Ex Aids fun so far, the first episode is mediocre but Emu is slowly filling into the role and the action is fun as hell. It's a definite watch for the action and visual affects alone.

So far, compared to Ghost's early episodes, before they went back to 2 parters in the 2nd arc, they're giving much more focus to the Riders themselves and the overall set up. There are victims of the week, but they're more like plot devices and tools to show the personality of each Rider, rather than getting rushed actual focus like what early Ghost attempted to do.

When fansubbing there's a certain amount of localization that needs to be done due to the differences in Japanese and English. When you don't bother or try to go for a "pure" sub you get TV-Nihon using stilted English and occasionally not even subbing words instead putting a TL note on the top of the screen for several seconds and sometimes they don't even do that

I think it was just a result of the whole "main writer is taking a big leave from the show but isn't getting replaced" situation. They wanted to make the debut of the new weapon seem important, but due to it not being written by the main writer, it seemed to be just overlooked afterwards. The idea of using Sanzo as his final form seemed to be only Keiichi Hasegawa's which is why it failed so badly.

In Nobuhiro Mouri's and later Takuro Fukuda's episodes Necrom just started pulling the new weapon without using Sanzo at all.

Of course, even putting that aside, what really buried Necrom was the main writer making all his later efforts pointless, with him basically failing at everything he attempted to do in Takuro Fukuda's later episodes. I don't get why he thought that was a good idea though.

It was supposed to be the difference between slaving a spirit, and bonding (and even being trained) by them, which is why Necrom only gets that weapon at that point. Like I said though, it ended up going nowhere since it was an idea pushed by a secondary writer, and the other writers clearly didn't bother even acknowledging it (like him using that weapon in his base form in later episodes shows).

Nah. It isn't. The official episode summary doesn't even mention that. It's an irrelevant event. They went to the same unknown location they always go. The camera following them rather than staying on the cast is just a visual effect.

Also, the Kabuto novel starts with Kagami losing his freaking belt. If they wanted an excuse to keep him from transforming for a while they could just have used this "Zecter left" stuff rather than him forgetting his belt while traveling. Yonemura clearly wasn't thinking that the Zecters leaving in that scene was some relevant event while writing the story.
