Restraint. This was technically Inoue's first role at the helm of a Kamen Rider show. His father was the original writer of Kamen Rider. So basically it was him having to hold back and not overwhelm people.

THough, a lot of the best parts of Agito's plot/lore/etc don't come from Inoue. I do think Kuuga's lore is more interesting, though, if you account for all supplemental material.

Faiz is a joke. Misunderstandings isn't the lead issue, not in the slightest, but it's a fucking bad show because of relying on audacity, illogical pacing, character dynamics that run purely based around how often they can avoid being called out on lying, and the major (and honestly really interesting) duality between Kiba and Takumi being put on the sidelines constantl for nonsense no one cares about. The amount of care they put into the show is signaled by how Takumi got the Axel watch: Kusaka just throws it at his head without any fanfare or even so much as an acknowledgement as to how weird it is he has it. Even the characters don't care about the plot.

My complaints with them is that they seem to drag out monster designs longer, so they don't have to design as many.
Often this leads into the, "Oh No! They Escaped/Run away" during the introduction of a new monster, instead of progressing the story, is also feels like it slows it down.

Eh? X's 1st half has some of the best monster suit design from the Showa era (although it goes to shit with the historical villains in the 2nd half).

Things happen fairly often, and the hero fails to save people multiple times, which gives a sense of actual danger to things.

Apollogeist is a decent antagonist. He doesn't have Shadow's interesting dynamics or the personal connection of Shadowmoon, but they knew how to give him a lot of screen presence (at least before he died for the first time).

The V3 and Rider 2 appearances are all plot relevant episodes too, which is rather neat and makes them actually feel special.

All suits can't survive storage for longer than a few years or so. I can't find the goddamn pic, but for example, Gills' suit got fucked up hard, and Blade and Garren's suits are already facing serious yellowing. hell, Cyclone Joker Xtreme's chest plate is possibly yellowing already.

They make materials that they can maintain greatly for about two to three years, but after that they don't bother with them which is when the real damage sets.

It's not like final forms even pop up much in crossovers. There were some random final forms used in Kamen Rider Taisen and SHTGP, and the previous movies didn't even bother with them for past Riders. For starters, due to only having 13 Riders (14 including Alternative, but only really 12 including Alternative appear in the show) there's a bit more even distribution of characters. The lesser ones, namely Gai and Scissors, are killed off. This is opposed to Gaim where there are 14 in just the show, 22 including movies/V-Cinema. And of htem, not very many get huge character development or even focus.

It also helps the protagonist balance is stronger and better handled as opposed to Gaim's. Shinji's similar to Kouta in that they're both hesitant goofballs who don't really wanna fight, but Shinji's much more convincing and even makes several others hesitate with reason, including the hard-ass Ren who actually kicks a lot of fucking ass throughout the show. This is opposed to Kouta who only really gets his way by crying really hard to his sugar daddy and Kaito jobbing a lot because nowadays the hero can't lose.

What? Those are my biggest complaints about Ryuki actually. Rather than layingat least most cards and then slowly making the Riders kill each other, we're basically introduced to the entire main cast, that has plot armor to last until near the ending of the show, and every other Rider was only around for an arc, only to be killed before another "guest" Rider pops up only to be killed again. The only surprising twist was really Scissors. After him, it's obvious that there's a main Rider cast and every other one that pops up are only there to die after their initial story arc is over. The last 10 or so episodes of the series kind of spice things up by introducing almost 4 Riders at once, with the two alternatives. Tiger and Imperer, but that's how most of the show should have flowed, rather than only the final quarter of the series.

That's why I tend to care about about the Side characters/Secondary Riders in Riders, they seem to have more substance and backstory going for them than the Protag.

With the Protag getting majority of the spotlight and focus, Side Characters aren't put on such a high pedestal.
So when something happens and the Side Character has their "Moment", it jets them higher up than compared to if the Protag did it, since we expect them to do it.

Mitchy just seemed to have more content to him and his character, since we knew he was already a disturbed person because of his family problems.

Kouta was there, but often fell into periods of him coming off as a "Crying Airhead". He wasn't a awful character, he was just extremely Naive and oblivious to the obvious, making it annoying for the viewer.

they weren't pep talk bullshit, they did actually feel physical pain and feedback, and I'd argue even Javert would count as it wasn't also just psychosis (adjusting to human body, so it's like reverse of adjusting to invincible body)
