Just slotting commentary into a quest where it doesn't really belong. I always found that sort of thing pretty jarring in quests, especially when Arch does it.

Beginning was shaky, constant overuse of ellipses, relied pretty heavily on memes, and I really didn't like Pen.

Threshold gave me some fuzzy feelings a few times. Squishy, the ghost kid, Fozzle. The Harshwhinny christmas thing was kinda good too, in that regard. And oh, of course Heat and DFU. And, not gonna lie, as shameful as it is the fourth chapter of Hijack made me squee like an underage fangirl. There are tons of other moments that made me feel good in cyoas, a lot more than I can remember.

what's there to address? most feedback for QMs is vague and it boils down to the same few key points. something more tangible will lead to more specific questions which will give more meaningful answers. I'm sure a lot of QMs wonder why exactly their players prefer bath's art or fins characters or whatever. you don't have to answer that. that doesn't mean you should just beat down the idea instantly.
and not to sound edgy, but who cares if someone's feelings get hurt? that's how everybody gits gud at anything. doesn't 4chan frown on the whole hugbox mentality? saying other QMs are better at x than you doesn't mean you suck and you should kill yourself. it should either be ignored if the QM isnt interested in improving or looked into if they are.

This thread talks a lot about how players need strong prompts from their QM's, but QM's also need to take cues and ideas from their players because a CYOA can only be as good as the ideas a QM has for it. If a QM hits a dead spot and has nothing in reserve to do with it, the whole game stalls.

This. I can say Trottingham was as good as, say, Buttquest, but it might be for very different reasons. It doesn't say what their flaws or qualities are. If anything it indicates how I feel about playing / reading a particular quest more than another, and since it's a subjective opinion it cannot apply everywhere, and it might even be completely wrong.
Essentially you learn nothing of value out of something as simple as a comparative ranking.
