I really think the main plot might end as early as episode 46 or 47. 1st quarter toy catalogue for Ex-Aid has Ex-Aid himself, Shooting, Brave and Genmu all getting toys in the beginning of September. The main issue isn't that they don't destroy the overlord it's that there's not even a proper final battle against him, just a Rider Kick while he was weakened due to charging up an attack. They could have used that same plotline to justify him being weak enough to need to get into a physical struggle against Agito with some kind of combat form, and then the ending would be more satisfying.

The scene shown in Rider 4 is similar to Faiz's final scene but it's not exactly the same. Either way, the idea is that he died sometime after Faiz, yes.

It just means that the machine existed since around the time of Faiz and kept him alive for 10 years after the point where he originally was meant to die.

It's why the only person who remembers him in Rider 4 after the machine is destroyed is Kaido, since he met Takumi during Faiz's actual events, while the others only met him in post-series stuff which now didn't happen since he wasn't alive for them anymore.

Can anyone who's been watching Rider weekly for a few years give their thoughts on Ghost? Personally I really hate it, but I'm aware that might be in part because it's the first season I've watched entirely weekly (started about halfway through Drive).

Got into rider when Wizard was airing.
Ghost has the same problems as it did for me. Watching it weekly made me not give a damn about any of the characters or plot, but watching the BDs as they come out have made me like it a bit more. It's a show like OOO, that is decent when you watch multiple episodes in a row, without a week between where you notice things wrong with it more commonly.

Action scenes are still boring as fuck though. Hopefully Ex-Aid's are better.

Rider 3/4 just confuses things, anon. The same way the original universe existed parallel to the Rider 3 timeline allowed a.) versions of people to bleed from the original to rider3 universes, and b.) characters bleed back into the original verse after the "brute force" machine stopped super-imposing rider3-verse (unless you took your original body over in a magic train).
