What's the point of all that armor if they're gonna keep the pilot exposed?

Also, as cool as it looks, every time I see drawings like this I can't help but wonder who the fuck designed that thing? Who looked at the blueprints and thought it was a good idea? Did someone actually manufacture this? What kind of military organization would even field something like this?

Did you make it up to Time Spiral? In Time Spiral, it turned out Karn at some point got some glistening oil in him, meaning all the wandering he did was spreading the influence of Phyrexia. And that included Mirrodin.

So the Phyrexians started taking the plane over, as they are wont to doing, and swiftly started taking over everything. There was, of course, spirited resistance, including like four or five Planeswalkers. And the last set represented what Mirrodin became.

Honestly, I don't think I've ever hated a set more than New Phyrexia, because I love the Mirran aesthetic and cards and really hate the look and feel of Phyrexian cards. Throwing Mirrodin in the garbage to bring back Phyrexia was thus a terrible trade.
