>Of course wehraboos still shit on it for not portraying the Wehrmacht in 1945 as invincible aryan super soldiers
You really don't need to be a wehraboo to make part of the abrangent club of people that shits on Fury. A lot of people even call it a disservice to the american fighting man of ww2, and is not difficult to see why. Our main cast is not just a bunch of stereotypes of war movie cliche characters (tough guy commander, random latino, bible crazy hick, replacement rookie who dont know if he can kill) they are also a bunch of psychos and rapists that kill prisoners of war for fun and generally just act as assholes. Its like they are characters from a Nazi propaganda about American soldiers.
The movie also achieved the feat of making all the fighting scenes look stupid. Be it the scene with the Tiger that simply abandons cover to pursue a stupid frontal attack and which, for magical meme reasons, his armor bounces off the Sherman 76 mm just few meters away. Be the scene where the SS soldiers totally forgot common sense and charge straight ahead against a immobile target that they could just flank, just to be killed in the droves. Or the one that almost make me have a heart attack every time I see, that is three Shermans driving slowly in straight line in a vast open terrain against fire from camouflaged pak guns, who continuously misses shots.
The movie is too far aways from being a serious war drama. Is more like a film version of a "Sgt. Fury and his Howling Commandos" comic story. Is a dumb movie with high production values.

Tank doctrine - no, all military doctrine - was extremely experimental in the interwar years. WWI was a massive fuckfest because nobody was entirely certain how to utilize new developments.
The massive hulking trench-crossing tanks of WWI weren't really all that great, so people started from the ground up both to train tankers and to gain experience for creating better tank designs. You can't just start off baking layer cakes, you start with loaves of bread.

But aren't cyborgs just mechanically / cybernetically enhanced humans? No blood would mean androids / synth / robots / whatever.
Also killing humans is pretty human, many humans do that, even more enjoy and / or are employed in the industry that sprouted around that entire concept.

European censorship did give us this version of Contra.

Look closer, the powder is separate but not caseless
>>15750663
You know you're an /m/ poster when you first heard about Probotector and thought the Europeans were the lucky ones.
>>15750663
One of those exceptionally rare instances when censorship was actually an improvement.
Just bought AMX 13 F3 in WoT.
I know it's not a tank, but it's still an AFV.

"Rain... open-top tank... fucking great engineering!"

More concerned about vulnerability to small arms/infantry attack and artillery shells in wooded areas.
Which one do you think look better?

Anyone got a favorite no-name tank design? I personally love the AAI Rapid Deployment Force/Light Tank. The 75mm autocannon, the well-sloped armor...and the potential ability to mount Stinger quad packs!
Apparently the only reason they cancelled it was because it didn't use the 105mm cannon based on the L7, despite the fact the ARES 75mm actually had better ballistic performance.
>>15758294
Problem is we didn't have a shitload of ARES 75mm guns lying around with warehouses full of ammo and a brand new APFSDS that made anything armed with it, ever, a dangerous threat again.

French tanks are so cool.
>>15759407
I don't get it.
>>15758294
You mean the Mauler?
>>15758294
I liked the T92. Such a cute turret, also well-protected for a light tank.
But noooo, Congress insisted that the next US light tank should float, like the PT-76.
And so, many, many years later, the US got the Sheridan.
>>15759762
I got your Mauler right here!
>>15759785
>Congress insisted that the next US light tank should float, like the PT-76.
>And so, many, many years later, the US got the Sheridan.
Apparently they reconsidered (or forgot about) the prerequisite ability to float.
>>15759809
Sheridan was never meant to float, Bradley would have been a better choice seeing as it needs special equipment to float.
>>15761543
>Sheridan was never meant to float
Apparently they insisted on it anyway since they gave it flotation gear.
>Badly would have been a better choice seeing as it needs special equipment to float
Yet it sinks like a rock anyway even without bullet holes perforating the flotation screen.

I wonder what Henry Boisvert would have to say about that showcase performance.
>>15762137
The guy whose lies made his company pay the government millions of dollars because he was making shit up about the Bradley?
Who cares what that guy has to say on anything?
>>15762216
Pfc. George Wilson does, I'll bet. Or rather, Pfc. George Wilson's surviving relatives.
>>15762241
Do you not realize that the total of only a SINGLE soldier's death over the entire CAREER of the Bradley's fording career is an achievement?
Besides, Wilson should have actually taken the precautions all drivers took, rather than rushing things the way he did. There's a reason the Army didn't have to pay out for his death.
>>15762264
>fording
Moving the goalpost already? We were talking about swimming. That having been said, he didn't have to rush; even entering the water at only HALF the designated maximum speed results in the vehicle foundering immediately upon ingress. But by all means, keep blaming the victim for the vehicle's failure to live up to its proponents' empty promises.
>>15762340
Swimming, sorry, mistaken terminology on my part.
Either way, I feel no need to defend a vehicle from stupid drivers. THERE IS A REASON THE ARMY DIDN'T HAVE TO PAY OUT TO WILSON'S FAMILY.
And you got any source to back up that "Flounders even at half-speed" claim?
>>15762360
>Flounders
I don't recall having put an "l" in there. That being said, the evidence was a videotape of footage taken aboard a Badly that entered the water to evaluate its swimming performance and immediately sank. Audio featured dialogue between the crew verifying that the vehicle had entered at only 2.5 mph. And here's the real kicker: the videotape was from THE MANUFACTURER'S OWN ARCHIVAL MATERIALS.
>>15762377
You want to source it, dick for brains?
>>15762383
I just did.
>>15762389
So I'm just supposed to believe that this video exists?
>>15762394
It proved the case, didn't it?
>>15762402
The only manufacturer videos I've seen show the Bradley literally hovering across rivers.
>>15762409
Does the term "conflict of interest" mean anything to you?
>>15762433
The Russian tested those Bradley's the Saudi's sold them in '96.
It was interesting watching those Bradley's hover across the Volga.
>>15729502
I had that exact same one, the armored helipad, and the spinny smashy thing. SHit, I loved all of them, especially the squad leader customs.
>>15762443
Quite an interesting trick when they aren't even hovercraft.
>>15762450
It proves my case, doesn't it?
>>15762454
Strange that it floats for them yet it sinks for us. (not finding any material on that sale, by the way)
