At any rate, here's the menu for Battle Commander.

It's a RTS game!

Does Evangelion feel like kind of an afterthought to anybody else?
Mazinger ZERO gets a whole multi-level thing about it awakening and fighting Kouji, while Eva-01 awakens and Shinji just controls it like it's nothing and that's the end of it.

Well the big file of names and attacks is translated and put in. Not 100% happy with how some of them turned out but thankfully the process I have in place lets me update and edit without too much difficulty should a better translation get thrown my way. And who knew notepad++ doubled as a decent hex converter?

Now on to finish menu screens.

Well, it's more of a trooper based thing.
You start out with a select number of Commander units to which you can add 3 grunts.
The units all have classes such as Fighter, Knight, Wizard, Gunner, etc. Each with their own strengths and weaknesses, including terrain, attack radius, etc.

There's a bit more complexity to it, but that's the general idea.

Chitose is best girl and no one can measure to her

So, I just finished V for the first time. That fight against a bajillion Nevanlinna clones was pretty hairy for the first few turns, as they kept going after units that had to burn SP to guarantee they'd stay alive. Once the event happened, though, Koji and Ryoma proceeded to wreck them after I left them within easy distance and pulled most everyone back. Good thing I almost always give Hit & Away to like 90% of my pilots.

I REALLY want my Huckie and Grun but don't know when they join here in my first playthrough. Also as an interesting question...if I make a Singapore account and download the bonus stage where they join far earlier, since it's on my PS4 will it work under any profile, or are the saves and downloads now forever locked off from each other?

Anyone figured out any good birthday and blood type combos for the Originals yet?

Is Unit-13 worth using for him? Kaworu is pretty gay and all, and that's nice. But statistically the red Unit-01 seems a lot more powerful.

The invasion happens not too long after the Crossbone manga ends, and that had most of the Federations bases getting destroyed by Jovians, losing a good chunk of their mobile suits. The remaining defenders would be colony defense MS forces, and whatever the Federation had left (mostly Harrisons team and a few other stragglers).

Gamillans also invade in huge quantities, so their overwhelming numbers screwed the Federation over.

In Cross Ange' case, it's both Bamco's fault for being lazy and the source material too, Ragna-mails don't have many variations due to being all MP versions of the Villkiss.

Can you guys please post what the secret scenarios and characters are and how to get them? I've been scrolling thru all these threads for a WEEK and learned next to nothing. I know its a small group here that been playing these for ages but please help a srw newbie out. I wanna know what my either/or choices are. The wiki makes it look like you lose out on special attacks for some characters if you pick the wrong route.

Nobody seems to have a concrete idea aside from Black Mightgaine and EVA. Best I could advise right now is to Ace the relevant people and have them take out the relevant villains like you'd expect.

Yamato unfortunately wasn't in an ideal position for the MAP attack when that happened. Kira, Sousuke, and Setsuna were in damned near perfect spots for theirs, as was Ruri, so I had them unload on a bunch of the enemies, while Koji and Ryoma put their 6+ stock of ExC to great use in finishing off a number of them.

To get Black Might Gaine, have Maito defeat Joe by himself in Stage 17 of Japan Route. You get a secret stage afterwards. He joins on Stage 28 of AD Dimension route

Shinji's secret stage seems to be after Stage 39, Shinij has to defeat at least one Angel.

That being said, at least for right now, the only secret units are Black Might Gaine and Eva-13. Everything else is just getting them earlier than you are supposed to.

Timing problems, like all things in this game (which I like a lot, but you see that at some point they had to finish it in a hurry to get it out in time.)

F91 MP has wonderful animations, but the lack of the bazooka and its MEPE means that there is a disparity of power between its normal weapons and VSBR. The VSBR is good, it's more powerful than a normal Tran-arm of the QuanT and you can spam it a lot of times... still, there is little else. A pity, with its all weapons, the F91 would be one of my favorite units in the game. I'm sure it was expected that the F91 got the bazooka and Mepe at some point. They do not put it to lack of time. imho.

For next SRW I hope they take their time, even if you have to wait more. And i want Cecily back as pilot. Her Vigna is so beautiful.

The only problem with the cast in Cross is that they didn't distribute characters wisely so regardless of which "route" you take you still get 80% of the characters anyway, if they did actual routes so you could get only a portion of the general cast you'd have more reasons to use all of the characters you get, not to mention the game would have actual replayability because of that, but then again, Cross tried to incorporate a lot of mechanics without getting even one of those right, and it was more about looking and sounding good than playing good.

At least I can appreciate it because many of those design decisions are ripped off from SaGa games, like field elements or the no level approach, but goddamn they suck in Cross, still much better than the absolute snorefest that was Trigger though.

That was because all animations were ungodly long to begin with and with tons of times when nothing happens and the characters just stand in there to give some sort of gravity or dramatic weight, take Fargo's Invincible animation where you get those still frames for each slash when he charges at the screen, iirc he also stands still a bit after puffing smoke from his cigar, and all of this is happening at an average of 20 FPS on the real hardware.
Sill better than FFIX but it was more of a damage control decision due to wanting to push 3D graphics hard, SaGa Frontier was fast as fuck and had really complex and cool animation.
