when you thought about it.
>>
>>27525007
>Too many times you had been hidden, or thought you had escaped one of the warriors, only to turn and find it standing there, staring into your soul, with a terrifyingly sharp toothed evil grin.
>You shiver once more.
>Their wrinkled, scaly, brown skin... Their sharp wolfish ears... Their hook noses...
>Fucking nightmare fuel.
>You shiver yet again, and you don't get up off the couch; you practically vault off it.
>Your heart is beating quickly yet again.
>You look up at the clock and see it's now 3.
>3 in the fucking morning.
>You hear your dryer beep and chirp signaling that its drying cycle was completed, but rather than going and grabbing your sheets, you opt instead to throw a coat and shoes on and head outside into the cold, Equestrian night, pajamas be damned.
>A cool wind blows through the empty streets as you walk lightly through the town; memories of the war long past being blown from your mind along with the wind.
>Your heart rate returned to its normal pace and you felt... Peaceful again.
>This place always did that.
>This town.
>It was so... Peaceful.
>You could not pick a better Heaven even if you tried.
>You stop in your tracks and look up at the beautiful night sky, which was clear of clouds save for a few, and was especially full of twinkling stars tonight.
>Heaven...
>That was what this was after all, was it not?
>The last thing you remembered before waking up here on the ground near the Everfree was that... That beast, sinking its sharp teeth into your jugular vein and staring down at you as you pitifully drowned in your own blood.
>Your heart pace quickened as you shook your head, trying to clear your mind of such memories.
>Fuck Kremlins.
>>
>>27525012
>You look away from the sky with great difficulty, and spy an empty bench infront of a dark store on the other side of the road, and you figure "fuck it" and walk over to it and sitting in it.
>You take a few deep breaths and relax into the bench, staring up at the night sky once again.
>All is quiet as you watch a rather large group of shooting stars tear their way through the skies.
>They kind of remind you of Rejaults. The most badass invention the eggheads on Earth ever made.
>Think of a helicopter propeller. Now think of a helicopter propeller, only spinning at speeds of 1000 miles per hour, and small volleys of mini rockets(500 rockets on each of the four rotary wings) which, with the click of a button, began to fire off in every direction imaginable.
>Highly impracticable and inaccurate of course, but when you launched about a thousand of them in the Kremlin skies, it was quite a spectacular display.
>You also remember a time when you used to journey through the stars. Not in pursuit of Kremlin warbirds, but in the sheer adventure of it...
>You missed those times.
>...
>"Hi."
>Your highly trained reflexes kicked in, and you launched up off the bench, doing some impressive flips away, and you instantly drop into an offensive combat stance facing the direction of the voice.
>Heart beating fast, your blood pumping as you expect to see... You have no idea what you expect to see, maybe a mugger, maybe a Kremlin...
>Uh...
"Oh..."
>You drop out of your combat stance.
"Hello Dash."
>The rainbow maned pony is staring at you with a quizzical look in her eyes.
>"Uh... Hi."
>It is silent for a moment as the two of you awkwardly stare at each other, waiting for one of you to say something.
>Being a man of action rather than of words, you simply walk over to the bench and sit down, and she joins you, seeming to 'float' gracefully into place next to you.
>>
>>27525017
>The only sound in the air is crickets chirping, as you relax back into your chair and look up into the beautiful night sky again.
>"So uh..."
>You look over at Dash, who raises a brow at you. "What'cha doing?"
>You frown.
"Well, I was enjoying some private R&R. You?"
>She ignores your question, instead asking her own
>"R&R?" she repeats, as if its the weirdest thing she's ever heard.
"Yes." You sit up. "Rest and Relaxation."
>"Ah..." She nods her head.
>"That's weird. Why don't you just say "relaxing?"
>You shrug.
"Force of habit I guess."
>"You mean like that weird dancing thing you did just a few minutes ago?"
"That wasn't dancing... That was a reactive military tactic ingrained into me through months of practice."
>...
>"So it was dancing?"
"Dash, why are you here?"
>Now it's her turn to shrug. "I dunno. I'm..." She hesitates for a second, and her eyes look up into the sky thoughtfully for a moment before looking back into yours. "I'm not tired." She replied simply.
>You chuckled, and she glares at you.
>"What?"
"You are a terrible liar." You smile at her, and she glares even more, her wings twitching a little.
>"I- I'm not lying though! I'm serious!"
"Yeah you are... But look, it's ok." You sigh. "You don't gotta tell me anything you don't want to. I didn't mean to get you all flustered."
>"I'm not flustered!" She hops off the bench aggressively.
>You sigh again.
"Look, can we take a minute here to just calm down?" You say, speaking more on behalf of her than yourself of course.
>She takes a few breaths, before seeming to calm down. She takes her seat back next to you.
>Okay...
>So Rainbow Dash is up at like, what, 3:30 in the fucking morning, and then acts really fishy and evasive when asked what she's doing up?
>Hm.
"You alright?"
>She looks over at you, raising a brow.
>"Huh?"
>You shrug.
"Are you alright is what I asked. You seem a bit... Off."
>She is quiet for a moment or two.
>"Yeah, I'm fine... Can we not focus on me right now?"
>>
>>27525019
>Jesus Christ what the fuck? That's really weird.
>From your brief encounters with Rainbow Dash, all she ever WANTED was for focus to be on her.
>Then again out of all of your friends, she was the one you had spoken the least to.
"Uh... Okay?"
>"What about you?" She is quick to change the subject you notice, "What are you doing up so late?"
>The beady, orange eyes of the Kremlin warrior who did you in appear in your minds eye, causing another shiver to travel up your spine, and you hope she doesn't notice.
>She notices.
>"Errr, you cold?"
"No!" You snap, and she raises her hooves defensively.
>"Alright alright, sheesh..."
>It's quiet again.
>You look back up at the sky and try to erase those FUCKING EYES from your head again. But this time, they're there to stay.
>They just sit there in your mind. Staring a hole into your soul. And you can see that fuckers smile.
>God how you would like to go back in time and plug that fuckers mouth with a fresh round of gamma fire...
"God... God damn you..." You mutter angrily, as you zone out and find yourself back in that red, metallic corridor, ship rattling around you.
>"What!?"
>And then the illusion is broken.
>You snap your head over to her, and you expect to see her looking pissed off, but instead you see... Concern?
"Uh.."
>"Dude what was that all about? You just stared up at the sky and you started to go blank on me. I was trying to ask you a question."
"It's nothi-"
>"Don't you "it's nothing" me, mister." She says, like a mother scolding a child. "I want to know what is going on here. I find you out here at 3 in the morning, and then you act all weird and twitchy."
>...
>She glares at you accusingly, and you stare at her in bewilderment.
>You feel like you should be mad.
>But really... You want to tell someone so bad of the problems.
>Of the nightmares.
>Reluctantly, you give in.
"Alright... The truth is..."
>Her ears perk up and she drops her glare and sits up.
>>
>>27525023
"I... I was..."
>You clench your fist.
"I was fuckin' killed, God damn it."
>You felt instant release as you sink into the bench.
>All is quiet for a moment, and you hear Dash shift around in her spot a few times.
>"W... What!?"
"I." You don't open your eyes. "Was killed. Done in. Gonezo."
>"Wh.. But... You're alive right now!"
"I mean before I got here."
>You open your eyes and sit back up.
"Before I got here Dash..." You struggle to try to get out exactly what you want to say, and she waits for you to collect yourself.
"My people... We were in a war. A fight for survival. Against an alien race of... Monsters."
>You say the word "monsters" with venom that would make a rattlesnake blush.
"I was a soldier in my peoples' army. I killed them. We killed them. They killed us... They killed alot of my friends actually. Killed alotta of."
>A look of horror appears on her face, and you back up defensively.
"It was all in self defense." You justify, "They attacked us first. Attacked us in the most cowardly way possible. We didn't even know what hit us and before we knew it or could respond, they killed a million of us. Blew an entire planet up."
>"Those dance moves..." She mumbles.
"Military tactics." You correct her. "Ingrained in me since I first joined the army. Those tactics you saw me do tonight, they were the difference between life and death in alot of situations..."
>She is silent as you continue.
"The war is over for me, Dash. I'm dead. But I still see that one. The one fucker. The one who killed me. He is with me always. I see him in my dreams. I see him when I shut my eyes."
>>
>>27525024
>"Wow..." She gawks, and you shake your head.
>Now she knew.
>She knew you were a killer. Not only that, but you were a TRAINED killer. And you were killed.
>All in a war against lizard men.
>YET ANOTHER(how many has it been now?)long, dreadful silence set in.
>"Gee Anon. I don't know what to say."
>You look over at her, and she... Shakes under your gaze?
>"That's some heavy stuff."
"Yeah." You agree. "Heavy stuff..."
>Dear God in Heaven - ANOTHER SILENCE!
>This one lasts for a good long while, and you think about just getting up and leaving and going home and trying to get some rest.
>"Anon... Can you tell me more? About these 'aliens'?"
"Yes... Or well... No. Not right now. I'd rather just... Not think about it for now."
>"Are you sure? Might make you feel a bit better."
"Is that so?"
>She nods.
"Well why don't you try telling me about what's been bothering you tonight?"
>That got her. And again, you expect her to get mad and defensive but surprisingly, she caves.
>"Alright. I'll only tell you if you tell me more about you."
>You groan.
"Fine. Whatever."
>Might as well. Fuck it. Wouldn't hurt anything anyhow. And besides, she was right, it did feel kind of better to talk about it.
>"The reason I'm awake and here is... Well, I'm lonely."
"That's it?"
>She ignores your rude remark.
>"Well, Twilight has Spike, Fluttershy has her animals, Applejack has her family, Rarity has Sweetiebelle... Everyone of my friends has some family or whatever, but I don't really have anyone."
"Where is your family?"
>"That's another story for another time." She quickly says. "But yeah. I'm lonely. You happy now?"
>You feel like this is some kind of a big confession for her, but again, you still don't know her all that much, so you're not sure.e
"Okaaaayy... So? You're lonely. Everyone gets lonely. I guarantee you that sometimes, Rariy, Applejack, Fluttershy, all of em', sometimes they feel lonely. It's hu... It's just the way things are."
>You almost said human nature.
>>
>>27525026
>For a second, you forgot you were talking to an alien lifeform that looked like a pony.
>Strange thing it is.
>"But I'm Rainbow Dash! The most awesome pony in Equestria! Fastest flier ever! I'm a Wonderbolt even... I am not supposed to get lonely."
"Pfft." You scoff. "I don't care how big of a bad ass you say you are. You're still a person. People get lonely. Or... Ponies get lonely. It doesn't make you less of a pony to feel lonely. It just makes you... A pony."
>She shakes her head. "But..."
"But nothing. It's fine. There's nothing wrong with feeling lonely."
>"You just don't understand..."
"Uh, I'm pretty sure I do. You want loneliness? Try looking up in the sky and thinking about how many of your friends and fellow species are being killed by disgusting fucking monsters while you're stuck in some paradise, lost to time and space, unable to know what is happening or who is winning a war that determines the fate of your races' very existence. Believe me Dash when I tell you - Loneliness is OK to feel. It's natural. Infact..."
>You look into her eyes.
"Admitting that you're lonely. That shows you're better than the others anyway."
>Well, not exactly a great way to spin it, but meh. This seems to make her satisfied.
>"I... Thanks, Anon." She smiles at you.
"No problem. Now if you'll excuse me, it's been fun and all... But I think I'm gonna go back and try to get some sleep-"
>"No!" She is quick to interrupt you, and you look at her confused, and notice a slight blush on her face.
>"I- I mean... You still haven't told me about the aliens. What do they look like?"
>What do they look like?
>You shudder violently.
>>
>>27525028
"They look like demons. Monsters. Giant, big, disgusting, scaly looking lizards. Lizards that stand upright like me, taller than me even, with horribly sharp teeth, perfect for tearing into your flesh... Their voices are hollow, their eyes are deep and beady and orange and glow like fire. They're nightmares. Pure nightmares. That's what they look like."
>...
>Okay maybe a little too much.
>Dash is now shuddering.
>"Yeash... So... How'd you die?"
>You close your eyes.
"Again, I'd rather not talk about it. Look, if it's fine with you, I've answered your question. I'd like to go try to sleep."
>"Well..."
>You open your eyes and get up off the bench and start walking away, feeling very conflicted with the conversation you just had with a pony you haven't even talked to for more than 30 minutes before this.
>As you walk down the road towards your house, you hear soft hoof steps behind you, and you turn around and see she's following you.
"Errr?"
>"I'm coming with you."
"Uh, I'm just going home..."
>"Yeah? Well I'm lonely. And you're insane. Let's go be lonely and insane together. Just for tonight."
>...
"O- okay I guess?"
>You shake your head in disbelief as the two of you make your way back to your house.
>What a weird pony.

