Now this is how you fucking end a show. From start to finish, Ex-Aid has been a wild ride. Even when the writing fumbled a bit, it never stopped being entertaining, and it was always a blast to watch week after week. I'm going to miss this show and its cast so much after all the V-Cinemas are done. Ex-Aid is definitely one of the best shows we've gotten in years. I hope Build isn't awful.

It has much better fighting scenes than the other spring crossovers and also features many characters from different periods of the franchise, rather than focusing only a couple. Even suit-only characters got at least one real fighting scene and got to use their finishers and some (like Black and Fourze) had small roles.

Watch the showa ending though. Either way though, it has a weak excuse for a Showa vs Heisei battle, and at the very end there's a final and really rushed Heisei vs Showa battle just for the "two endings" gimmick. Most people who dislike it generally dislike it due to that final bit.

I was thinking about their deaths, and comparing with other ones such as Ankh and Chas it felt really shallow in comparison.
But then it occurred to me, wouldn't I be feeling this way about them too if they were brought back like Poppy? Or were their deaths really better handled than now?

Ankh was obviously dying for a long time, and although Chase wasn't slowly dying, in those final episodes suddenly every Roidmude was falling apart after finishers, which made things pretty dangerous for him.

Both Poppy and Parad just died out of nowhere last week, without any build up or foreshadowing.

The audience knew for sure that Poppy and Parado weren't dead because they've been advertising the fact that they weren't dead for months now by showing the trailers for the sequel movie in which they are quite visibly not dead. The point isn't to be upset that they're dead. The point is to show their growth as characters from when they started: in Poppy's case it reflects how the group as a whole has changed from the first arc where they all hated one another, and in Parado's case it shows that he now understands the value of life enough for his sacrificing it to mean something to him.

Overall I enjoyed Ex-Aid, but the height of the show was definitely when Dan was the main villain, and after hitting the 30s I thought it really went downhill. It was a pretty good finale, but I'm ready to move onto Build.

Better ending and frankly a better cast of characters is what let Ex-Aid beat out Gaim for me. I enjoyed watching Gaim week-by-week, but the more I recall of it the more I realize that I really just didn't like many of the characters.

Good series, liked the entire ride we went through, ended up enjoying most suits in the end, ended up enjoying pretty much every character, the only thing I thought was a bit much was them redeeming Dan and Parad being redeemed so late made me feel "eh" about the whole thing. Thanks RTA and Excite for sticking through with subbing this show. Can't wait for the True Ending and V-Cinema stuff now.

We ended up being in a huge CMV and doing some henshin sequences for it, and ended up like talking about Metal Heroes and doing the ToQGer pose at the end before we all disbanded / left.

I'm working with a few locals to see if we can start getting Tokusatsu stuff officially sanctioned at cons here in Ohio now, just so there's actually an active place for us to meet up from now on. Seeing the community really made me happy, and my buddy and I have been planning to do Graphite and Perfect Knock Out.
