The Ganma designs are pretty fun and people who at least enjoyed the start of Ghost were probably enjoying them too. The only big problem with them is that when you find out that all the Ganma are people from the other world and presumably soldiers it starts to seem a bit silly to have them look and act like MotW. The different soldier types you see are much more fitting to that idea but also a lot plainer because of it.

Is Wizard really as bland as everyone says?
I say because I'm going crazy with indecision, because I love wizards. I play every RPG as wizard, so the idea of a Kamen Rider who's a wizard sounds like the best thing ever to me, but I can't tell if all this stuff I hear about the show being terrible is legit or overblown.

It's not a great show, but it's at worst mediocre. Compared to some of the other entries in the series I think calling it terrible/the constant hate it gets can be pretty absurd.

Your enjoyment of it will probably depend mainly on what you think of the cast, since as another anon mentioned there isn't a lot of plot to speak of. The fights and suits are pretty good though, so it can still be fun.

I think the problem with a lot of Modern Kamen Riders is that they don't balance their conflict properly.

At it's core the conflict should be a good heartened individual being given the power of a monster and being forced to fight against Evil that have a grounding in reality.

It's why Kuuga worked, because the Grongi were just serial murderers given super human powers. It worked in Ryuki because the antagonists were just other people who were fighting for reasons that weren't too complex and it's worked so far in Ex-Aid because Dan was basically just a sociopath who only killed people because he was sick in the head.

It's why stuff didn't work in Faiz because the drama was just too overblown, or in a lot of later Heisei because they removed the fangs of the villains to actually kill people so they're not threatening.

The issue is that Amazons is trying too hard. That's the problem that people had with Faiz. It's trying too hard to be dark and graphic.

Despite being more bloody than Kuuga, it doesn't have the same level of maturity that Kuuga handled it. We'll never go back to the level in which the police actually worked with the Rider to keep public safety and fight monsters.
