A cylinder looks that same regardless of how you look at it. Cubes change profiles as they rotate around any axis, cylinders don't. i thought that'd be really easy to visualize but it appears like I'm dealing with a higher form of intelligence here.

Cylinder-Limb robots are honestly fantastic. They are simple in design sure but I honestly feel that simplicity isn't a downside in a lot of examples a clean silhouette can go a long way to make a robot look instantly recognizable.

Round limbs or other elements can also help put greater emphasis on the more visually distinct elements of a design.

One of the strengths the old Go nagai reimaginings have in terms of robot design. Is that because they all are basing off a simple standard theres a massive amount of potential to change up designs in new and interesting ways in re-imaginings.

what they pulled off with Groizer in shin mazinger z is actually really interesting example of what can be done with cylinder limb base when you really have no restrictions on having to make it look cool or heroic.
