I remember watching a few videos where the translation team went ahead and.."spiced" up the script for want of a better term. One of the examples they stated was the opening prologue had a montage of the rest of Classy 7 telling Rean to run and I guess in the Japanese version they all just said REAN and that was it like 8 fucking time. I still don't exactly like Alisa, but I more or less accepted her bullshit once they revealed her mom forced her cool grandpa to build nukes. Can't blame her for wanting to get outta there, but they waited way too long to reveal that crucial tidbit.

Hell, that's my biggest problem with the character development in Cold Steel. Every single issue that comes up just comes across as someone being an idiot, and even though there's usually a good reason, they wait until the last minute to reveal that reason, so you already hate the character in question.

The only exception (for me at least) was the Laura-Fie feud, and that was stupid for the opposite reason. They start acting pissy, I assume Laura must have a good reason, but then the conclusion is that she's just kinda dumb. She's still best girl though.

I'm not done with Cold Steel 1 yet, but I dunno how much more of "And now these two characters hate eachother, solve the problem by doing nothing!" I can take.

Well the opening parts of CS2 really made it clear why Laura might have a beef with Jaegers and Im not saying anything past that.

But as you already experienced, their whole FEUD can't even be called that. Laura has issues with the way jaegers do things because she was raised to follow the ideas of a knight and the most that came out of that was her uncomfortable with the reveal and avoiding Fie because of it.

It wasn't like Jusis or Machias where they fought and caused problems. Laura just didn't know what to make of it and after some thought realized that it doesn't matter what Fie WAS when compared who she IS.

What's the difference between TiTS, and Cold Steel? I have had TiTS on my PC for a couple months and got around to giving it a shot earlier. Pretty fun game just a lot of reading. All I know is that they share the same universe with the rest of the series. Also which game has you control the Mechs. The gameplay is very reminiscent of a SRPG.

But that's the thing, they go outta their way to make you feel like it WAS a huge problem. You had the whole party constantly asking if they're gonna be okay and how long they're gonna stay like that, to the point where it was more annoying than the feud itself. And then there's the whole "Oh no we can't link up anymore" bit, which is an actual legitimate problem.

Bottom line was the whole thing was nothing but an annoyance that went on for far too long, with no pay-off beyond "Here's some Fie backstory that you probably figured out on your own already".

Cold Steel is a new sub series of a spin off. It's complicated.

Basically all these games happen in the same universe over the span of a few years. Characters cross over, stories are told from different viewpoints.

Cold Steel was designed for people new to Kiseki. You can pick it up without playing TitS.

TitS FC and SC are about Liberl. CS is about Erebonia.

Is there any way to speed up Master Quartz exp gain? Doing NG+ Nightmare run on CS1, trying to level Vermilion and Taurus for Laura and Rean but keep having to switch back to fully leveled Brave and Force to stay ahead, meanwhile the EXP gain on underlevelled MQs is pathetic.

Put Megalith and Dominion on Millium and grind with her S Break while the other 5 in the party just soak the exp. Floor 6 has plenty of enemies that come in 8's. If you mean once you started NG+ already then you're out of luck. You won't be getting level 5 MQs until about chapter 5 because of how terrible exp gain is.

And on a not quite related note Tauros is a terrible MQ in CS. It's especially if you put it on Rean cause as the delay guy you want him to be spamming that Arc Slash and while Taurus doesn't affect the damage of crafts, it still increases their delay time.

The series is split into regional arcs with prevailing plotlines, lore, character appearances. I'd recommend start with Sky FC/SC because of that, but you should know that in Kiseki, the mech heavy elements usually don't start to get introduced until the near end of the first game of an arc.

Coldsteel II has mech combat as main game element, but you have to play through CS 1 first. The mechs that appear in the Trails series are really cool, but I'd be lying if I said you didn't have to commit to a lot of play time before you really get to experience them.

You'll see giant robots in the last 30 minutes of an 80+ hour game. Their introduction is a game changer in the setting so you don't really see the effect they have until the sequel.

The whole LN style characterization of Rean does not mesh well with the spirit of Trails' writing at all imo. I hoping the Calvard arc won't try to eat Persona's lunch so much but the CS games have been so successful it's likely going to stick around.