Alright so now that I've finished, it's time for me to sit here like a massive faggot and criticize my own work.

Jesus I REALLY suck at dialogue and character interaction. Everytime I want to convey a pause I just do "all was silent for a moment." I really was having a good time doing the sci fi shit and doing stuff BEFORE Dash got there though. I feel like it fell off when they started talking.

What do you guys think?
4/10?

Noice, it was worth the repost. Not that I want to start a discussion about >rape and white knight bullshit (really, I don't, I swear), but I honestly found Anon not taking advantage of Dash really comforting, so that was a perfect ending for me.

>>27525035
Pretty much what you said. The scifi part was well done, but some bits of the second part with the dialogue feel a bit unnatural. That said, if Anon has PTSD one can expect his conversations to be somewhat awkward, so it's not a big deal. But I have to admit, I'm a bad critic and unless something is absolutely terrible I can enjoy pretty much everything, so don't rely much on my opinion. :^)

>>27525035
I also feel like Anon gets edgy at points, I tried making him a gruff military guy but ehh.

I'd say it's 50/50.

She probably wanted "something" like a little sister. Dash loves to be flattered, so the idea of being someone else's role model would sound good to her. Plus, she "hates being alone", so watching some of her friends having quality time with their sisters probably made her feel a bit jealous.

But I'd say she actually never considered it for real until Sleepless in Ponyville. For Dash the previous "status quo", with Scootaloo as a permanent fan and an occasional companion was probably enough. After Scootaloo's confession, however, Dash realized she could have a (kinda) real little sister, so I'd say that it was just then when she realized she wanted one.

Seriously Anon, this wasn't "hey, we've decided Dash is like a cat and she's for sex, so if you don't want to fuck something the size of a cat, bad luck."
Do you prefer to imagine her bigger so you can fuck her? Then do it. Do you prefer to imagine her little so you can treat her like a pet? Then do it. But, seriously, if you want everyone else to share your opinions, you're wasting your time.

Writefag42, Smokefag, SoyMilk and Zappy are gone, but maybe it's too soon to remove Grim and Scribble, it hasn't been so long since their last green.

Church and Rosenkreutz are our most active writefags (thank you, guys!), but in the last threads we also had some nice unsigned green, like that ice cream story (>>27504973). Maybe (?) a shorter writefags list would be less "intimidating" and would encourage those anons to start their own pastebin and/or to write more often, and that would be good. It's worth a try.

How do you see Rainbow as having changed through the series?
I think whilst she's clearly grown closer with her friends, she still retains a lot of what we saw in S1. She still gets ticked off, though is perhaps not as boastful anymore

You are probably the worst person I've ever met. How can anyone be so fake and shallow all day every day of their lives? How can one person say and do the worst things in every given situation every single day? You'll never be important in anyone's life, you cock. Worthless prick. End your shit existence already so I can read your obituary and have a chuckle.

Originally, I thought you couldn't tell the difference between projecting and making insolent assumptions, but your insistence shows something quite different. It's obvious what's going on. It's projecting. When you were psychoanalyzing the uncomplimentary comment and all the marvelous mental processes in the mind that produced it, you said to yourself, "If it'd been me writing that comment, I would've been projecting..." And you proceeded to project your projection. You are the projector, man.

Serious on-topic question though, which I think you might have an answer to. I keep shrinking my Dashie waifu, and every time I do, after a bit of action she gets stretched enough to accommodate my cunt ravager she gave it this nickname, don't blame me with ease, and after some more action she's already too loose. And it stays that way. At this rate, she's going to shrink down to ridiculous dimensions. There's already too little of her to cuddle. To satisfy her lust for having her pussy stretched beyond limits, we're going to move on to fisting, eventually ankling, thighing, unbirthing... Where does this end? So what do I do? I'm growing desperate. Halp pls.

You know what pissed me off about the S5 finale?
Despite being supposedly about the Rainboom being stopped, they really didn't focus on that at all or how it changed all their paths.

They basically said "SHITS FUCKED UP. NO WE WILL NOT EXPLAIN. STRANGE SHIT HAPPENS. DON'T THINK ABOUT IT".

I want SEE how that rainboom not happening changed their lives. Show me how it affect RD's life, Fluttershys life, all that shit.

They took a plot that bronies have been wanting to see for a long time (or at least had a shit ton of fanfiction about) and fucked it up by making it about Twilgiht and a villian sue.

This fucking hit me in the feels.
I feel so god damned lonely right now. I've been having a big bad depressive moodswing the past 4 days and now it's getting worse. I'm starting to think I'll never have anyone who truly gets me or likes me.

I just said hi to one of my steam friends and he responded, and I just don't know what to say now, but I feel the desperate need to talk to another human being. I just don't know about what.

Anyone else know this feel?

I'm sorry, I honestly don't know how to answer this. I don't know how similar those conditions are, and I don't know if something that's a good advice for one of them would be a bad advice for the others, so I'd rather not say anything. But if you're going to get pills, you'll probably need a prescription, so don't hesitate to ask your doctor for help. or at the very least ask the pharmacist. Actually, I do have an advice: never get pills if you aren't sure that they will help you.
>>
>>27552864
Well the first lady I mete said that from judging from what all I filled in I COULD have ADHD, because ADHD can have mood swings, but I didn't bubble in severe ADHD, just mild. Makes me nervous. Next week I talk to the actual doctor to get pills.

I don't think she hated him for 'him' or had any problem with his interests or anything like that, I just think she was annoyed with the way he was being a jerk to everyone and lacked self-awareness about that. Dash is a friendly pony, but she doesn't like people who mistreat others.

I wonder how many shipper shitposters will try to harass us after this episode though. Meh
>>
>>27555215
Butthurt NEETs are trying to force it so that we have to damage control instead of them. It isn't working though.
>>
>>27555241
I'm no fan of shipping in general, believe me, but...

It's not any more or less 'forced' than any other ship, quite frankly. I think you should keep those conspiracy theories to yourself. Besides, this episode isn't going to offend or hurt many 'NEET' type people unless they're also a huge asshole on top of being a NEET, because the whole asshole thing was Zephyr's main problem.
>>
>>27555352
Though, this is /mlp/, we do have a lot of assholes, jerks and rude people in general on here I suppose. No guarantee that their persona on an anonymous image board is entirely serious or that it translate to their IRL personality, though.

The shipping part of the conversation was just about whether or not shitposters will attempt to bother us about it for no reason in particular. If two characters so much as look at each other the right way, shippers make a huge deal out of it, so physical contact like that might bring them out of the woodworks. Or maybe not.

But yeah, I'm not a shipper, and I don't think there was any remotely shipping related in the episode either, I was just arguing that Dash wouldn't just hate him or anything like that, because she's a friendly pony, she just didn't like him being a jerk to her friends and lacking self awareness that he was doing that.
>>
>>27555732
Zeph, not because I relate to his situation because as of yet I don't, mostly his character itself and the shit he pulled.
I usually enjoy literally every episode of MLP, even SAYS I can enjoy whilst acknowledging its flaws. This one though, they made Zeph so unlikeable I just couldn't really. It's one I don't really want to rewatch either, or even bother with the screencap thread with
>>
>>27555728
If they're not an inconsiderate rude jerk I doubt they have much reason to feel offended or threatened by this episode. And even if they are, the episode wasn't saying that they are terrible people or anything, because it showed Zephyr getting redemption for that and had a good ending and all, and everyone seemed to get along. Really, if it wasn't for him being a jerk at first and being particularly disruptive in the process, I doubt anyone would have minded him living with his parents.

But whatever, they can suit themselves I guess. I'm too tired to explain to people why they don't need to feel so bad about it.
>>
>>27555754
Wow, I miss read the fuck out of your post then, all of that makes sense. She definitely didn't like him due to the fact that he was a lazy prick.
>>
>>27555813
I think it was just the prick part, and the lack of self-awareness in the process, because he was kind of being really rude and inconsiderate to her friends. I doubt she's going to hate someone or anything for being lazy, though. She'd probably help a person like that, assuming it was a problem for whatever reason, and they wanted to be helped.

