Used Badam that had been left in a decades old cliff hanger, rather than Shocker.

Many returning actors, from various eras of the franchise.

Riders actually using their abilities through the movie, which should be something obvious but hardly happened in previous All Rider movies.

The subplots were all good.

Fifteen was actually threatening as an antagonist in spite of all the Riders around.

Now, the last 2 minutes with the "real" Heisei vs Showa battle sucked (There wasn't nearly enough time for something like that), and having the Great Leader defeated by two Sentai + Den-O was stupid, but overall I enjoyed that movie a lot. I don't get the hate.

The original "All Riders" entrance from All Riders vs Dai-Shocker.

I just love the whole scene, from Decade and Diend attempting to take on the whole Dai-Shocker army by themselves to the entrance of the other Riders with that soundtrack building up to them while the camera shows them all.

The Director's Cut also adds an extra composite shot of the Dai-Shocker army in the beginning of the battle, which makes it all look even bigger.

Well for the couple episodes before this, everyone was freaking out over Yggdrassil's ability to just nuke the fucking city, and then once Sagara gives him the means to do it, Kouta just goes "nah, I'm done with this bullshit" and single-handedly destroys it while everyone else was still wringing their hands about it.


I mean, fuck he didn't know Kachidoki was a fucking tank. Kouta was about ready to die on a suicide mission to do it, and it's only because he's hilariously self-sacrificial to that extreme that he goes along with whatever power-up Sagara throws his way to end the conflict.[

People tend to complain about Kouta constantly losing his resolve and being given unfair advantages over the other Riders in the series, but I like him as a protagonist a lot. I think he makes a good counterpoint to everyone elses' abuses of power.

I had this weird bootleg copy of the show back in 2001 my dad bought for me when I was in full Power Rangers mode and he saw it and thought it that it looked close to the same thing so he bought it for me. The problem with the Showa Rider shows is, to put it bluntly, they were children's shows made in the 1970s~1980s. Now, I'm not saying old shows are bad just because they're old, but really, watch the Showa shows, even just two or three of them, and you'll realize what I mean.

Story-wise, a lot of them are kind of the same. Same basic premise, similar villain groups, overall similar story structure, highly episodic. There really isn't much of a difference between, say, Kamen Rider V3 and Kamen Rider Skyrider. The protagonists all have generally similar personalities and overall development of their characters is kind of dry. Watching Kamen Rider beat up evil monsters and saving the day is cool and all, but even the original Kamen Rider show was kind of just the same thing happening over and over for a hundred episodes. BLACK is the exception here; it's the first one that truly tried to break the mold of what a Kamen Rider truly is, and it is loved all across Japan for it.
