I've enjoyed a lot of Masamune's tricks, I will say. And I completely agree with the similarities to Kuroto.
Recruiting Hiro, bringing back Kiriya to prove he could revive Saki (and conveniently nullify the Gemdeus virus), the Energy Item binder, even the Reset at the end of 40 was satisfying to me.
It felt very earned by Masamune's canny determination to stay in the game as unsportingly as necessary.
Masamune has been a fantastic villain.

Here's a theory concerning the Tokimeki plothole: think of the Gashatrophies as tangible, IRL rewards separate from the game world. They're like... fuckin' Skylanders, basically. Let's say you take part in a special private event, and as thank you Activision gifts you a Skylander. If they roll back that event, you don't magically lose the toy you received as a result.

They don't actually exists in the game space until you activate them, and then they enter it - that's why they WERE effected when the team was about to summon Gamedeus. Until then though, they're just a useless piece of plastic that commemorates your progress.

Personally speaking, I liked normal Cronus' black and green with the bits silver, and even the red inner trenchcoat.

Meanwhile, Gamedeus had black, gold, red, and silver. The gold is basically limited to the shoulders, helmet, trenchcoat and a little bit on the chest (front and back views). The gold also looks "dirtish" for the lack of a better term. The colors on Gamedeus Cronus just don't feel coherent to me as normal Cronus.

Of course. Its success pretty much solidified crossovers as a continuous thing for Rider again, rather than a one off.

I kind of wish anyone but Kaneda had directed it though. The movie's success (number 1 box office out of any Rider movie) seemed to pretty much guarantee his career for years, even though the movie was flawed and afterwards he just got lazier rather than improving himself.

This movie some neat things like how he created things like Stronger's denshock and Skyrider's leap with practical effects, but even by Let's Go kamen riders he just had all past Riders aside from 1 and 2 posing, not to mention that in spite of their grand entrance they didn't even get proper fighting scenes against the movie's antagonists.