Not that he was lazy, per-se, he had a fear of failure, which is fairly common.
>>
How do you see Dash and Fluttershy's friendship? I saw someone in the episode thread say that despite being friend, he didn't ever perceive as them being all that close, because back in S1 Dash got more frustrated with Fluttershy than she does now.

If it makes you feel better, I hated the episode too. I like (or I used to like) this show because it was heartwarming. In this season almost every episode is about laughing at a character, and that's depressing. It's nothing new, that's the exact same reason I hated Feeling Pinkie Keen, but that was just one episode. Season 6 is the same over and over and over again. I don't want to become a "fan of the fandom", this season has some episodes I liked, and I'd like to give the next episodes a chance, but I really don't know if it's worth it.

>>
>>27557594
Because they don't want to accept the fact that women don't like NEETs.

It's kind of like...
Okay here's an example.

A black man steals something at his job and gets arrested, and the arrest is put on his record for employers to see.

So then somewhere down the road, he gets a job interview working for some shithole, and he shows up wearing dirty clothes, stinking of beer and weed, and he is mildly intoxicated.

Then the interviewer looks over the background check and points out he has a criminal record, and says that based off of that and the way he presents himself, they do not want him working at the company.

Alright, so then finally, instead of acknowledging the fact he's a fuckup and could have done alot better, he instead says this:
>"well fuck, they must have not wanted to hire me because they're racist!!!"

It's exactly like that.

>"well fuck! they must have not wanted to date me because they're a stuckup bitch! not because I'm a 24 year old man that lives with his mother and has no job or anything going for him!"

People don't like to see reality. Especially when it hurts. They want to come up with other reasons why they are disliked.
>>
>>27557594
This anon sure is. It's glorious. Dave Rapp may have overdone the cringe in Newbie Dash just a bit, but this episode demonstrated that he has a masterful grasp of dialogue and that all he needed to do to make a 9-10/10 episode was dial back the cringe just a bit.

Rainbow dash obviously was into the new stallion today. She's only playing hard to get. Did anyone write any fics about her getting railed in front of Fluttershy's family?

Once he has a job and a stable life, he's going to come so deep inside her. He doesn't seem like the type to just give up easily now. He's gonna get that rainbow mare, and fluttershy will be overjoyed that her new sister in law is her best and closest lifelong friend.

Do people now seriously refer to anything remotely suggestive of a romantic interaction between two characters *in the original work* as shipping? Jesus.

>>
yo i'm not even kidding though. I really like girls who play hard to get.

I really think dash would be the prime example of a girl who sorta rejects you, but also keeps you hanging along.

The kinda girl who would tease you but then call you an idiot. I'm addicted to shit like that. God really loved how disinterested and disgusted she was by him. It made me think about how badly I want her to cuck me.

Also, don't judge me. Its just a fantasy. I just want like, a light cuckery, nothing too crazy. Not even sex even. I am not even sexually active. I just really get off when women are super disinterested in me.

God damn do I love this episode for Dash. It plays into the idea that someone without a goal or dream they can actually dedicate themselves to is a failure in her eyes. This is something that's been assumed and it's confirmed in this episode and it's one more step to understanding Rainbow's interests on a whole.

>Woman who believes in having a dream/aspiration.

That logic doesn't really pan out. If the character meets the Anon criteria, (extremely generic and non-defined) then it is no longer a specific character, it's just a tool for the veiwer to self insert. That's the whole point of Anon as a character in the first place.

I assume it's got nothing to do with this http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/SelfInsertFic which is the typical usage, but apparently not here. You probably mean imagining yourself as a character in a work of fiction you're reading/viewing. But that's not limited to human male characters, unless your imagination is complete crap. You can be the male or the female, the human or the pony, anything. But something tells me this is not exactly what you mean either. You're right. I don't understand it. The problem I have with saying that AiE is self insert is that more often than not, writers have Anon have a personality of his own, which contradicts mine more often than not, and breaks any and all immersion. That being said, why immerse yourself into Equesrtia using some shit some faggot wrote?

You are correct in saying that the usage of self insert on this board is different then the popular usage. Self insertion refers to the viewer inserting himself in the art/green that they are viewing, which I already said before. The whole point of Anon is that he's as generic as possible, making it easier to self insert. I don't want to view porn of Dash and some other stallions, because I'm not a stallion, making it very hard to self insert. Also, some random stallion doesn't represent me (like Anon does), he represents himself, his own character, which I can't self insert as, because I'm not him. Anon is a very unique character, so it makes sense that it would be hard to understand. If I could look at art featuring Anon, or some random stallion, which one do you think is easier to self insert into?
>>
>>27560197
Because reading green/viewing art is more stimulating then just using your imagination or something. Of course his personality isn't going to mirror yours perfectly, however, Anon is supposed to be extremely easy to self insert into. If your immersion can be ruined that easily, you need to work on your imagination.
>>
>>27560281
Uh except that's wrong.
I've seen tons of stories where Anon just does the dumbest shit and it just fucking ruins any and all immersion. I can't imagine myself being a retard in Equestria doing the most stupidest of shit to solve a problem.

>>
>>27560197
To be fair, you can't do much with the characters and the story if the protagonist is bland. That's only good for one-shots and clop.

>why immerse yourself into Equesrtia using some shit some faggot wrote?

There are really good stories out there for whose sake you can easily ignore that the character isn't "insertable" kek. Very few, but they do exist. But I guess you have the option to just read something without becoming the protagonist. Daydreams and fantasies are the way to go. They let you be yourself.
>>
>>27560298
Well no shit, some times the writer will make Anon do some "interesting" things in order to make the story a bit more interesting. How ever, thats only like 10% of Anon greens, just go look at all of our writefags pastebins. The Anons in their stories are very generic, and hardly do things like that.
>>

>Daydreams and fantasies are the way to go. They let you be yourself.

To this day, I haven't read a single story where Anon is more relatable than male characters in contemporary literature. It's typically about the same, except Anon tends to be less believable, but that's irrelevant since the other characters, ponies, don't even exist in reality. Welp, if you find it impossible to "self-insert" as other creatures, such as mares, you're missing out on a lot of fun.

Sounds like a good motto for this board.
>If I can't self insert in it, I'm going to fuck it!
>>
>>27560491
>1. Have you ever tried lucid dreaming? How does it compare?
I've tried to do it alot before, but it takes alot of effort to do it and it doesn't seem all that worth it to me. It just seems like you're having an experience, and then you wake up and have a massive chance of forgetting it unless you write it down. If that's the case, why bother having the experience in the first place?
>2. How easy would it be for someone who has never tried this to start doing it?
I started doing this stuff about a month ago, and now I am able to do it pretty easily on the fly. The hardest part of it all is just keeping your mind a blank slate for the initial preparation part. You get alot better at it each time you do it though. It's actually a fantastic skill to have even outside of daydreaming.

It took me only about 3 tries to get to where I wanted. And every other fantasy since then has been stronger than the last.

I think if anyone has trouble doing it they should just try mindful meditation https://www.psychologytoday.com/blog/the-courage-be-present/201001/how-practice-mindfulness-meditation
>>
>>27560556
Wow, that's awesome. Thanks for sharing this, I'll definitely give it a shot.
>>
>>27560475
So it's basically subjective. The discussion is killed.
>If you find it impossible to self insert into Anon, you're missing out on alot of good content
Then good thing I don't, relatively speaking. Anon is usually completely unlike me, but that only makes him unrelatable. I can still walk in his shoes and immerse myself in the story to an extent. And I can do that with other characters too, even non-human ones. Cool, huh?
>what other option did you want me to use?
>You can be the male or the female, the human or the pony, anything
It struck me as odd that you chose specifically stallions.
>>
>>27560172
That wasn't the purpose of the artist though.
>>
>>27560491
Oh I forgot part of the answer.
>How does it compare
I think it might be pretty comparable. They're both just strange states of consciousness. Maybe Lucid Dreaming would be stronger of an experience, but I feel like the vividness of these fantasies are already pretty strong. It feels like I'm just doing Lucid Dreaming only with 1/4 of the effort and time invested.

For instance, around the sixth or so fantasy, I tried flying around with Dash(who thought it was very fucking weird that I could fly without wings)and had a pretty good blast. It felt pretty real.

I wonder if the vividness of the experience is related to how well you imagine shit. Unlike in Lucid Dreaming where it's just like... I guess simulated by your mind? In Lucid Dreaming your subconsciousness provides simulation of reality and you set the rules. In these fantasies, you have to provide the reality and the rules yourself. But I still do a very loose generation of it and am still surprised by what I find.

It's very hard to explain.

Having done these fantasies I think I'd LIKE to try to do Lucid Dreaming. If only to see how it compares. It'd be an interesting study.
>>
>>27560590
>And I can do that with other characters too, even non-human ones. Cool, huh?

Oh please, cut the crap, all of you. None of the characters would have minded or thought twice about him living with his parents if he wasn't being such an inconsiderate jerk in the process. Despite all the 'neet' hysteria you people are shitposting about, the only real problem Dash and the others had with him was that he was being an asshole. And the characters went well out of their way to help him, so I'm sure they'll all get along just fine.

If you're not an asshole, and you can spend time with Dash doing fun shit and all that other nice stuff, you'll be fine. Now I'm sure if you married Dash and were living with her, she'd want you to do what you can to help contribute, but that doesn't mean she or anyone else has some intense hatred for NEETs or something, it's just common sense that you, again, do what you can. Your waifu isn't the cartoon character, quite frankly she's a separate instance of Dash, and even if canon shipping became a thing, it wouldn't be with your waifu, it would be with the show Dash. Nothing can take her from you, because she'll always love you more than anything and care for you and so on, and even if you decided to stop watching the show and ignored whatever further episodes you want, that'd be perfectly fine.

You get the idea. Everyone's waifu is separate from the show Dash and is also separate from other peoples waifu too. Hard to explain, but shippers can't touch it, and when you really get down to it, the writers of the show can't either, if you don't want them to.

