I wish I could do that. I get so bored. Still-life bores me incredibly so but I know there's a lot to gain from it.

Don't sell yourself so short. I like that pic because it tells a story. Make someone laugh. Make them feel something. That's all it takes. I see so many crazy-good pony artists but so many of them lack story elements in their works. They just want to make a pretty pony making a pose and I guess that's all right for some people. But at the end of the day it's just a pretty pony making a pose. I didn't really feel anything from it. It's why I like guys like kanashiipanda who always try to tell a story no matter how insane it is.

Ever since I was a kid I absolutely hated drawing man-made things and people, so I developed a love of still lifes and landscapes. Unfortunately I can only manage the former, and only barely.

Yeah, I wanted to convey a story when I drew it. Technically my skill isn't there but you can tell what I wanted to do. I've drawn pretty ponies making poses, and I draw headshots a lot. Only so much you can convey.

I just keep trying to try new poses and such no matter how much I fuck them up, just so I don't get more stagnant.

Ah. They're similar to pens I already have. Not bad. i tend to switch a lot depending on my mood. Lately I've been using a small plain hard brush with the sensitivity way down so the lines come out very light and gradually darken.

I recently started listening to podcasts while drawing. I feel like I can follow them without it distracting me from the drawing. Music I'm always inclined to sing or hum along to, even if they're instrumentals. Video of any sort I end up watching the visuals instead of creating ones.

I've been listening to RadioLab mostly, but also a little bit of Myths and Legends. I've been meaning to check out Freakonomics as well.

It's pretty solid man. A few wobbly lines and restated lines here and there but it isn't anything to complain about. That far rear leg looks a tad off. I really like the forms you gave the wing.

You can make really nice shinies by using a white gel pen or a correction pen. Pic related.

I judge "likeness" on if it even gets a reaction. Granted, I don't care too much if it does get a reaction, but if it doesn't it helps me in the decision that I need to work on things a little more.

Right now I'm practicing projecting proportions so that I can turn a head using the key features of the head.

If you need to know how much of the cheek to show, just draw the entire cheek area before putting in the muzzle. I practiced pone heads without muzzles for a while just to begin understanding it.
