The reason they didn't do the sword morphers is that they wanted to do a morpher toy and a weapon toy, but they didn't think the multitool would sell without the added draw of it being the morpher. If they wan't to do a new weapon and morpher with cowboy as well, the burger and the guitar sword are his two unique items; and the burger isn't a weapon at all so it would have to be the morpher. Actually, the burger might make even more sense than it did in Ninninger since it closer in size and shape to the multitool than the sword changers.

I also feel like that burger is pretty prevalent in the source footage, that it'd be a chore to dance around it.

Power Rangers Starlight Episode 2

After our 4 rangers were chosen by the Legendary Star Cystal to safe keep the safe of the mystercal space balls, our red ranger goes off to find his missing Fatherbrother also he is an alien.

Meanwhile our evil space Accountant sends some of his buisness people down to the planet in order to collect the space balls. Yellow, black and Green fend them off

Meanwhile, Red finds himself at a pet store and that's where he meets Fernado that works there.

Fernado is a young man that easily scared and cowers down to exposition. Our red ranger comes across him being picked on by some bullies (whom calls him "scardy pup," before the red ranger steps in, the little half wolf/dog (the shops little mascot) scares the boys away.

Fernado makes a comment about being as brave as the dog, before noticing the red ranger...they talk and become friends before Red gets a call to the beach before Red takes fernado with him.

Red Ranger joins the other in an explosive entrance, beecause reasons. Fernado is watching, scared out of his mind as he watches the rangers fight, he then sees that our comical bullies from earliar are getting attacked...Fernado squeezes his eyes, scared out of his mind.

He then sees a shooting star in the sky, he makes his wish. The star crystal appears befroe him and he makes his wish again "I wish to be brave like my dog"

The Legendary star crystal presents him the Blue space ball, and he transforms into the blue-ranger.

Even though he literally has no reason to, Fernado fights like a wild animal and he becomes the fifth ranger of the team.

Lots of it, yeah. But there were scenes in the city (forgot the name) including obviously the megazord battles.
Of course, you could say that to a civilian that's pretty much the same shit the other ranger teams do but the ending of MF involves the city and the inhabitants of the forest joining together saying that they believe in magic so at least that much should be known by the public at large.

That said, expecting that sort of continuity is pointless, even if this weren't neo saban.

Based on answers Greg Arnowitz gave at a panel, they wanted a female Red for SPD initially, but Toei gave them the coldest no they could. There was definitely a better way to do the hybrid series than blitzkrieging through goseiger in 20 and then keeping the suits around for occasional use throughout 20 of gokaiger.

I'd have ditched the Gokai suits/zords completely since the pirate theme was never addressed and doesn't mesh with the rest of the series. The only Gokai footage I'd utilize would be the legendary changes, which you could have the Gosei suits morph into directly using legendary ranger cards. You could say the X-Borgs/Gokai monsters are stronger to facilitate use of the legendary powers. Wouldn't take much original footage to make work.

From what I recall Some Guy showed up saying he was trying out for the next season of Power Rangers and was trying to get an idea of what this stuff was. He was some fit guy who filled out a Gatchaman costume well. He got a round or two in through casting and ended up turned down, claiming that they had explained they already had their quotas so it wouldn't work.

I forget if this guy was where that script that was just a hasty rework of some Shinkenger episode came from or if that was somebody else.
