We need a savior of /m/ankind. A mod who could singlehandedly improve this board overnight with a few simple fixes. A mod who cares, even just a bit.

Iron sights on a mobile suit weapon are retarded, even as a backup. With a good targeting computer, you should be able to calculate a firing solution using the head camera, and the position of the arm. If you lose those, you won't be able to make use of iron sights anyways. If anything, using the gun cam as a backup when the head cameras are destroyed (EG, the final shooting pose) makes more sense than using MS sized iron sights.

Aiming down the sights only makes sense for fleshy organics.

Also stocks are pointless as well. A mobile suit is proportionally stronger than a human and can wield most rifle sized weapons one handed. A stock just adds unnecessary weight.

The stuff that UC computers have been shown to be capable of - learning computer, image processing/recognition, humanoid motion control, psycommu/quasi-psycommu are all pretty advanced stuff most of which we can only just start to be able to do. The only thing that is different in the Gundam universe is that they spent money in making electric car common place, space travel economical and built space colonies instead of useless social networks and 4KHD phones like in the real world.
