Another black final form would be neat. But, the main issue is that nowadays they get multiple upgrades, so the final form really needs something to stand out.

Design-wise, the survive forms for example seem closer to a Boost or Jinba than a Formula/MaximumMigthy/Kachidoki or Kiwami/Mugen.

Drive kind of dodged the issue since its first upgrade was a mixed suit with Mach, leaving the design building on the basic form for the final form itself.

They didn't use any Final forms that required CG. Rising Ultimate, Strongest Complete and Super Tatoba made it there, but not Infinite Dragon or Gold Xtreme.

Super Climax has completely disappeared since Movie Wars 2010, so I guess the wings fell apart or something. It wasn't even included in the Let's Go Kamen Riders net movies, which seemed to feature every single Rider suit they had at the time.

Gaim is the only series in recent years that I thought had a satisfying ending. The final battle is between 2 rivalries that existed from the beginning instead of against some random final boss that was never mentioned until halfway through the show.

The choice to let the Kureshima bros live was also something that ended up really liking. Killing off Micchi would be too easy on him. Now he has to be tormented by his sins and try to atone for them under the guidance of Takatora, who is really the only person left that's fit for the job.

Then Gaim's half in Full Throttle was such a great epilogue with writing that's on par with the main show, which is rare for movie wars.

Gaim's ending really brought the whole show down for me. Mai becomes a mcguffin and Kouta and Kaito fight over who gets to own her. It turns what is meant to be a clash of ideologies into a cross between shoujo drama and a whingey feminist's wet dream.

I feel like its something Inoue wanted to do but ended up recycling when he got the head writer job. The novel adaption (half Orpenoch baby, Kusaka rape Mari, etc...) and the sequel is what he wanted to do with the idea, compared to the show which got toned down and merchandising added.
The overall plot doesn't seems too bad, from the summary its a lot closer to Paradise Lost in tone, the "zombie" invasion is a real problem and humanity is actually threatened, compared to how it was in the series where Orphenochs race as a whole was a non factor beyond being mons of the week.

Most series often has issues in the last 2 categories. Writing Toku is hard. You have to write 4 cours while accounting for actor/actress health, merchandising, retool, etc... on the fly. Most Rider series get stuck past the halfway mark where the plot just kind of lull in filler hell for 10-15 episodes before entering the endgame.

Drive's ending felt pretty good. Sigma's a shit and the Ghost episode wasn't really necessary, but it still had a really good moment for Shin to cap off the show, Banno's death was satisfying as hell, and the Mach/Heart V-Cinema capped off both Heart and Gou's development pretty well, like the Full Throttle Gaim epilogue did for Michy and Takatora.

Wizard's ending is actually pretty good all things considered, especially when compared to the rest of the series. Fourze and OOO were good, despite the slow 30-40 section. Double would've been good if Phillips didn't come back straight away the week after.

Its mainly the Phase 1 series that had problems ending things. Pretty much everything from Agito to Decade, bar Blade. Phase 2 from Gaim onward had too many preliminary forms that takes about 10 episodes to showcase then never use again, and a slow post final-form debut section before the endgame starts.

I consider that 3 is more important than 4. You can deliver a satisfying ending, but if the path towards it was shit, it would backfire. For example Drive does an excellent work in all points except 3, and in the end it makes you feel that the show isnt as good as it really is.
Fourze for example does a good job in every point. Until episodes 15-16 it keeps your attention with new switches. Then in episode 17 they introduce Meteor and start doing more world building, that continues until episode 32 with the Cosmic States. After that episode the start to gain momentum towards the climax introducing new Horoscopes. And then you have a great final in spite of the Kengo thing.

But it's true. I love Fujioka, but the man was lanky as fuck, the clothes gave him the appearance of any sort of bulk. Seriously, there's a picture of him shirtless out there where he's doing his pose and his obliques are so small I thought they were his ribs for the longest time. He was chosen through one of those modeling/talent competitions just like most modern Heisei protagonists which at the time focused mostly on looks, acting chops, and stunt skills. A lot of toku actors from the 70s to the the early 90s were mostly "stunt idols" (talent that were advertised by Sonny Chiba's agency the Japan Action Club as being capable of all sorts of stunt work and going on to do fucktons of martial arts movies, though things rarely worked out like that) as opposed to models/musicians like today.

Doesn't change the fact Fujioka's got a manly as hell voice and the a pair of eyebrows that could win fights on their own, but you can't pretend he was some jacked manly man.