Senpai I'm pretty sure that Flutterbutter and Dash were horrified by the idea of him moving back in with his parents, were even more irritated by his lack of employment, and that his general douchiness was just the icing on the cake. NEETs need not apply as far as ponies are concerned.
>>
>>27561472
I'm pretty sure you're totally wrong and missed the point of the episode entirely, not to mention the reasons for the characters actions. He was being a huge asshole, and that was the only reason in particular for them to be hostile to some extent or another. Not saying his lack of contribution wasn't a problem or anything, or that it didn't need to be fixed, but the Mane 6 'hating' him for that alone is purely your imagination, quite frankly. And they helped him get over his fear of failure, and I expect they'll all be getting along just fine now.

>moving back in with his parents

There are significant downsides such as lack of privacy, but this is fairly common all around the world, so anyone who has some irrational hatred of it is just an asshole themselves. Now obviously someone who does so should probably help contribute in what ways they can, but there's nothing inherently bad about that.

Well I'm not saying they 'hated' him because he was a NEET, that's absurd. I'm saying they were generally frustrated with, disgusted by, and indisposed towards him, which was very clearly partially based on his status as a lazy bum in the process of moving back in with his parents. Which is to say, a NEET. Yes, he had a fear of failure, but the episode laid the blame for his actions very squarely at his feet and his feet alone. There is simply no getting around it, ponies do not take kindly towards creatures who have a history of failing to contribute to society. And while the moving back in on it's own thing isn't inherently bad, when someone who has a history of NEET-type leeching off society does it, it's cause for Flutter's and Dash's concerned reactions in the episode, and when that someone proceeds to explain how they aren't going to have a job and will be engaging in more leeching, it's cause for horror and mild anger. Which both Dash and Flutters displayed in the episode. And then, when on top of all that, the someone acts like a boorish ass, very much in line with the NEET stereotype, they should expect open hostility. At the point at which Zeph began acting an ass, Flutters and Dash were already very upset with him. And while they're proud of him and forgive him once he changes his ways, the fact remains that

1) they were unwilling to do so until he actually made the change and succeeded.

and

2) For them to feel any sympathy for him, he had to literally be on the verge of death after a mental breakdown. And even then, it was more of a 'well we can't just let him die even if he is worthless' sympathy, as opposed to an 'aw the poor thing it isn't his fault we gotta do something' sympathy.
>>
>>27561524
>>27561896

And another thing;

Why are you going out of your way to defend NEETs anon? They're not terribly sympathetic. Anyone can get a damn job flipping burgers, working security, working retail, etc, so their plight is entirely voluntary. Not being in education, employment, or training requires either a serious physical disability, or a very shitty attitude. And there aren't a whole lot of NEETs who fall into the former category.
>>
>>27561921
Well what about debilitating mental issues? And I don't mean the
>o boo hoo im sad ;(
I mean the actual shit. The shit that makes you have panic attacks before going into work. That's what made me quit, and now I really regret it, but now I'm seeking help and I'll try again.

Is that the difference? Those with mental issues who don't seek help or try to change are the losers and assholes and deserve spite but those who seek help and try to fix whats wrong dont?
>>
>>27561947
Only if it's clinically diagnosed. Or would be if you had the money to see a shrink. And that would put you in the overwhelming minority, a simple perusal of the episode thread and the numerous assdblasted 'RD didn't like Zeph she must be gay' threads that followed that most other NEETs embody the stereotype in the worst possible way.
>>
>>27561896
You're entitled to your interpretation of the episode, but I do not agree with, especially when it's clear you have a pretty strong bias.

>ponies do not take kindly towards creatures who have a history of failing to contribute to society

This is a vastly overstated exaggeration. I'm sure they expect him to help contribute with income and stuff if he's going to live with his parents for example, but that's just common courtesy and has nothing do with 'contributing to society', which has always been a questionable way of framing most average jobs in the first place. It's more like contributing to the people you're living with. Like I mentioned with Dash, I don't think you'd have to have some super-tough job, and love isn't even remotely about employment, but you'd be expected to do what you can to contribute, even if that's not a huge amount. It's just common courtesy.

>they were unwilling

They helped him and came to an understanding that he had a fear of failure. And I don't think success was part of it, they just wanted him to try and do what he can, which is a reasonable expectation.

>For them to feel any sympathy for him

The Mane 6 and ponies in general are pretty good natured, and value a lot of nice things. If anything, with the way you're framing it, the attitude you're describing is horribly cruel and OOC. Like I said, not unreasonable for them to expect him to contribute what he can, and I'm not justifying people who don't contribute at all, but he's still family to Fluttershy, and her and all the Mane 6 care about him and want to help him, which they tried to throughout the episode. They most definitely felt legitimate sympathy and wanted to see him do his best from the very start, even despite his grating attitude throughout the process, which is a far cry from the edgy OOC nonsense you're describing. It most definitely was the 'aw the poor thing it isn't his fault we gotta do something' sort of sympathy because that's what the Mane 6 do.
>>
God you two really need to pull out your tampons. Your entire argument is just going in circles with each pass adding more and more insults.
>>
>>27561921
Not justifying their lack of contribution to the people they're living with or anything like that, obviously people should contribute what they can, and in Equestria I'd bet that's even easier than here because there are likely a lot of relatively simple jobs you could get. I'm just peeved by the overdone hostility.

Of course, I'm one of the people who expect that in the real world, automation will eventually ensure that not everyone is gonna be employed. Not being a NEET is a good thing because it's good to contribute what you can to yourself and the ones you live with, but if automation continues there won't be enough employment, even if some new jobs are created. I think the "your work must define you" attitudes some people have probably need to go, especially considering that. A job is an act of necessity and is for helping yourself and those close to you, not some sort of moral imperative.

tl;dr we'll all eventually be NEETs, or we'll pursue our interests for fun if we so choose, having a job is something to help pull your weight, even if it's modestly, not something that is inherently good just for the sake of work
>>
>>27562126
is spending all day contributing to linux github and open source projects considered contributing to something?
>>
>>27562052
>This is a vastly overstated exaggeration

Not really, Troubleshoes gets treated like a criminal, and Zecora is feared and shunned, both for a perceived lack of contribution.

>which has always been a questionable way of framing most average jobs in the first place

How? All work helps a fellow citizen in some way, even if indirect, and an economy is only the sum of all it's individual actors, so any job definitionally counts as contributing. I suppose he could also contribute by doing chores, but Zeph damn well wasn't interested in that.

>They helped him and came to an understanding that he had a fear of failure. And I don't think success was part of it, they just wanted him to try and do what he can, which is a reasonable expectation.

Succeeded as in successfully overcame his fear of failure. Their forgiveness and continued support was contingent on his earnestly working towards that goal.

>the attitude you're describing is horribly cruel and OOC

It's not. Zeph's conduct is abhorrent, and from the episode we can infer that he's literally always been that way, so Flutters and Dash's exasperation with him throughout the entire episode is completely justified. Notice that the others, who haven't been putting up with him for their whole lives, are at first nice but them get irritated. After presumed decades of shitty conduct, Flutters and Dash are not acting OOC by lacking sympathy for him, they've simply been pushed past their breaking point. Especially Dash, who's had to put up with years of unwanted sexual advances. It's actually a testament to how much of a douche he must've been offscreen if FLUTTERSHY is mad enough at him to swear in public.

>>27562126
Well that's cool and all, but we haven't hit a post scarcity autonomous economy yet, so useless layabouts don't get to be excused because one day might all will be useless layabouts.

It is, but I'm sure you'd want some amount of income to help out too; though like I said, I'd imagine getting one would be much easier in Equestria than the dismal employment situation here in our world, especially with lots of simpler jobs available.

Open source stuff does sound like the sort of hobby some people might take up in the future due to the stuff like automation I mentioned, though.

>>27562558
>Troubleshoes gets treated like a criminal

No he doesn't. That's nonsense. He's just a normal hipster/writer person.

>Zecora is feared and shunned

Cut the crap. Zecora was feared at first because she was an 'evil enchantress' from the everfree forest, a place that the ponies are afraid of. After it was revealed that she was a friend though, the ponies treated her just fine and welcomed her. Hardly feared or shunned at this point.

>How? All work helps a fellow citizen in some way

Sure, but you make it sound like it's a huge deal when you say "contribute to society". It adds up when everyone does it, but let's be real.

>Their forgiveness and continued support

Their forgiveness and continued support was the reason he succeeded. And they were all too happy to give it to him through every steop of the way, because they're friendly.

>It's not.

Oh please, yes it is. You made it sound like you think they are uncaring pricks, which couldn't be farther from the truth. Of course his attitude would have annoyed them at this point, but they did care about him, especially Fluttershy, and they helped him through his fear of failure. They helped him because they felt sympathy for him and because they always help people in trouble, something you seem to lack.

Anyway, you seem to have some serious bias here, your rhetoric seems to suggest that you have a particularly strong dislike for unemployed people. Either way, I doubt we're going to agree on this, so perhaps we should just cut the conversation before it drags the whole thread completely off topic.

>Zeph works for 3 months, decides to try his luck with Dash again
>Goes up to Dash's door, knocks on it; it takes a while for it to open and he starts to think shes not there
>Door opens finally, and Dash is standing there with slightly screwy hair and then nervously grins at Zephyr
>"Uh.. Hey Zephyr... This is kind of a bad time..."
>Zephyr smiles at her
>"I won't be long - I just wanted to ask you something, now that I have a job, do you want to maybe go-"
>A voice is heard behind Dash
>A mans voice
>Zephyr stops mid sentence and raises a brow
>"Hey Dashie, what's going on?"
>Anon steps up behind Dash without a shirt on and his pants being held up by a very loose belt
>"Who's this?"
>Zephyr is frozen, trying to find something to say, feeling his heart break into pieces
>"Uh..." Dash steps in quickly, eager to end this awkward exchange.
>"I gotta go... Talk to you later Zephyr."
>Before Zephyr can say anything the door quickly closes and locks behind them, leaving a heart broken Zephyr behind

I think it'd be even better if Dash runs off leaving Zephyr and Anon alone, and before closing and locking the door, Anon smirks at Zephyr before shutting the door.

>No he doesn't. That's nonsense. He's just a normal hipster/writer person.

>let's be real

I'll stand by any job, no matter how small, contributing in some way to the health of society at large. We need janitors and construction workers just as much as lawyers and teachers.

>Their forgiveness and continued support was the reason he succeeded. And they were all too happy to give it to him through every steop of the way, because they're friendly.

But only after he showed some willingness to actually try and overcome his failings. They didn't just give him a free pass, he had to actually give them a reason to believe their efforts wouldn't be wasted. They care about him, but they're know that they can't help him unless he's willing to help himself.

