Those are pretty much irrelevant since you need a miracle for them to get hit anyway. What they need is ammo based weapons. The rolling beams are not enough, The Volstork beam uses way too much EN, and the single mode finisher is just not worth it at all, unless they're alone for some reason, and if they're separated you should be putting Lat in another unit anyway. I guess the equippable weapons system is there for that, but then again, none of the actually useful weapons come in pairs, so that triggers my autism.

BTW, speaking of the equippable weapons system, they totally need to make it so when you equip any weapon, it auto adjusts to the level of weapon upgrades of your mech.

As I said, the reasoning is that the whole Alpha series is just a mix of separate things and pretty much unrelated plots in the first place. The "canon main character" skipped a game and has her own agenda that ultimately has nothing to do with the final boss of the game, so do all the other main characters you can choose from. And the Balmar plot isn't even from that game series, hell they counted the SRX team as a separate series altogether in the series list of the games. That lack of coherence is what makes it so easy to dismantle the whole thing into plot bits and use them as needed.

I think a lot of the back and forth is because Alpha was running concurrently with OG, so they fed off each other for awhile. The really big change was not doing the full Balmer invasion in OG1, everything else is Alpha taking clues from OG and vice versa.

Sometimes I think I spoil myself a bit too much by going through the robot data included in these games, but the discoveries are just so fun sometimes.

Apparently Dancouga will have to fight against Original Dancouga at some point, and within the Ideon-based list of robots, I find that there's Bloody Gigantes listed, and apparently it's bringing in some Megadeus mecha to assist it. Guess I know why the prologue consisted of Ideon blowing up existence.

Also, Mazinkaiser and Grendizer team-ups, and instead of a regular Great Mazinger upgrade, it upgrades into Black Great.
