Wasn't he using an arm bracelet like Haruka? I don't remember that detail. He was sort of self-sustaining himself tho', just like Mamoru with the burgers. Though I guess since he was a scientist, once could think that he tweaked the Amazon Cells he injected himself in a similar manner with the Sigma-type ones. Though I don't think corpses have the feeling of eating, which is probably why they are good as Amazons.

In general, the modern Rider series started with a darker atmosphere and became more exaggerated and over the top later.

Kamen Rider Kabuto actually transitions from one end to the other during the show itself. Fourze is particularly over the top and animeish with its characters though, so if you don't care for that you could try other shows.

That's mostly a conceit of post-Decade Rider series, but Fourze really runs with the cartoonish style. If it's getting on your nerves, I'd suggest Kuuga or Agito, like others have said.

When TV-Nihon hate is so memetic in this fandom, it's astounding to me that XIG gets a pass despite being comparable in terms of how crappy and stiff their translation are, the awkward choices and being ESL as the depths of fucking hell.

People perk up when new groups start doing shows that were previously only available from TV-N. Besides, specifically regarding Black and RX (and also Den-O), they didn't seem to be sure if they were meant to be alternate versions or the originals. The Black RX that appeared in Decade vs All Riders, who was supposed to be the original, just wore the same outfit that Decade's RX wore, rather than receiving a third one like both tv Kotaros had different outfits. And there was also a Black in that movie and both were supposed to be the originals somehow.

That's a Neo-Shocker scientist. The episode is from Skyrider actually. Skyrider infiltrates a research camp where NeoShocker produces their soldiers, by kidnapping and making brain surgeries on people, but he just ends up captured himself, then Stronger comes to the rescue. That guy was the scientist responsible for creating the soldiers.

He sees those survivors escaping, complains about losing his lab rats, then Stronger says that his experiments are unforgivable and attacks him.

I've been watching Skyrider's later episodes with some unfinished subs that are floating around. I've been tweaking them though, and might upload my fixed versions if there's nothing new by the time I finish it.