>Oh please, yes it is. You made it sound like you think they are uncaring pricks, which couldn't be farther from the truth. Of course his attitude would have annoyed them at this point, but they did care about him, especially Fluttershy, and they helped him through his fear of failure.

You're falsely linking caring and sympathy. You can care for a person very deeply and still not be sympathetic to them when they dig their own grave, then bury themselves in it. Everything that happened to Zeph was entirely his fault. Zeph deserved and got RD and Flutter's compassion, but they only really became sympathetic after it was evident that Zeph had fucked up to the point where he would need both willpower and a team effort by the two of them to unfuck his shit.

>something you seem to lack

Not that I don't sympathize with your whole 'Chad' experience or whatever, but if you know how completely awful that feels, I'm not sure why you'd want to read a story about it happening to other people, and try to spin it as somehow funny at the same point. Seems really silly and edgy.

>>27563100
>nice buzzword meme.

A vague word with a vague meaning, but usually it just means you're a cunt or like seeing other people suffer.

And the word cuck is not just used in the case of marriage these days, it's being used as a 'have your girl stolen' thing in general, as well as varied other uses. It's more flexible of a word now. Not that I needed to use the word, the fact that the story idea could be described as unpleasant would have sufficed, but still, you get the idea.

And no, it's not hilarious. Your sense of humor is not something I find agreeable, but suit yourself I suppose. I just think it makes you, again, an edgy cunt. Of course, it's just fanfiction, but still.

I have no problem with the unemployed at large, but NEET refers to that specific subset that skews upper-middle class to rich, had every advantage handed to them, and is unemployed and not in school not because of a lack of ability, but because of simple laziness.

>Either way, I doubt we're going to agree on this, so perhaps we should just cut the conversation before it drags the whole thread completely off topic.

>You're thinking of trenderhoof.

My mistake. I don't think Troubleshoes was exactly treated like a criminal either, though. He was just trying to find the place he wanted in life, and the CMC helped him out.

>any job, no matter how small, contributing in some way to the health of society at large.

Fair enough, I don't disagree, just pointing out the scope of things here.

>But only after he showed some willingness to actually try and overcome his failings.

Obviously he had to want to be helped for them to help him, but they were helping him right from the start, by offering him jobs and other things. Once it became clear this was indeed a fear of failure thing, they gave him more morale support and all that nice stuff.

>Everything that happened to Zeph was entirely his fault.

Fear of failure is a pretty hard thing to overcome. His attitude was shit, but perhaps his difficulty finding employment is pretty understandable. They also didn't know he had a fear of failure and other such problems until later in the episode. At no point did they not feel compassion or care for him though, that was constant.

>>27563160

I just find the suggested prompt unpleasant and distasteful. It's just fanfiction, as I said, but that doesn't mean I can't be a fan of the idea, especially when it's being played up for comedy.

You're all making a bigger deal out of my distaste for the idea than my original post even warranted, honestly. Some people get pissy about Canon x OC stories, or certain ship pairing stories, or grimdark stories like FoE. And I don't like this particularly brand of story.... so what? People are individuals and should be treated as such; differences can be noted in large enough population groups, but they are often overstated, and there are no exclusively male or female traits, for example.

Generalizing is unjustified, as there's nothing universal there. At most you could say men are more likely for X and women are more likely for X, but you can't even begin to say that men are always X and women are always X, except maybe with the total potential for physical strength.

It's your PERSONAL individuality that's dictating your preferences and etiquette here, my friend. And I don't find that your preferences and etiquette match mine at all. In fact, I find them pretty repulsive :^)

>As you ascend you're met with the sound of some new wave music you're sure is the latest most obscure album Zeph could find.
>Not really your thing, but at least it seems to have kept Zeph from noticing your arrival.
>You pick your way down the hall quietly until you get to the yellow door with cute images stamped all over it.
>You poke your muzzle through the door and see Fluttershy splayed out on her bed looking at some book.
"Hey, Fluttershy. Whatcha up to?"
>She jumps slightly, closing her book with a snap and tenses up before settling a bit as she looks over at you.
>"Oh, um, hi Rainbow Dash. Is Speedster Camp out already? They must have let you go ear-Goodness! Is it really already five thirty?"
>She jumped up and stared at her clock like it was trying to trick her.
"Erm...yeah? You know we never get out early. You remember inviting me over for dinner again, right?"
>She quickly floats over to you and puts her hoof on your shoulder
>"Oh of course! You know you're always welcome over whenever you want. I'd be happy if you came for dinner every night!"
>You mutter something about how it seems like you have been as you hear the door downstairs open and close again.
>"What'd you say?"
>>
>>27563706
I was referring to second person in the sense of stories like greentexts or the second person stories on FIMFic where the reader is the main character. Basically the self-insert 'you' are the protagonist stuff, which is all second person is used for for the most part.
>>
>>27563719
I'd rather just do third person limited with a focus on Zephyr.
>>
>>27563725
"Huh? Uh...nothing. Hey! Sounds like your Dad's home. Let's go down so I can say hello."
>Fluttershy nods as you head for the hallway, but stops to swoop back and tuck her book under her pillow.
>You were just able to make out a cover that read 'Images of Equestria-A Travelogue' before it was safely hidden.
>You shake your head. Fluttershy would never have the guts to leave Cloudsdayle. And life on the ground is just weird for a pegasus.
>The two of you make your way toward the stairs as voices start to float up from the kitchen.
>".....problems at the Weather Factory? I suppose it'll be another long shift."
>"Well, there's no helping it. You know they put the less skilled workers on the night shift, and Blaze never cared for weather control."
>"Yes, he always was trying to sharpen his aerobatics and just ignored everything else, but he has daughter to take care of now, and I just-"
>Fluttershy gasps and tries to fly around you, rushing downstairs as you pretend to be very interested in the music wubbing from Zeph's room.
>"He knows that, dear. He's given all that up now to do what he has to. Hopefully he can show some improvement soon and can get promoted to day-"
>"MOM! DAD! Me and RAINBOW came down to help set the table! OOH! Are we having hayburgers? That's Wonderful!"
>You continue your trot down the stairs while fixing a smile on your face to cover the mix of emotions you're feeling.
"Wow, Zeph's really playing that stuff loud! Not bad though. So, what's for dinner? Outflying ponies all day makes a filly hungry!"
>"Ah! Rainbow! You're already here, huh? Well...er, good! You help Flutters set the table and I'll get those burgers on the grill."

>It's strange. The tension from a few seconds ago is gone. Somehow, these ponies just make you feel.....comfortable.
"So, how's things at work, Mr. Shy? D'you see Dad come in?"
>He turns to give you that same gentle smile as his wife as he stacks hayburger patties on a platter.
>"Oh you know Blaze. He's always a few minutes early. I see him on my way out every day. Look, there were some problems with the cloud generators so he'll probably have a late night. I asked if you could stay here tonight, and he said it'd be fine if you like."
>You put plates around the table as Fluttershy lays out napkins and condiments and try to ignore the soulfull look in her eyes when she looks at you.
"Nah, thanks Mr. S. I gotta get home and make sure the ol' place is picked up and there's food for when Dad gets home. 'Specially if he's gonna be late. But thanks though."
>"Oh, but, Rainbow are you sur-"
>"It's fine Fluttershy. She knows she's always welcome here if she wants to, and we'll always be there if she needs us. Right, Rainbow Dash?"
"Yeah, yeah. I gotcha Mr. S."
>You realize as you speak that you really do believe it.
>You give a toothy grin.
"But I hope you got Dad's hayburger recipe, 'cause the last ones you made could run me off for good, and I'd have to take Fluttershy with me for her own safety!"
>"Heh, alright, alright. You know I only use Blaze's recipe now. Rainbow, go wash up. Flutters, help your mother. I'll have these grilled up in no time."
>You trot off to the hallway bathroom still smiling. The little sounds of the home fill the air. You miss it in your own place sometimes still.

>You carefully wash and dry your face and hooves taking special care as you go.
>You look up at the scruffy little rainbow colored filly in the mirror.
"Okay Dad. Just you watch. I'll be the best flyer in Equestria soon."
>He may not be able to race anymore since he's taking care of you, but he taught you everything he knows.
>He and Fluttershy and Mr. and Mrs. S. are all doing everything they can to let you fly free.
>You have to fly farther, faster, and higher than anypony else.
>You strike a pose in the mirror that you've seen on various Wonderbolts posters.
"Why not aim for the top? And I'll be the best of ALL of 'em."
>"Rainbow? Dinner's ready! Grab Zeph and come on to the table!"
"Coming!"
>You give your reflection a hoofbump and step out straight into a hug from Fluttershy.
"What the? You okay, Fluttershy?"
>"Um, I, well, I just thought you might need it. I'll get Zephyr. You go on."
>You swiftly give her a quick follow up hug and head to the table.
"I'll be the best for all of them."

>Today’s the day!
>The sun is shining, the tank is clean, and you are going to spend the afternoon with your best friend!
>The most recent addition to the Wonderbolts had asked you to critique her form during her afternoon practice. Of course you’d agreed.
>Dash was trying to perfect a wingtip turn for the upcoming Wonderbolts show, and to be honest, she had quite a ways to go.
>You being the one to help her didn’t really make sense, being a flightless alien and all, but you weren’t about to let her down.
>The majority of the concern was in your own abilities to spot corrections.
>You had seen her master more difficult maneuvers in similar short order, so your concern was checked.
>All you had to do was make sure everything was…delegated? No…deliberate, that’s what she’d said.
>You were counting on her giving you a more in depth explanation when you got there, deliberate was a bit hard to go off of.
>After all mistakes can be deliberate too. You knew that all too well.
>You made sure to grab your stopwatch before you left your front door. She was especially concerned about the timing of her moves due to the team dynamic.
>The midmorning air was crisp on your lungs and decided to break out into a light jog.
>At this rate you might interrupt her warm up routine, but you were full of energy and had let it out somehow.
>As you approach the park you spot her multicolored mane and azure wings—pointed skyward in a stretch.
>But she’s not alone, a fuzzy green blob is moving next to her.
>As you get closer you recognize the bogey as the Zephyr guy she was telling you about.
>You also recognize that he probably wasn’t invited.

