Upgrade/skills advice for SRW V?

I threw everything from the first dozen stages onto Might Gaine, which was just enough to max him out. After that I started in on Daitarn, and I'll probably do Vangray after that unless I get Mazinger and Eva 01 first.

I'd recommend buying just enough skills to get Hit and Away early on, but make sure you keep 1200 TacP in reserve so you can get the Grade 1 and Grade 2 bonuses immediately when the Factory opens. I went for Repair Boost and TAC Point Bonus, then saved until I could get Force Burst and Excessive Force.

After that it's up to you. I'm currently putting priority on buying the power parts I'll want to keep across plays, then I'll be diving into skills after that.

If you guys went for a no upgrade run for V, would you guys go for GranVang or VangNex?

GranVang has a 2100 armor base value.
VangNex has 1800 but has a MAP attack.

XO added a lot of new mechs, a few names for Dancouga mooks, an entire new mode that itself later became SRW Gakuen (though it used only things in XO), upped the difficulty, upped the player deploy rate (which was really needed), added a stage, added like two obtainable characters (on top of making some of the new units obtainable and one other one that wasn't in GC IIRC), added a few sub scenarios, and heavily updated the graphics. It also had better music including like 20+ new tracks.

It's a port in the same way Impact is a port of C2. (Although where Impact added two series and removed one, XO just removed one - couldn't get the license to Raijin-Oh OVA2.)

So, why are they not officially releasing this in the states? Is it the licensing issues? I think I read somewhere that the game only sold 130k copies in the first week in Japan. And srw certainly isn't a type of game that gets picked up later down the line from word of mouth.

With all these VA, licensing, and animations, game must be pretty expensive to make. They could rake in some good cash if they officially had it released in the states I think.

Why did they give us an MP F91 instead of Seabook's F91 with an additional MEPE attack? If they can handwave another X1, it isn't a stretch to just give us actual F91 from the get-go. It'll be interesting to see what her moveset will look like. She has a lot of possible attacks to pull from, but Devil's Recitation and Legendary Flying Saucer both seem like obligatory inclusions, and it would be odd to see such a heavily melee-oriented character getting two ranged finishers. Perhaps they could make one or both of those attacks melee, but that would be weird.

I suppose it's possible that LFS will get swapped for a different attack when she joins your party, like Remilia/Yuyuko/Okuu.

Superhuman Byakuren Hijiri is basically a given, it's named after herself and is basically the best representation of her buffing battle monk aspect.

Also melee characters with shooting finishers is nothing new, it's one of the things that makes Remi as shit as she is.

Both of Remilia's finishers are melee. She has a lot of things working against her, but that's not one. And honestly, the FMW games have been pretty good about avoiding off-stat finishers overall. That would be pretty cool. I remember something similar was done in Bahamut Lagoon with the ability to freeze water bodies to form walking terrain, ignite forests to burn anyone who sits on them the next turn and destroy walls with elemental area attacks.

Another idea could be to copy disgaea a bit and let bigger sized units be able to toss smaller sized units to expand their movement area and make enemy battleships either be able to carry enemy units and move them with ease and then deploy them or make them carry by default some units inside that will deploy if not destroyed before it has a chance to do it.

Frankly I do not remember if Harrison had a MEPE, but in any case, they could easily avoid license with Kinkado installing a bio computer in F91MP. Llicenses cover only the design of a specific robot, not the its attacks. For those Banpresto has a fair amount of freedom, otherwise the Quant would only have two attacks.
