>>13666204
I wouldn't know, maybe.
I was bored and I remembered that tweet from that animator so I decided to read the respondes to that tweet. This is what I got
Shotgunned through S1 and G and mostly had fun, even if G threw in a bunch of stuff I thought was really dumb (you can't just help someone because you want to, you've gotta have an EDGY BACKSTORY).
From what I hear, GX kind of keeps up with that crap. Is it worth watching despite that or will I just end up punching my screen?
>>13666236
>(you can't just help someone because you want to, you've gotta have an EDGY BACKSTORY)
Hibiki's backstory being fucked up was hinted at in S1 already.
GX is worth watching but has a bunch of problems. Luckily it's mostly inconsequential to the story as a whole.
>>13665996
>>Since nobody was creating a new one:
I was just out for the moment.
>>13665901
Something tells me she would be like Maria most of the time but with some really OP moments from time to time.
BTW Hibiki being accused of hypocrisy was the dumbest fucking thing.
Like if there is one thing I could say about her after the first season, it's that she sure as hell stuck true to only wanting to destroy Noise and to just talk things out with people. She friendshipped the fucking final boss!
and then some random girl she just met goes "you're a hypocrite" and she spends the entire season worrying about it and ughhhh
>>13666233
I can understand that he's bummed that Dandy didn't sell much, but why did he have to compare it to Symphogear and dissing it for being "a show about cute girls"? Why does he stab his own fanbase in the back?
>>13666249
Because Shirabe's comment, while ignorant of Hibiki's situation, was still true enough. Hibiki was playing at being a hero to help herself feel better while not wanting to fully commit to the idea like FIS were.
>>13666239
I was talking about that one line early on where one of the villains basically goes "I won't accept you as a hero! You're not edgy enough, you haven't suffered!"
And then the show's response is to have Hibiki say she /has/ suffered because I guess being inspired by someone else's valiant sacrifice isn't good enough anymore.
(If it weren't for how great G's last stretch was, I probably would have been pretty frustrated with the show.)
>>13666249
Shirabe was definitely dumb for saying that without knowing Hibiki and basing it on other people's fuck ups.
Hibiki is generally insecure so of course she's gonna worry about it.
>>13666233
I like how they are implying that Space Dandy is not incredibly juvenile, perhaps more so than Symphogear.
>>13666264
It's a mature show for mature individuals such as themselves.
>>13666233
What a faggot.
>Muh deep show for manly mature men didn't sell well waaah Japan
Fucking entitled opinions like this make me glad stuff like Love Live can have 200k first week sales.
>>13666264
"Muh manime"
>>13666253
Yeah, I don't know, for what I know he works for Satelight and not for Bones and comparing both series in a way that reeks of "Shit->Symphogear, Great->Dandy, otakus only buy shit" and if I were a Satelight boss I wouldn't be very happy reading that. Also, he liked a tweet that was saying that Symphogear has sales because of the concert instead of the show, what a great way of shitting in you own work.
>>13666282
Just cause he works at Satelight doesn't necessarily mean he's working on Symphogear
Maybe he's assblasted that no one cares about Aquarion anymore or something
>>13666282
>Symphogear has sales because of the concert instead of the show
If you're talking about GX that's incredibly accurate.
>>13666282
Really can't wrap my head around it. It's his own baby. He was so excited with it being #1 selling show of the summer and getting another season.
This is fucked up.
>>13666282
Someone should point out that Dandy was created for the Bebop audience which is western and doesn't buy BDs.
>>13666289
>Just cause he works at Satelight doesn't necessarily mean he's working on Symphogear
He has been working on Symphogear since the first season and he was the one who "announced" that they will do a S4.
>>13666294
And that's why the vol 3 which didn't have an event ticket sold 10k, right?

Somehow that Bikki looks... older. I'm very much ok with this.
>>13666312
I'm not an expert on his twitter either, but I at least know he's the background designer of Symphogear and that he basically announced S4 after jerking on GX's sales.
>>13666277
I watched both Space Dandy and Symphogear and enjoyed both series a lot, they offered very different stuff.

So business as usual then?
>>13666377
But he was damn excited when Symphogear was the best selling show this summer and announced there is more Symphogear coming.
He was also basically the one who announced S3 will come back when G ended.
He very much likes it. This is why it's so weird.