>Around the same time you take stock of the situation she notices you.
>A wave of relief washes over her face and manages to make the nose scrunch disappear.
>You smile and wave, but you lose her attention as she makes an awkward retreat from Zeph sticking his nose in her face.
>The closer you get the more you feel some of Dash’s discomfort shift to you.
>Well, it doesn’t exactly shift, Dash still looked like a fish out of water, it more like it copies and pastes itself onto you.
>You’re close enough to hear his swooning now and Dash physically pushes him away after he gets too close a second time.
>That’s it, you’ve seen enough.
“Hey Rainbow what’s up!” You manage in a chipper yet firm tone.
>The first impression is everything.

“Sorry I had trouble finding my…clothes.”
>Your eyes shift from her to Zephyr, then back to her.
>The stallion bun decides to but in.
>”Excuse me, who…”

>”Pffft really?”

>You are about to continue when you notice Dash staring at you with a shocked look, only then did you realize the weight your words carried.
>Oh no.
>This was not good, she was probably plotting your murder right now…just waiting till you were both out of sight. They would never find the body in the woods.
>Fortunately Zephyr was too mortified to notice that you looked like puppy who just pissed on the carpet.
>Dash’s eyes are narrowed at you and you can almost hear her growling. You imagine all the flowers in the field around you withering and dying.
>Unfortunately Dash’s aggressive stance and the obvious lack of fluid conversation lasted far too long.
>The charade tipped off Zephyr and he snapped out of his self pity trance.
>As you backed up from the blue terror in front of you, part of your mind hoped that he wasn’t smart enough to catch on to the tension in the situation, but he had seen far too much now for your wish to come true.
>Oh no, now he’s deciding to man up… err pony up…saddle up, lets go with that.
>“Excuse me, but what exactly are you?” He asks with skepticism.
>Dash stops her death look and realizes what she’d done.
“I’m a human.” You respond with as much condescension as possible.
>You were hoping to play on any lingering uncertainty he still had.
>He wasn’t buying it and it only seemed to make him angry.
>”Well, since Rainbow Dash and I were enjoying a delightful conversation until you showed up, I must ask you to…”
>”He’s my colt friend.”

>You feel Dash’s hoof around your waist; you catch you breath and try to not show any surprise.
>You never expected her to try to keep up the story, and you weren’t sure it would work.
>Fortunately his self esteem mirrored his confidence and he quickly reverted back to questioning his earlier judgement. Except this time he looked even more distraught.
>You glance down at Dash and catch her glancing back up at you.
>She was banking on your ability to play along with it, why back out now?
>You clear your throat.
“Yeah… that too.”
>You complete the stab through his heart by resting your hand on the cradle of Dash’s wings, one of the more sensitive parts of their anatomy.
>You felt her back muscles twitch under your touch, but she kept a straight face and stared down the now completely deflated pegasus in front of her.
>The reality of the situation hits you and a slight blush begins to creep its way to your face.
>”Y-you mean…y-you’re…”
>”Together, yep. For the past, oh whaddaya say dude? Three months?”
>You just nod down at Dash who rolled her eyes at your flushed cheeks.
>”Anon just came to take me out to lunch!”
>She was just digging you into a deeper and deeper hole now.
>It’s justice you suppose.
>She flies up and pecks you on the cheek.
>”Come one dude, let’s get there before rush hour! Oh see ya around Zephyr.”
>You could swear he was on the verge of tears, but you had far more pressing matters on your mind like the fact that you could smell the redness on your face.
>You mindlessly follow Dash until you’re both out of sight of Zephyr.
>She turns around with the biggest shit eating grin you’ve ever seen.
>”HAH! And you thought you could prank me! See how that worked out for you!”
>She thought it was a prank?
>You might get off easier than you thought.
“Heh… yeah, I guess that didn’t go as planned.”
>You scratch the back of your head as your blush begins to fade.
>>
>>27565169

>”You should’ve seen the look on your face! It was priceless!”
>She’s just laughing and pointing at you now.
>She’d never let you live it down, but it beats getting murdered in the woods.
>You were’t sure what it meant, but you couldn’t shake the fact that part of you kinda enjoyed it, even though it was fake.
>Her laughter finally dies down.
“Sorry about your practice Dash, I guess I kinda ruined your plans to practice.”
>”Oh don’t worry about that dude! I can master that wingtip roll in a snap! But it’s not every day I can have a laugh like that!”
>Her smile shows that she thoroughly enjoyed ditching Zephyr as well as embarrassing you.
“Yeah I suppose…”
>”So since you were taking me out to lunch where are we headed?”
>What.
“What?”
>She stifles a giggle with her hoof.
>”You were just about to take me on a date remember?”
>You blush returns, but much lighter than before. You hoped she didn’t notice.
>There was no reason to keep up the role-play now, Zephyr was long gone.
>You weren’t about to drop it though, you’ve traveled down this path too far for that. It would just be…uncool.
>You look over at her and see her mocking grin was replaced with a genuine smile.
“Well… uhh, I always wanted to try Donut Palace III, you know it’s sounds…exotic.”
>She gives you an incredulous look before smiling again and bumping her rump into your thigh.
>”All right but you’re paying!”
>Maybe you didn’t ruin the day after all.

I got back to check on this trainwreck of a discussion, and immediately regretted it.

>ad hominem
Let's remind you of the actual meaning of this ugly little Latin phrase. Argumentum ad hominem is an attempt to invalidate an argument by attacking the person making the argument rather than the argument itself. Example:
>You're wrong, because you're a retard.
I used my impression of your being defensive as an excuse to stop talking to you rather than saying you were wrong about something (which was what even?). I did not commit ad hominem. But you used this outdated tactic of 4chan pseudointellectuals to demonstrate whatever. Why?

>cherry picking
No idea what this is supposed to mean. Are you saying it's not true that you prefer Anon(and variants)-centered stories or I do not have a strong preference either way? If anything, I made a generalization, a reasonable one, rather than cherry-pick.

Wow, that didn't take long.
>Why
Because it was applicable. You were trying to invalidate my argument by falsely accusing me of being defensive. It was the only (half assed) argument in your post, the only other two points were
>muh cherry picking
and
>muh different tastes

>No idea what this is supposed to mean.
You don't know what cherry picking is? You clearly selected certain tidbits of my posts to fit your narrative. I too am a fan of any well written protagonist, the Anon preference is only applicable to self insertion, which obviously nobody does every time the consume media.
>Well, I'm off to other threads. See you.

>Yes you were.
No. You interpreted my messages as such without confirmation. Are you really saying that when I said, paraphrasing
>You seem defensive to me, UNLESS I'M MISTAKEN
is an ad hominem? Fallacies pertain only to express statements, e.g.
>You are defensive, therefore your argument is invalid
Otherwise it's not an ad hominem. You misused the phrase. And you're essentially calling me a liar. Yeah, you sure know better what's going on in my mind than I do. Great.

>Hypocrisy is a logical fallacy too
No, it isn't. A hypocritical statement can still be valid and true. In fact, claiming that hypocrisy makes what a person says fallacious is a fallacy. It's called "tu quoque". You are really bad at this. Consider avoiding calling people out on committing fallacies.

>Wow, that didn't take long.
Yeah, I have a real life. Now, for example, I'm mowing my back yard and taking breaks.
>inb4 you interpret this as me saying you don't have a life, ad hominem ad hominem ad hominem
I'm not typically malicious, despite you thinking otherwise and viewing my messages in the worst light.

And I just realized I fucked up when I said
>You're a fan of Anon, I'm a fan of any well-written character.

>No
Yes, it was. Adding a question mark to the end of a logical fallacy doesn't make it any less of a fallacy. I'd be like if you had a really good argument, and I replied with "well you're wrong because you're ducking retarted, right?" Turning it into a question doesn't make it any more valid, especially seeing as that wasn't an actual question. You and I both know that you weren't actually questioning if I was being defensive or not, because if you were, you wouldn't have posted it in the first place.
>You are really bad at this.
Says the guy who has been posting fallacies almost every single post now. Strawman, ad hominem, cherry picking, there's been loads of them. Before pointing out someone else's errors in argument, maybe you should address your own.
>Yeah, I have a real life. Now, for example, I'm mowing my back yard and taking breaks.
You completely missed the point of my statement. I was referencing how you said you were leaving the thread and the argument, then came back to it rather quickly. Also,
>he has time to post in 4chan
>must mean he doesn't have a life!
While it isn't ad hominem, it's still pointless name calling which is almost as bad. I had time to wake up, go to the gym and go to church this morning and I'm still posting. Nice try though.
>I'm not typically malicious, despite you thinking otherwise and viewing my messages in the worst light.
Huh, so it's just for me then? I feel so special.
>You're going to use this concession against me, aren't you.
I'll let this one slide due to the fact that I fucked up with the whole hypocrisy thing.
I don't understand why you're still here. You claimed that you don't want to argue, and that the original argument simply comes down to taste, and that you were leaving, yet here you are. and you're only posting things chock full of holes and fallacies. >Yes, it was.
Once again, an ad hominem is an argument, not a feeling. Saying "you're defensive" is not an argument. The worst you can turn it into is a personal attack. A couple of components are missing: the argument my "ad hominem" supposedly attacked, and the causal connection between saying "you're defensive" and my supposed attempt at attacking the argument. Maybe it's pointless to keep trying to convince you that I wasn't trying to attack your arguments, and that I just commented on your tone, but here goes: I did not intend to debunk any argument of yours by saying that, and I'm sorry that you, rather than believing me, are holding on to your interpretation in order to defend your use of some big words.

>Says the guy who has been posting fallacies almost every single post now.
I've lost all trust in your ability to identify fallacies.

>it's still pointless name calling which is almost as bad.
Reread the section and the >inb4. This misinterpretation is exactly what I tried to avoid. And yet here we are. Funny, isn't it?

>Once again, an ad hominem is an argument, not a feeling
Exactly the point of an ad hominem. Rather than provide an actual argument, you decided to attack the "tone" of my post, which is ad hominem. I don't even think you know what an ad hominem even means, because you actually just said that an ad hominem us an argument, even though it's definitely not. Let that just sink in for a second.
>I've lost all trust in your ability to identify fallacies
Do you actually need me to go through each of your posts and specifically point out each one? I had already had no trust in your argumentative abilities, yet some how I just lost a little more I didn't even know I had.
>Reread the section and the >inb4. This misinterpretation is exactly what I tried to avoid. And yet here we are. Funny, isn't it?
I see that your whole "self inserting as someone who actually reads posts" thing didn't go so well, huh? I actually explicitly stated that post wasn't ad hominem, but I have a feeling your just trying to find things to suit your flawed logic now. But, as >>27567609 said, this is getting a bit redundant. You'll never admit your error, and in your defense, I wouldn't admit mine either if I was in your shoes.

