I love how stage 24 of BX has 76 enemies. I mean, yeah, there aren't even 40 in-stage icons, but fuck, man, that's twice as much as you'd see on average in the older games. I love modern enemy density. I don't even use map attacks. It just means everyone deployed can get 1-3 kills per stage.

AP in general is a pretty hacked together game, it has all kinds of weird code quirks in it that you don't see in the other SRW's.

Like for example normally for shaded out portraits/mystery characters who show up for foreshadowing they usually have their own entries or share a linked entry with the character they represent. AP seems to think it's okay to just lump the text for all mystery characters altogether as one entry in the data as one monstrous eldritch abomination.

You're slightly off, Youmu has lower base damage but only by like 50. But Marisa actually slightly edges out Youmu because of Shotgunning giving a higher multiplier enough that Blazing Star becomes stronger than Final Spark. Also only damage modifier Youmu gets is the PS that reduces her focused movement range and it's only 10%. Marisa gets accuracy/base damage boosts from both Orreries Sun and Magician which easily matches up to that. She even loses in fuel economy with Infinite Kalpa being 80 MP with a much lower MP base and Blazing Star being 65MP with a much higher MP.

Really Youmu's main strengths is her high blocking and lower deployment cost making her a great mook killer and giving some good survivability. All Soul really does is finally give her a burst damage option against bosses. That is assuming Marisa doesn't decide to learn it too (probably not) since she also needs her final spirit too I think.

The only character who even comes close to matching up to Marisa in both burst and consistent final damage output is Flandre and I think full power Sanae.

Since I'm playing UX, decided to give Wings of Rean a go (already seen everything else form the Byston Well series). It looks nice and the Aura Battlers have a nice organic twist to them, but it really feels rushed, almost like I'm watching a compilation movie. I've seen almost everything from Tomino (Daitarn 3 and older non /m/ shows left), but this might be the weakest work of his I watched. Even Garzey's Wing (subbed) was kind of better, although Wings of Rean has much better production values.

Man, that space terrain rank difference between the Mazinger Angels that I mentioned a couple of threads ago is really showing now. Sayaka is getting around 50% hit rate on these Virgos with her rank B while Hikaru gets over 80% with her rank A, and they have practically the same accuracy stat. Against the Mercurius it was around 30 and 50 respectively.
It pains me, but I might have to bench Sayaka and Jun. The point of fielding them is to get damage with the Double Burning Fire, but by now I'm getting more damage from my Soul users anyway (Manami, Cecily, Roux, Galaria). And I'm gonna have to make room in the team for the Purus soon, I know both of them learn Soul.
Also sucks because I put so much money on Mazinger Z, but the MP Great is just better in space.
