Of course it isn't. Toku is just a medium, not a genre or franchise. Toku is no more /m/ than animation or video games are. Individual toku shows are, just like individual anime and video games. There's nothing more /m/ about Marcross 7 or Tekkaman than Super Sentai or Kamen Rider. Nor about Guyver in comparison to Garo for that matter.

There's not much to deal with, even if I felt it was something unpleasant in the first place. The mods may have decreed that all toku is /m/, but they still deleted several Sailor Moon toku threads, and most toku threads are for either Kamen Rider, Super Sentai, Ultraman or Garo - 3 out of the 4 of which have obvious mecha anyways, while the remaining one, Garo, is pretty obviously mecha inspired at the very least and is about as power armor as Guyver. Metal Heroes or a few other shows get the odd thread, but most of the other toku that do are also pretty /m/. There have been a few other fringe cases, like The Hero Yoshihiko and Aoi Honoo but they only got a few threads total and were mostly here on a similar basis to how Devilman, Violence Jack or whatever else is: they're from mecha creators or concern them or whatever, and frankly, no other board is interested in them, so they're /m/ since most people simply don't care to object and they barely register as a blip on the radar given how quiet they are.

Neither is anime or video games. But when those anime, videogames, or tokushit contain mecha, they become fair game for the board. Sentai's pretty solidly /m/. Giant robots and all that. Early Kamen Rider was about cyborgs. Other seasons were about power armor. Also solid /m/ material. Lots of recent seasons just go "LOL RIDER POWERS", and those ones are iffy. A connection to a mecha series is not necessarily enough to call it /m/ material. Ultraman and kaijushit? Giant fleshbags. They can fuck right the fuck off.
