Starting September 1st, you have two months to build, customize, and paint a mobile suit of your choice into your own personal design. This can range from just a repainted Zaku to a kitbashed Gundam loaded with any spare rifles and Rocket Launchers you can find. Any suit from any series is fair game, just stick to 1/144 kits and you're good. When you're done feel free to post it in the thread, but also send pics to [email protected] so that all the entries can be judged/posted at once when the group build is over (If you don't want to be judged for the contest just feel free to mention it when you send in your pics).

do you guys know of some methods to make a gundam's main camera and "eyes" pop out more in terms of color.
I usually spray Chrome silver on the back then Whatever Clear Color Variant on the front.
That mostly works for lens and things where light hits it a lot but for the main Camera and "eyes" it's really hard to see.
hoping there's a method that doesn't require me to paint over the clear plastic with something opaque, I feel that kinda ruins the point of the clear part in the first place.

They never announced it. They merely teased it. Bandai has made working prototypes before and then just quickly shelved them, so just seeing a picture with "IN DEVELOPMENT" means almost nothing.

My guess is that you won't see the RG Gouf for at least a year because they just rolled out the Revive Gouf. They need to let the market marinate on that awhile before rolling out an RG.

Attaching a handle to the top of this railgun is a bloody chore. The one in pic related is too thin to pin and won't form a stable bond on account of the original cut being wonky. Now I've got to drill a hole and fit a polycap for a different kind of handle entirely. I think I'll need to use the Jigen Build Knuckle hands now because of their more flexible wrists.

I have both the Marine and the Cima Custom (a horrible paint mistake. First fuckup.)
The Marine is old, but I think it holds up pretty well. If you don't have to pay too much, pick it up. Really simple build.
Screw the Cima custom though. It is incapable of holding the big beam machine gun.

Specifically, you need a printer that can print white. That alone probably tells you how rare they are. You can get by just fine with a normal printer (you can get decal kits for laser and inkjet) if you don't intend to make decals with white in them.

It comes with the Amazing Lev D, which is basically a shield that turns into a bird (from the Build Fighters Amazing manga). The kit was a freebie with an issue of... either Gundam ACE or Dengeki Hobby, I forget which. There was a second one, Amazing Lev A, which came with the other magazine and had a similar-looking gatling gun. Both weapons are normally held like rifles and I didn't like it, so I'm converting the weapon body to be attached under the arm so I can swap out the railgun and gatling barrels.

In case you want them, I think HLJ still has copies of both magazines in stock, which come with the parts. Just search for 'Amazing Lev'.

Fall clearance sale. Dunno if they're getting any more stock of them, but a bunch of old kits got priced half off to make way for new stuff. DXes were pretty uncommon beforehand though, and when this sale started the damn things practically started going extinct. At one point I went rather out of my way to a B&N that claimed to have one online, only to be told by a sales clerk that it was a stock error and that a previous customer literally two minutes before me asked about the same kit.

For one, nearly everything from the OVA is getting shit on by being associated with it due to how bad it was.

I myself honestly don't like it because I find it dull. It lacks any sort of uniqueness to really differentiate it from the regular Quan[t]. It's got different gn bits, but they overall aren't that different, it has some different armor, but overall the silhouette isn't that changed, it has a new sword, but its more dull than the old sword.

As a custom it just feels like the designer didn't take the concept far enough and ended up with a lackluster result. Same goes for the ZZII and the new Lightning backpack is just awful in its own way.

I fully get the hate due to being associated with Island Wars, and I find both the cat ears and Transient-spear-tips-on-shoulder dumb, but I think the rest is a general improvement over the Quan[T]. I much prefer the Shia Quan[T]'s shoulders, I like the rear skirt and pectoral changes, and I'm undecided on whether I prefer the new or old knees. I'd quite like to get one with a vanilla Qan[T] and kitbash them into an overall better suit.

They've done that to me both times I've gotten parts in the past. For 2014 they even threw an extra two in to complete the set when I only ordered enough kits for 6 of them (I think it was 8 then?). Either way HLJ have always been pretty based when I've dealt with them. They even extended a private warehouse shipping deadline for me so I could ship a bunch of stuff in one go that was released a couple of weeks later.

I think one is more animation accurate while the new one feels more like its from the newer games and manga if anything. To be honest they should have revived or sand protection type ground gundam with the net launcher, and given the missile launcher to the ground gm. I dont ever remember seeing the gm using it.

Ive been working on some conversions myself so depending on how far I get or how well I do I may just say ones a early type and the hguc is the refined type lol.

So if they plan to use this inner frame again they have gm command type, cold climate type, command space type, pale rider and white dingos.
