I'm actually of the opposite opinion. I enjoyed Yang's Gaiden more since it delved into the history of the series. Something I also enjoyed about the main show. Reinhard's Gaiden felt underwhelming in comparison, and ironically my favorite part of his was the arc centered around Kircheis.

I think he means general art direction, how the ships look, the uniforms, the character designs. Not saying shit can't derp out in stuff like that, but the art direction in LoGH is pretty good for the most part IMO.

Okay, most of the way through the series, I have one question.

The armor these guys wear, it's power armor right?
If so, it's somewhat realistic, in that the armor allows them to retain human-like mobility despite being bulky as shit. Their practical physical strength is also amplified, to the point that they have had grown ass men hanging off them and were barely slowed down.
Also, chopping through whatever these things are made out of with an axe would require a lot of horsepower. Shit, just chopping through an unarmored arm with an axe is no mean feat.

In fact, the suits being power armor would actually more sense than if they were just regular old armor, considering how grounded the rest of the series is.
