The main struggle would be the opposition between those two characters : The Gunner is a soldier who doesn't see suffering, to whom death is reduced to a simple ballistic calculation. Meanwhile the Observer sees all this destruction that her friend inflicts, but because of radio procedure cannot actually talk about it, only "Rounds on target" or "Collateral".

Why was there never an alicorn in almost ten centuries after Luna's banishment?
Alicorns as they exist in the show are exceptional creatures. They don't seem to be just another race of pony, but rather a combining of the traits of all three. If a pony was born with both wings and horn, I'd be willing to bet that would not be a pure alicorn, but rather a winged unicorn or pegacorn lacking the earth pony traits.

I'm going from the TCG since its Hasbro official.
But it lists that many alicorns are partials or singles, not all three races in one.
Were I too hazard a guess, given the sisters are all three, three in one is the most powerful, the god level, with singles being the lowest, and dubs middle ground.
They are all still capable of great feats above any of the other races.
There may be a spark or mote of something to create an alicorn, but it doesn't seem to be an artificial thing, there is no boon of Faust you wear during sex to ensure that the foal is an alicorn.


Thus it could be reasonable to say the stable could do it, in light of Cadence being born before Twilight and thus appearing before Luna's return, and outside Celestia's possible "I'll allow another" field.

In addition, the IDW comics do have an unnamed canon alicorn in the official worldline, along with a number from false noncanon worlds.
So it would seem that alicorns did pop in, its just the named ones are all the important, represents something, versions.

The best way to be an alicorn though, remains the almighty animation error which has made a number of them pop into existence.

The CC was rather colorful with describing the various injuries, though apparently this was the no fatalities league. The game went into recess when an attempted pile onto the ball resulted in their spikes getting locked together and a set of angle grinders had to be broken out. Looking around there was a unicorn mare, an earth stallion and two unicorn stallions at the bar. While trying to perch more comfortably, a feather falls out. The mare catches it and shows it to one of the other unicorns and starts menacing him with it, the couple laughing gayly all the while.

You sit and munch on your burger a bit while chatting with Jim. He’s more than willing to give you a hand and show you around town. He laughs at the thought of you being stableborn, pointing that he saw how nervous you were going down the elevator this morning. You kept an eye on Bug though to see if his mood changed. You found out a bit more of your new home, most of the town lived in the mines, but they weren’t too strict since the unicorns could only smelt so much ore before needing to rest. Your job really would involve crawling in cramped dark sections of the mine and marking them for exploration. You pretty much froze at that, your claustrophobia making itself rather known in the form of a panic attack. Bug Zapper got up and started looking you over when you fell off your chair hyperventilating. He said he had some medicine that might help with the anxiety, but it wouldn’t work if you were in the middle of an attack. Bean was bit saddened that he caused you a problem, but you waved him off, pointing that your food was fine and the doctor spoke some at least.
You opened the bottle of everclear and started drinking, figuring it would help your nerves. It also loosened your tongue as you started telling your life story to an amused Jim. Zapper stuck around, nursing his drink and watching the game, but he did interject a few times into your little story, particularly when you first went into the stable and fell catatonic, then again in disbelief when you explained how there was an Enclave Taco Fiesta for graduating bootcamp. He ended up with his own bottle of everclear when you tried to explain how the cows were kept on clouds.

Scenario.
You have decided to bed down for the night in an abandoned building and found some supplies before you go to sleep.
Your partner is elsewhere and coming to you in the morning.

When you wake up, you hear a couple of scavengers talking and saying how they look forward to being home after an all nighter. It turns out the place wasn't so abandoned after all. They react with some hostility, however they do not draw weapons and demand compensation for your theft.

Your partner shows up a this time and blindisdes the scavver pair, crumpling one in on himself with a tackle and holding the other one down, offerring you a chance to put in a bullet in her head.

Would you try and smooth things over with the scavvers?