>>13666396

>>13666417
>>13666253
I think he's just bummed that Space Dandy sold so little and it's not really an attack against Symphogear. More just "It's kind of telling about the current industry that Space Dandy sold like garbage while Symphogear's exploded".
>>13666392
The sales where pretty good, I'm sure the Blu-Rays are going to sale equally as good, but im still puzzled by the lack of more side merchandise, yeah we see the dakis and the mousepads etc, but no figures, no videogames, are they just playing safe and only going for OSTs, BluRays and Visual stuff?
Tell me there will be a Kirika Figma and a Micha Figma in the future
>>13666449
For that he could have mentioned any other show, not one he's actually working on and is hyping once in a while.
It's especially strange combined with the other picture he posted, "anime before, anime now", as if he's saying Dandy has all the stuff as the "before" anime and Symphogear is only "cute girls" like the "now" anime.
He just comes off as someone who's got a few screws loose.
>>13666468
>Kirika figma
Probably a daki
>Micha figma
Maybe dakis for the dolls after all the geahs? Carol and Elf9 too.

I don't know the whole story, but there was a falling out between Satelight and GSC or something along these lines.

>>13667042
Steam glitch or something, people are logging into accounts they don't own.
>>13667045
Not really. Everyone is being redirected to the same accounts so it's probably a backend error somewhere, or the supposed hackers had a bone to pick with certain users.

>>13667095
>Nah, the random language is a separate issue.
No, it's definitely the same. Different accounts have different store regions selected and are thus in different languages.
>>13667099
I couldn't even log in. It only changed the language when I clicked the login link.
>>13667106
You're logged in as someone at all times whether it says so or not. Click on your wallet or account details, they'll give completely different results. Actually don't do that, close Steam immediately.
>>13667106
So, maybe people are just getting into their own account in another language and freaking out, because they are American and the only language they know is American?
>>13667115
No.
>>13667112
I highly doubt steam randomly logged me in through their website. I don't have steam installed.
>>13667118
It's a caching error, you're viewing someone else's session.
>>13667112
>Actually don't do that, close Steam immediately.
Why? If someone can get access to my account why shouldn't I use this opportunity as well, instead of only being a victim?
>>13667151
Because the longer you're logged in the more likely it is someone accesses your session.
>/sgg/ - SteamGuard Generaloh boy! i hope they don't touch my 8 cents i have!

>>13667290
Some stuff just can't be bought otherwise.
>>13667290
The convenience of being able to order stuff online makes up for the 10 minutes it takes to call and have your card/account frozen.
>>13667300
In that case, it's fine, just don't save the info to the account. Enter it in every purchase.
Times like this make me glad I just pirate everything.
I can't even get into Steam.

How did Tsubasa get around Lydian without having security around her 24/7 in the case of a crazed fan showing up there.
Why didn't they give Hibiki any form of combat training when she joined 2nd Div, let alone any training in the first month she was there?
How did no one notice the mechanical structure of 2nd div's elevator allowed it to change shape into a giant space laser tower during construction.
Speaking of towers how was the Tokyo Skytree so prominent in the first two seasons yet we've never seen the old Tokyo Tower once
How did the FIS as a whole exist for years without the Japanese and American governments noticing Ryoko pushing her funds elsewhere.

iirc, they kept the piece in because it was stuck in a bad spot and removing it could make her condition worse so they just removed the smaller pieces that they can remove.
It probably didn't do anything in the time after the concert, just stayed there until Hibiki activated it, which does the whole transformation thing and yeah.
Her doctors probably just went "Oh, you got a piece in your heart from an accident years back that they didn't remove because it was dangerous to remove? Sure." when they notice the fragment.

The gameplay is great, and it's got idols. You know the "Nep games are shit" meme only applied to the first game in the series, right? After that they're all at least good, and the people who hate them are generally the manimefags from /v/.
>>13673440
>Symphogear
>Kaneko
>Wild Arms
It fits.
>>13673445
It's not my favorite, but it's certainly one of my favorites. No other game did time travel and multiple timelines like that game did. It's the only one where instead of a corridor with choices that branch to either "good" or "bad" you actually get a web of decisions to make that change the course of the entire game and make things play out drastically differently. The problem is that (much like with higher difficultly levels) most devs nowadays don't want to put effort in to design things that only a small fraction of the playerbase with experience. So now, we just get 2 streamlined paths so people can play one run of each and then devs can pretend the game has great replayability.

