All of those people were shown to be pretty capable, though. Neo was The Hawk Of Endymion, Chronicle was pretty skilled and an okay guy iirc. Slightly silly mask, though. Iron Mask had a shitty "butthurt because my wife left me" origin and his MA was a flower, but he could Force Choke people and doesn't afraid of snipers because his mask is fucking awesome. Zeahart was an okay guy in the movie but still went full retard in the show, but he was still shown to be a highly capable pilot and was even given his own Gundam (fairly rare for a Char). Not a bad mask, but not really a good mask either. But even so, Vidar was shown to be a great guy before being betrayed, he's shown to have excellent fighting skills both before and after putting the mask on, has an absolutely BEAST Gundam, and a cool no-nonsense helmet.

Luin Lee, on the other hand, was a mildly simmering bucket of fail with a massive inferiority complex, a worse mission record than Fa "I've never landed a mobile suit in my life" Yuiry, and a butterfly strapped to his face.

Despite being connected to Barbatos, Mika's hand went limp again during the battle, right after Barbatos's hand was damaged.
We know the AV system directly connects the MS motor control to the pilot's central nervous system. If it has failsafes to protect the pilot from overload when the MS runs too high (the cut-out when Akihiro and Mikazuki got too close to Hashmal) maybe it also has failsafes to keep the pilot from feeling the damage the MS takes.
The status of Barbatos's arm changes, the status of Mika's arm changes. If the MS is repaired while he's not hooked to it, then his motor function is working while connected to Barbatos because Barbatos is actively sending a "fully operational" status but when he's disconnected again the failsafe in his own AV system is still in place.

Whether they do this or just build a dummy-AV backpack for Mika to wear while outside Barbatos, they need to get that pompadour kid in on it. He hasn't really served much purpose so far aside from noticing the limiter situation with the Gundams, so this might be why he's in the story.

Best bet is an attack on Macgillis which will result in Tekkadan flattening some Teiwaz. Old man might say this is betrayal on Orga's part and tell Naze that he has to handle Tekkadan. Naze did already have to swear to forfeit his life if Tekkadan did anything to embarrass Teiwaz.

Naze tells Azee and Lafter to sabotage some shit, but Lafter fucks up the plan because AKIHIRO or Merribit fucks up the plan because CHILDREN and Tekkadan stomps the Turbine faction. "Sandy Desert", "Survive the Battle", and "Vulnerable Surface" are all pretty good battle themes in my opinion, and Live With Them plus the Teiwaz accordion theme are pretty good.

The problem is that a lot of the others are slight (not so great) variations on the same basic themes.

"Barren Land" reminds me of Armored Core, 2 specifically.

That's not the plan at all. The way Macky tells it, he's going to expose corruption in the legitimate government, and if Tekkadan helps him get to the top of that chain, Macky will reward Orga by making him the legitimate legal head of government.

Of course that does kinda go against the "independence from mars" if Gjallarhorn is still appointing an unelected official to rule the planet. Orga isn't a conquerer, he sees Tekkadan being the official military/law enforcement agency as the safe and comparatively low-risk and respectable social station.

I like Rustal, Julietta and Vidar more than Tekkadan.

The way that Rustal openly disproved of Julietta pushing herself but didn't stop her and then Julietta getting upset with Vidar when he repeated Rustal's doubts was much more interesting.

We got to see a more noble side to Rustal throughout the episode.

Vidar showed that he could tell the way Rustal thought, giving the impression that he was insightful and maturing.

Julietta was getting frustrated from not being the best and not getting her efforts approved of and maybe even a bit of jealousy for Vidar knowing Rustal better than her.

Hell even McGillis and his new fucboi showed better dynamics with having the fucboi unable to follow McGillis line of thought.

It really helped push that McGillis was unconventional and that he was going off the deep end.

The interaction between Orga and Mika was the same thing that has been happening since s1.

I don't like Mika personally, but I think the whole point of the scene at the end of this week's episode was to illustrate the fact that he has gone way too deep to be able to return to any semblance of a normal life. He says that Kudelia will create a world where they won't have to fight, but fighting is all he is pretty much good for now.

What I see from Mika is not positive character development, but negative. He's going to get more and more unlikable throughout the series. He keeps saying he'll be fine if as long as he has Barbatos. He says he likes it better this way since it makes his life simple (fighting is his only concern). It's like watching someone going through a drug addiction.

Finally somebody else noticed it. S2 has been wasting the main supporting Tekkadans all season round. And I guess Akihiro and Shino are doing marginally better because they are gundam pilots. Sunrise has to go back to the fundamentals and stop fucking listening to a fringe part of fandom that has only "hate, gritty violence" on its tongue. Well there are two possible things he could be thinking about:
1. The pulled a pretty good bait and switch. We might be witnessing a Char's entire story from his origin to his revenge (whether that pans out or not)
2.Mika is now a paraplegic. His limbs only fuction when he's connected to the Barbatos
Also: Atra still wants to live in an open three way relationship with Kudelia and Mika. This seems to have less to do with her being innocent to the concept of what a harem is and more like she's actually bisexual at this point.

I agree, he's definitely going down a dark road, and in theory I think its a really cool character development. But its hard to get invested in his downward spiral when he's just so boring. All we've seen him do is fight, tell orga he'll fight, kill people and do that thing where he grabs a bigger person for hurting his friends and totally overpowers them without trying but backs off when the girls tell him to (Galileo for almost running over Biscuit's sisters back in the beginning and Hush like I said in my first post). Write him like a real character instead of the OP self insert of a VN is my issue