If you watched the last episode you can see that rainbow is close to flutters family. It was cute seeing the interactions between Dash and the shys.

Thought it would be a cute writing prompt cause of that. Have anon tag along or something.

I can see the first two being combined, like there's a two family get-together or flutter's parents invited dashie's entire family, but don't fuck yourself over by writing three entirely different one-offs in a day or trying to pack three prompts into one story.
>>
>>27567941
That's a great idea... as long as the little interactions aren't lost due to there being too many characters.
>>
>>27564862
The green I wrote above is sort of an answer to this. I'm thinking that for whatever reason Dash wasn't home a lot and spent a lot of time at the Shy residence when she wasn't practicing her flying. Butterhorse would be a kind of best-friend/sister relationship with the Shy parents treating her like a daughter/favorite neighbor. horsepun

>>27567852
Rainbow Blaze surprise visits Ponyville to celebrate his daughter joining the Wonderbolts first string and is surprised to find her in a relationship with everyponie's favorite alien.

Also, I've always thought of her as an only child, but in a kind of brother-like antagonistic relationship with those colts from flight camp who razz her on a regular basis.
>>
>>27567781
>attack the "tone" of my post
Simply "attacking" (actually commenting on) the tone of a speaker and nothing else is not an ad hominem. It's an attack. Period. You're using your own incorrect definition of ad hominem.

You think it was stupid to consider that Dash and Fluttershy weren't actually all that close as fillies? I've been trying to think of a scene that cemented that notion, but nothing came to mind.
Obviously seeing them remain friends shows there's a bond there, but not necessarily a really strong one. The last episode did give that impression though since Dash knew Fluttershy's family well, so I was just wondering opinions prior to that point

Before the new ep I thought that RD and Flut were friends, but not necessarily besties. Incoming headcanon: Rainbow Dash was sensitive to Fluttershy getting bullied for being a below average flyer since she was always fighting her own self doubt and worries about inadequacy. She started to stick up for her and hang out with her to make her feel better and also because it's what she thinks an awesome pony should do for somepony in trouble. Rainbow Dash is always trying to fit her own definition of an ideal role model. Always smile, never back down, never show weakness, never be cruel or mean. She believes that 'Awesome Ponies' act this way and so she tries to be like that too. After the Rainboom and cutie marks came, Fluttershy found her niche in life and didn't need RD nearly as much to go forward and be her own pony so they drifted a bit. They remained friends, but had few shared interests so they weren't super close until they connected through Twilight. The new episode modifies that a bit, but I still hold to most of it.

Also, incoming update.

>"Well done, little Alicorn. I'm surprised you reached the correct conclusion so quickly!"
>Rainbow immediately leaps and spins around putting herself between you and the new voice with her wings spread and her head low ready for a fight.
>You find that you've also leaped back to you hooves and have a repulsion spell crackling along your horn ready to fire.
>A rather coltish pony seemingly formed out of a silvery, glittering mist with two stubby horns sits comfortably in mid-air softly applauding your analysis with a faint smile.
>"We so rarely get any visitors from the living world in our humble little corner of U̧̨͈̳͉̭͙̪͈̠͍̔͊́ͧ̆̅N̊̑̈̎̊ͦ́̅̚͏͖̟̪̗͖͟I͔̤̼̹͉͍̼̪ͯ̅ͪ͂ͪ́N̛͕̬̙͓͙͚̱̮̓ͧ́͜T͐͐҉̮͓͙̙̫͖E̗̤̥͙̣͔ͪ̋ͅL̮̥͉̟̩̓̿͝L̛̛͉͚̇ͥ͞I̞̝͇̿̒̊ͪ̅͗̚G̡̛̭̞̩ͩͣ̄ͬ̾̐͋̍̾͟Ỉ̧͎̮̙ͨ̉̏́̃͟B̷̛̙̣̰̪̙͆͋͛̒̆ͩ̀L͗͋͏̶̧͚̳̺͖̼ͅÉ͖̤̹̥̪͓̾ͣ̉͢."
>You shake your head to clear the static of that last word. Curiosity starts to bubble up past your apprehension.
"We didn't exactly come for tea. Who...er, what are you?"
>"Stay back, Twilight! I didn't see him with the others, but he could still be-"
>"Oh gods forfend! I have nothing to do with those boorish clods. Nor do I have any intention of causing or bringing you any harm."
>"Yeah, right. I don't trust this guy, Twilight."
>The spectre rolls onto his back and eyes Rainbow Dash with an amused expression.
>"You don't say..."
>>
>>27569348
>You step around Rainbow and gently nudge her with your wingtip.
"It's okay. Stay on guard, but we need some answers."
>"Now THAT'S the adventuring spirit! So, Twilight, right? I am Agathodaemon. Call me Agatho. What would you like to know?"
>Your mind spins into motion recalling everything you've learned about classical mythology and brings up the entry on agathodaemons.
>"Agatho-what? Are you, like, some kind of pony soul?"
>The mist-pony slowly rotates in place and smirks at Rainbow.
>"Hardly...but those..."
>He gestures at the clouds of synchronized swarming lights. Rainbow's gaze follows his hoof and her eyes widen at the implication.
"Agathodaemon. Spirits of luck, health, and wisdom. Often recognized as companion spirits to heroes and adventurers of the ancient world."
>"Ooh! Right again! It's nice to know that we're remembered fondly by the upstairs lot."
>"W-wait. Hold on a sec. Those are, y'know, ponies flying around up there?"
>Agatho pulls a silvery bit of himself into a string and starts making a cats cradle with his hooves and horns looking a bit disinterested.
>"They were when they yet lived. Those who pass before their allotted time for whatever reason or those who have abandoned the protection of they who would guide them come here. The Furies you saw earlier gather them up and take them to, oh wherever they feel they should go. It's all rather boring..."
>Rainbow gulps and looks over at you, but you have other questions burning in your mind.
"I've used the Oracle at Equus in Canterlot to go to Tartarus on official business before, but I've never been here. If this is Erebus how did we get here?"
>>
>>27569361
>Agatho's entire demeanor lights up like the sky over the Crystal Empire as he begins to float in circles.
>"THAT is a good question!"
>"Hey!"
>He sticks out his tongue at Rainbow.
>"The way that you arrived here..."
>He floats closer so that he's nearly nose to nose with you as Rainbow tenses up.
>"I have no idea!"
>He laughs and flings himself backwards through the air.
>You roll your eyes and start to heave a sigh when he suddenly flips and zooms right back into your face.
"Aack!"
>"BUT! I can tell you a few things, little Alicorn."
>Rainbow stops in mid-air, halfway through a flying tackle.
>"I can tell you that in this place, the strings of Fate play a beautiful and complex symphony of action, inaction, and consequence."
>He begins to slither through the air in a spectral dance no living thing could replicate.
>"Their melody and harmony slide and mix. Crash, and roll. Soar and dive. Always different. Always the same."
>He comes up abruptly and stares right through your eyes.
>"But in recent times, every so often something actually changes. Something from the living world, something Fantastic, rakes across the strings of Fate like a blade across a harp. Their timeless song is shorn from the anchors of reality for an instant and sent streaming in a thousand directions from the released tension."
>The intensity of his gaze is petrifying.
>"It shakes the very pillars of Heaven and the Fates are forced to move like they never have before to regain control and restring their instrument."
>>
>>27569388
>He barks a short laugh releasing you from his gaze as he swims gracefully away.
>"And those old biddies sometimes fail to get it all back in the same place where it was."
>Rainbow ruffles her wings and looks between you curiously.
>"So, that means...the song changes?"
>You both look at her with mild surprise causing her to look slightly bashful and defiant at the same time.
>"What? I'm paying attention!"
>Agatho flows toward her and she physically holds herself from backing away.
>"Indeed. But today was even more different..."
>He begins to slide around her as close as he possibly can with a very curious and interested look on his face making Rainbow more nervous by the second.
>"H-hey, back off!"
>"...different because Today, the strings of Fate weren't just cut for an instant..."
>You start to walk toward them. Agatho's strangeness is uncomfortable at best.
>Agatho stops directly in front of Rainbow, fixing her with that paralyzing stare of his.
>"...it's like the whole of the instrument was cast from atop the Mount, and hurled all the way to Tartarus..."
>Rainbow's eyes are wide as dinner plates and she begins to quiver under his powerful hold. Light starts to flare up your horn.
>"...and now that I look at you, my little pony, I can see quite clearly the marks left on your essence by those shredding threads of causality...just exactly what-"
>You see Rainbow's chest start to hitch as she struggles to breathe and release your magic, instantly teleporting Rainbow Dash out from under his eyes to behind your outstretched wings.
>>
>>27569405
"Enough, Agatho. I think I understand what you're saying, but keep your mind warp to yourself, please."
>He glares offended at you for a moment, but then shrugs and resumes his liesurely swim through empty space.
>"Fine, fine. I doubt I'd discover what I wanted to know in any case. You ponies can be so confoundingly thick sometimes..."
>"Hey! You-"
>You spin around quickly and motion Rainbow to silence and mutter a quick whisper
"Don't let him get to you. He's just mad he can't influence us both. I still need some more information so back me up if he tries anything."
>Rainbow winks at you.
>"Got it."
>You turn back toward Agatho and take a deep breath.
>"Done with your little pow-wow?"
"For now, yes. So, tell us how we can get out of here."
>Agatho's face splits in an almost feral grin.
>"Finally, the Right question."

First things first, I'm really loving this. I like shorter one shots, but it's nice to read a longer, more intricate on every now and then. I have only one criticism though. Everyonce in a while, you have a descriptive sentence that seems to run on too long without any commas or breaks.

“That fucking retard” was civil enough not to call others fucking retards. By the way I recognize your particular shitposting style and inane reasoning. This isn’t the first time you’ve done this shit. It happens so often that you get involved in these endless pointless arguments. I don’t see them nearly as often in other M6 threads. I’m tired of seeing this shit here as I’m sure everyone is. You’re extremely opinionated, touchy, and defensive. You lash out at anything and anybody showing the least sign of dissent from your dogmatic views. You love to wage internet fights against others just for the sake of convincing your cognitive dissonance -ridden mind how right you are and how wrong they are. You are a substantial cause of irrelevant crap cluttering our threads on top of making us look like morons.

