I agree that a S3 would be a bad idea, but I wouldn't mind seeing the Akibarangers again in some aspect. They're basically a free ticket to poke fun at Sentai tropes, so having them at events like the Rider/Sentai concert, or doing little web videos now and then would be great. If Toei still had net movies, we could get a few of those with Akagi sperging out over the new seasons of Sentai since Akibaranger.

Not gonna lie, I didn't see it coming, but I did think it was total bullshit when it was revealed,though I think it was more due to the entire ending arc being a fucking mess. Mangetsu was only introduced 8 episodes before the finale when he should have shown up midway through the show. They kill him off a few episodes before the end, reveal that "HAHA I, KYUUEMON, WAS REALLY KIBAONI SHINGETSU THE WHOLE TIME!" then pull out a last minute redemption with "oh, well, kyuuemon just wanted his family back and to belong to a real family."

I was super disappointed that Lion Ha-Oh/Shishio wasn't even involved in the final battle, when early on they made such a huge deal out of getting him on their side.

and? It's still part of the ending. Just because 90% of your story works doesn't mean your absolutely shitty ending is immediately redeemed, even if it's full of deus ex machina moments or failures to dramatically satisfy the arcs you've established.

The predominant criticism of Kyoryuger is that 1) Daigo hogs too much of the spotlight and 2) the ending fails to end the show in a satisfactory manner, two points that are absolutely fair to make and not simply just "butthurt". To assume that people are ignoring everything that leads up to the actual final ending to shit on Kyoryuger does the actual people who liked the show (like me) a disservice because we honestly liked the show and were massively disappointed by how the ending panned out BECAUSE we liked the show up to that point. The reason there's so much "butthurt" over the show is because guess what? Because we liked the side-characters a lot, and to see them sidelined in the final episode was annoying considering one of the catchphrases of the team was that they were, well, a team.

Don't really think there's a place for a more "grounded" sentai as it would clash with the spirit of the whole franchise. Seasons can be dark but they're always fun in some ways.

Reminds me of a Gokai fanfic I read where After the 2nd encounter with Basco, Basco infiltrates the Galleon while Marvey, Luka and Joe were out and finds Doc and Ahim. He threatened to kill Doc if they didn't hand over the ranger keys. When Ahim brought over the chest, she disarmed Basco, killed the monkey and then shot him in head. It was then a whole PTSD thing till she ran into the dude that kidnapped her earlier 5 "episodes" later and reminded her she was a good person blah blah. It was the 1st fanfic that didn't make me want to kill myself. It was a good take on an ambiguous situation with good follow through but the spirit of the season was lost so it sucked ultimately.

Zyohger. I'm not into sentai or PR but I did finish Go-Bus a few weeks back and just lurk here every now and then. More into Kamen Rider, though I have watched the OPs and live versions of most sentai series. I usually watch the first episode of multiple series, though. Right now I've got Liveman, Abaranger, Kyoryuger, & ToQger lined up.

People have different taste. And I know it's not the popular opinion here, but a lot of people find Megaranger boring. Since that guy found Boukenger boring, I doubt he'll find Megaranger a good alternative. Of course, everyone is different and how he feels regarding it he'll have to decide for himsel.
