I have a stupid-crazy idea for a sentai series.

5 teenagers are working on a film project to finish for their last year of highschool. While filming, they notice a weird being popping up in their footage, stalking them wherever they shoot. Then, during their final film shooting, the figure pops out of nowhere and tries to corrupt the teens into being his proxies.

Luckily for them, a random passerby noticed the incident and distracted the monster long enough for the teens to escape. After heading back to school, they learn that the person that saved them was their teacher. Turns out that he has been following the monster for years and want to destroy him before he does any more harm.

He also noticed that the monster had accidentally left them with the proxy powers before they could mind-control them, so their teacher creates special suits that let the teens use their reality-warping powers without getting corrupted by the monster.

Now it up to them to save the world from this powerful, reality-warping monster, as...

When it comes to the power of proxy, it means that anyone with that power can alter reality in some way.

The Proxigers have minor warping powers that allow them to create weapons and power-ups, similar to the ToQger's imagination power. They can also slow down time if they use most of their power, but it messes with any nearby electronics if the go full power.

The Monster, known as Hosomi no Otoko, has WAY more reality warping powers, being able to manipulate time more easily and being able to create pocket dimensions that can warp innocent victims into new monsters he can sic onto the Proxigers.

The funny thing is Shout cares with almost every other release they have. Nice quality LEs, communicating with fans on what extras they would like to see as well as asking permission to use rare resources like toy commercials that fans might have, releasing a full series set first in case the individual sets don't do well, the amount of fanwank the Transformers subs had to bring their terminology up to modern standards. Shout and Scream both also do some great remasters and bluray releases.

Sentai is like the outlier.

And what makes it worse is that they fought Toei and Saban for the right to release Sentai because they knew fans wanted it. It's upsetting to see such cheap translations. Especially for shows like Kakuranger, Carranger and Megaranger where better translations existed, or Dairanger where no good translations existed.

These DVDs are stuck in Region 1. How does this help anyone other than the US and Canada? As new releases come out in the states, it fucks over fans everywhere else, and don't tell me you believe these sets are ever coming to other regions because as long as Power Rangers exists and is marginally profitable, the releases are going to stay where they are. Most PR live in North America, so it's the perfect place and time to exploit their captive audience now that Saban is in overdrive trying to milk nostalgia bucks.