Alright, just for you Anon.

"Alright alright, hold on, I'm coming!"
>You drop the wooden utensle in your mouth and leave your pot to stop the oven timer.
>Just as you turn off the timer, you hear a loud explosion coming from the pot you just left on the range.
>You turn around just in time to see the aftermath of a sauce exsplosion, spanning across the entire countertop.
>You throw your hooves up in exasperation.
"Sweet Celestia, gimme a break, would ya?"
>You are the "best" chef in Equstria, Rainbow Dash.
>Today is the 11 month anniversary of your and Anon's first date.
>Every month, the two of you stay at home for the night, and Anon cooks a huge meal.
>He's a great cook, and he knows all of your favorite foods, so he usually ends up cooking everything.
>Ok fine, he ALWAYS cooks the dinner.
>And cleans up afterwards.
>Not this month though!
>You got Fleetfoot to cover your shift for todays usual cloud clearing over Ponyville, so youve been home for about an hour.
>While Anon was at work, you thought you'd suprise him by cooking tonights dinner for a change.
>The look on his face when he finds out I'm even better at cooking then he is will be priceless!
>However, you forgot one tiny issue.
>You have no idea how to cook anything outside of a sandwich or a proteine shake.
>Remebering the food, you reach into the oven and pull out a very burnt chicken breast, served with a side of char.
>After you turn off the oven, you turn your attention to the sauce massicer on your counter.
"How the buck does Anon do this? He makes it look so easy!"
>You pull the pot of sauce off the range quickly to prevent more mess.
>The pot of pasta right next to it is long past the point of boiling, and looks close to boiling over.
"That means it's done, right?"
>You remove it from the pot from the burner, but forget to put on your oven mitts, and burn your hoof on the hot metal.
"OWW!"
>>
>>27571590
>In your pain, you drop the pot of water on the floor, causing it to splash everywhere.
>You internally facepalm as you get some ice from the freezer for your hoof.
"Come on Rainbow, you can do this. Anon can do it, and you're wayyy more awesome then he is!"
>Out of pure habit, you follow up with:
"No offence Anon."
>As you pick up the pot from the floor (with mitts on this time), you glance up at the clock on the wall.
>It reads 5:20 on the nose.
"Ah buck, Anon's going to be home soon! I can't let him see this mess, or I'll never hear the end of it!"
>You rush to the closet and grab the mop to clean up the water mess on the floor.
>You scramble into the dining room to finish plateing dinner before moving onto the mess in the kitchen.
>Just as you finish hiding the dirty towels, you can hear the front door swing open.
>"Dashie, I'm home! You ready for some of my world famous cooki-"
..........
>You are Anon.
>You just got home from a long day at work, and are ready to start cooking dinner.
>But it looks like diner's already done and the table's already set.
>What the hell?
>As if on cue, your favorite mare rounds the corner from the kitchen into the dining room.
>"Surprise!"
"Wow Dash,.... What's all this?"
>She motions to the food on the table.
>"I got home early, so I went ahead and made dinner! I hope you're hungry, because you're gonna want a lot of this."
>After taking off your shoes, you pull out a chair and sit down at the table.
"Oh, is that so?"
>"You bet! I made it myself, so its gonna be awesome, right? Just try not to feel bad knowing I'm the better chef."
>She flashes you a smug smile as she takes her seat across from you.
>You look down at the food infront of you.
>Everything on this plate looks like it just went ten rounds with a flamethrower.
>You didn't even know it was possible to burn pasta.
>You look up from your plate to see Dash staring at you expectantly.
>Well, no backing out now.

>You're pretty sure that this kind of food is what they serve to violent prisoners.
>Everything is horribly burnt, and the chicken is as dry as Marco Rubios mouth.
>As you swallow you first bite with a loud gulp, Dash is still staring at you intensely.
>"Well? How was it? Pretty great, huh?"
>As "non-positive" your actual feelings are, you could never even imagine saying anything to hurt Rainbows feelings.
"Damn, this is delicious Dash. Who know how great of a cook you were?"
>You eat another mouthful, backing up your statement.
>Dash beams at your complement, her entire face lighting up and splitting with a huge smile.
>She grabs a mouthful of the food on her fork.
>"Well, I can't say I'm surprised. Im awesome at everything else, so why not cooking?"
>You chuckle at her boastfulness as she puts the food in her mouth.
>After holding it in her mouth for a while, she instantly spits it back out on her plate, and her entire face shrivels up.
>Doing your best to stifle a giggle, you down another mouthful.
"What's wrong Dash?"
>Not wanting to admit her minimal culinary skills, she quickly makes something up.
>"N-nothing, I'm just..... Not in the mood for chicken! Yea, that's it."
>You put your fork back down on the plate and smile at her.
"Well, do you want me to cook you something else then?"
>"You could do that, or..... We could order a pizza."
>She has an almost pleading smile on her face, which is way to cute to resist.
"Alright, but I expect to be repayed in full with cuddles."
>The usual pinkish hue creeps its way back onto her face and she crosses her forelegs.
>"Fine, deal. But I get to pick the toppings!"
>Dash stands from the table and starts clearing it while you contact the pizza place.
>Just as you go to place your order, you're caught off guard by a hug.
>You look down to see Rainbow around your chest, looking up at you with two adorable eyes.
>"Thanks for not making fun of the food Nonny. I guess I'm not a very good chef, huh?"
>>

>You return the warm embrace, wrapping your long arms around her, holding her tight.
"If you made it Dash, then I think it was great, no matter what."
>She nuzzles your chest slightly with her chin.
>"Happy 11th anniversary Anon, I love you."
"Happy 11th Dash, I love you too."
>Almost instantaneously, she puts back on her usual attitude after breaking the embrace.
>"You know, I think I might just stick around for another month."
"Is that right?"
>She gives you a light tap on the shoulder.
>"Well yea, so long as I'm getting free pizza out of it."
FIN
Alright Anons, lemme know what you think.

Uuuuhhh church.... um. That imagie is beyond lewd.
>>
>>27571697
Nice as always Church. Rubio joke made me kek. If I may take a moment to nit-pick: Pony eating meat is kinda weird, cooking it for a lover is nice but still weird to eat it. "You are Anon" announcement is entirely unnecessary in nearly any conceivable situation. You even did a dash break in between sections to signify the perspective change so just trust your readers to know who's talking from context. Everything else was pretty smooth.

Thanks Rosen, that seemed kinda awkward to me too.

Like Rosen said, I thought the whole Anon transition was kinda akward. Other than that, this was a good story, and im glad to see you back to writing.

The first section switched between "you" and "I" at least once when both referring to Dashie. There was also a bunch of spelling errors, but most look like they should be caught by a spell checker.

I loved it though

I know I say the same thing almost every green you post, but when I read this, and I think about the swimming with Dash green, it's really cool how good you've gotten. You must have a hell of a capacity for learning, cause you got gud faggit almost over night. I still see a few things you need to work on, but it was still really cute like usual.
>>
>>27571938
Yea, I forgot to run the first post through a spell checker, but there shouldn't be any errors past the first post.

Ponies have been known to eat meat occasionally. AJ ate a ham sandwich once, and Fluttershy fed two live fish to some animals, meaning that whilemit is rare, ponies do eat meat every once in a while.

While we're on the subject of Newbie Dash, I've become suddenly conflicted about that episode. While taken outside the context of the show, it's a very solid episode. All the characters are spot on, the dialogue is crisp and interesting, the plot is well done and mostly believable. But as I was watching old episodes today, I watched the season 1 finale, and after the at the gala song something suddenly didn't sit right with me about Newbie Dash. Joining the Wonderbolts wasn't just another job to Dash. It was something she'd been pursuing for her entire life. The way it played out in Newbie Dash makes sense in our world, because most of the time accomplishing your goal turns out to not be all it's cracked up to be, but in the world of the show that isn't how things had ever worked out up 'till that point. Twilight became a princess in a blaze of glory, Rarity's shops opened with minimal strife and to acclaim, etcetera. The only episode even comparable in tone was Pinkie Pride, and that one spent like half the episode establishing Ponk's excellence, and building her back up again after it was challenged, with only about half of it being about breaking her down. With Newbie Dash, the breakdown is padded out to almost the entire episode length, so the establishing and rebuilding take a back seat and feel very short, even if they still function fine. So in the context of the show, Newbie Dash just doesn't fit.

The big difference is that Rainbow Dash's opinion of the Wonderbolts was inflated by her and her alone. They are respected and liked in Equestria, but she put them on a pedestal that no pony could really reasonably achieve. Hers is a story that at once is a cautionary tale on the problems with blind idol worship, and again a tale about achieving your dreams despite harsh realities. It wasn't sudden either. As RD interacted with the WB's more and more she kept having to realize that they are just normal ponies with some serious skill. They weren't gods, or paragons, or even nice all the time. She had to come to terms with the fact that ponies are real, have lives, dreams, terrors, etc. We didn't need airtime showing Dash's excellence since that's every Other episode. She's not the one being broken down, the Wonderbolts are. Dash makes headway a bit by realizing that not everypony who calls her Crash realizes it's a trigger word for her, but she develops more by realizing that her idols are just normal pegasi. She's been struggling with this through the whole series, and in Newbie Dash she finally comes to terms with it and not only feels more comfortable accepting them for who they really are, but reaffirms her desire to become the best of them as an example of what she thinks they 'could' be.

Or that's what I think anyway...

Hey guys, what are some of the best Anon x Dash fics there is?
>>
>>27574016
Ut Ameture Iris
Xenophilia is alright
If you like one shots, Church, Scribble, and WNrite have some top shelf stuff
>>
>>27574030
don't forget Crunchbite.
RIP.
although honestly he only has like 3 good ones.
>>
>>27574043
Unfortunately with Crunchbite most of his greens revolve around
>horse pussy
Same thing with WNrite. Dont get me wrong, I love Dash horse pussy, however, I also like reading other Dash stuff, which is why I included Church and Ut Ameture Iris, those are both pure sappy/cute stuff, balancing out all the smut.
>>
>>27574074
Eh true.
The few ones that he had that weren't about horse pussy were kinda meh, but some of them are pretty good. I still really like Sick Anon. http://pastebin.com/1eCW0mRj

>>27574137
Yea, SickAnon and the one about the Wonderbolts show (despite being kinda cringy) are my favorites.
