It's weird how W and Drive have the opposite problems of each other.

W had a great start and premise, but after a while it seemed like Sanjo didn't now where to go with it near the end.

Drive's start felt like Sanjo had no idea how to make the show entertaining up to the Formula's debut arc which set things in motion. So he just decides to backpedal on Chase's progress into becoming free of brainwashing. We get some good moments like Tomari engaging Heart for the first time and the SCU arcs. However the pussyfooting around whether Chase was going to come around or not was annoying.

Sometimes I wonder if all those extra episodes of Drive were meant to be in the show proper. Like the Proto Drive stuff and the stuff looking into what happened in the past. However Toei wanted to sell DVDs/Blu Rays and Sanjo had to stretch the narrative thin.

Eh, I just don't see it. I guess I am with the Japanese on this one. Liked it in the moment, but stopped giving a fuck as soon as it was over and left Fourze's toys to rot in clearance hell.

Fourze's... atmosphere(?) is not something that can really carry on for a ~50 episode TV show. It sort of showed near the end where had to go through a gauntlet of of evil team members that I didn't care about. Well, aside from Cancer. Leo was alright, but that's because of his human actor being a pretty cool fighter. NotTachibana I only cared about because it was Tachibana and the actual Tachibana of this show sucked outside the training arc.

Nah. Sanjo is a veteran toku writer, he'd know that he couldn't plan multiple episodes taking place in the past or otherwise with little participation of the merchandising side like Rider forms and collectibles.

My impression of his writing is that he basically makes up as he goes along, although, unlike some other toku writer, he tries to justify and explain any oddities he notices with the show's direction. So, things generally fit, but the general direction and character arcs might get changed.

I don't think it was really setting up stuff for crossovers though. It was just a rushed ending, maybe because they had one less episode than expected. I mean think about it - Shotaro and Philip end up having very small roles in Movie Wars Core due to the Skull focus, and that was the only crossover planned at the time. I think it was just a hamfisted way to keep the "half-boiled" theme, rather than allowing Shotaro to go full hard boiled.

I'm currently watching blade and Man I gotta say, the screaming in Blade is top tier. Like seriously, it is some primo quality screaming. If i had to rank the 6 shows I've seen based purely on quality of screaming, Blade is by and far number one.

>1. Kamen Rider Blade
Like I said, Blade is some top tier shit. Tachibana really carries the screaming in this show. Nothing can top SAYOOKOOOOOOOOO. I feel like he brings his screaming A game in every episode he screams. But the rest of the cast are no slouches. Chalice, although normally not very emotive, when he screams he screams real good. It's always nice and loud. Blade is up there with Tachibana, a truly great screamer, but he just doesn't have the facial expressions or body language to sell it like Tachibana does. The supporting cast of blade even does a goood job screaming when the need arises. I feel like the only one who doesn't carry his screaming weight is Leangle.

>2. Kamen Rider W
Shotaro is from the same school of screaming as Tachibana. Always emotional, always great facial expressions. The only difference is his screaming is usually played for comedy instead of drama. But shotaro isn't the only good screamer in the show. Terui Ryu does a really great job as well, and so does Akiko. But I feel Phillip and the secondary cast really bring the entire show down. Phillip can't scream to save his life and most of the secondary cast doesn't even scream at all. That's what lands W squarely in 2nd place.

>3. Kamen Rider Fourze
Fourze barely beat out Agito for 3rd place. Like W most of the screaming is played for laughs but it is still damn good. Gentaro really carries the screaming on his shoulders, and Kengo is always there to back him up screaming, but the rest of the ensemble cast never carries their weight in screams. With the notable exception of Ohsugi. I was really disappointed that Libra didn't really scream in the show, because we've seen what his actor can do from Blade

They clearly wanted to make Core canon, considering how the cell versions of the black medals start popping up in the tv show around the time of the movie without any explanation in the tv series itself about them.

Now, in the end, the movie doesn't really fit at all with the chronology of events of the OOO series, due to both backstage change in OOO's plot and a dose of Inoue in the movie, but the medals suggest that it wasn't intended to be some AU thing.

Agito has some quality screaming, its just not in the quantity i would like. Gil's screaming when he transforms, the handful of times Shouichi screams, and the screaming Mana does are all very good screams, but it's just not frequent enough. That's what really detriments the show. The screaming was good butt it really left me wanting more.

SUBARASHI! ANKH! EIJI!
That's all the screaming there is in OOO. Granted its not bad. Cake Boss does an amazing job and i would love to see and hear more of him screaming. But the show is seriously devoid of screaming both in quantity and quality. Eiji and Ankh really dont bring it to the table and the only thing keeping OOO from being last in Cake Boss.

In terms of screamin Drive is a major disappointment. The screaming isn't often enough, good enough, or memorable. The only screaming i remeber is when Chace attacks the police station as a joke.They could really stand to step up their game in screaming. Drive does have good spit-takes though.