Stop. Compile Heart games aren't low quality, but they're not exactly fantastic either. CH puts out games that are in that special in between zone of "if you like them you like them, if you don't you don't". Stop shitting up the thread over useless arguments.
>>13673588
Actually, it's not. The shitposting storm about Neptunia all started on /v/. But please go ahead and explain how you've played all the games in the series and how they're shit games and you're not just parroting some shitposting you heard. I'm sure you have a well informed opinion and aren't talking out of your ass and pretending to be clever with your comment about irony.
>>13673577
>So now, we just get 2 streamlined paths so people can play one run of each and then devs can pretend the game has great replayability.
So much this. The worst offender is the extra content that is locked out of a new game+, especially on an overly long rpg. Why can't devs just make everything available from the start?
>>13673594
Okay officer.
>>13673597
I know you desperately wish to turn this into a big thing again, but I never said they're shit. Claiming everyone who dislikes something is from somewhere you dislike is retarded. Get a hobby other than trying to start shitstorms in unrelated general threads, please.
>>13673594
>Stop shitting up the thread over useless arguments
Why on earth would we stop traditions?

>I can't actually comment on the games at all, I just greentexted "Compile Heart games" to imply they were shit without ever having played one and now that you've called me out I'll just make really vague blanket statements to make it seem like neither of us have a point
Didn't think so. Thanks for the confirmation.
>>13673621
There are more than three posters in this thread.
>>13673626
But instead of actually making a point about the game or speaking from any sort of experience, you decided that the "Neptunia games are shit" meme couldn't possibly have actually come from /v/, and that you needed to blame it on /a/ despite not knowing anything about the situation?
Just how much irrational hatred do you hold for /a/ that it compels you to bring them up whenever you can?
>>13673626
Naw it's just you, me posting on 63 separate IPs, and that other guy
>>13673644
I think you've completely misunderstood everything from the beginning. All I'm saying is using /v/ as a boogeyman and mentioning manime in the same breath is a very /a/-like thing to do. I couldn't give two shits about yours or anyone else's opinion on Neptunia games.
>>13673653
>All I'm saying is using /v/ as a boogeyman and mentioning manime in the same breath is a very /a/-like thing to do.
Yes, that was very clear. I'm saying that the Neptunia shitposting actually originated from /v/ and that it wasn't a boogeyman.
>I couldn't give two shits about yours or anyone else's opinion on Neptunia games.
Please anon, just keep making blanket statements and generalizations because of how much you hate /a/. We NEED to blame them for everything, it couldn't possibly be that /v/ actually started a shitposting meme about the games, and as is evidence by the lack of people ever being able to explain why the games are shit, that they are in fact not shit and /v/ meme is outdated and stupid.
>>13673658
I don't know why you assume I hate /a/, I only know about their boogeymanning because I spend most of my free time there.
>>13673666
>I only know about their boogeymanning
And this wasn't a case of boogeymanning, but the actual origins of where the shitposting started. Your need to blame /a/ for boogeymanning, when in reality some shitposters on /v/ actually started a meme is why it's clear you have it out for /a/.
>>13673677
Well all I can say is that you're wrong, I think I'd know about my opinion of boards better than you would. This isn't accomplishing anything, so why don't we call it quits?
>>13673679
And that brings me back to
>>13673587
You went ahead and lashed out at /a/ because of your blanket generalizations instead of actually knowing what you were talking about.
>This isn't accomplishing anything,
Neither is blindly blaming boards for things when you have no idea what you're talking about. Let's call it quits on that, shall we?
>>13673704
>Let's call it quits on that, shall we?
Thank you. We now return to our regularly scheduled waifuposting.
I haven't been here since GX ended.
Was there any Symphogear-related news?

The Kanadefags just started posting. You're not allowed to post the octopus till they have their dream journal time and then cry a little bit.

Gungnir has pretty good taste. It's a real shame Kanade didn't get to stick around longer.
>>13673767
Nah.
>>13673757
Your bretheren are obviously all just sleeping and having dreams about her.
>>13673767
I liked her when she was being smart and doing things like helping Tsubasa draw the enemies away from crowds, and teaching Hibiki about her hubris. I didn't like her when the plot made her retarded and useless again so she could get over it with a stupid volleyball metaphor and physically say "I have now overcome my trauma in regards to my weakness, and can now proceed to be usefull."
>>13673789
Probably. I haven't dreamed about her in a while, but I'm not sure if that's a good thing or not. When I dream about her she almost always dies.
>>13673789
I feel the same way, but I still have positive feelings for her overall. The same goes for all of the Gears and their ridiculous drama over the course of GX.
>>13673817
I'm doing my best to erase GX from my memory, because it basically left every character in a place that made me think they were retarded.
This thread moved slower than usual.
>>13673826
Don't erase it from your memory, just bottle up your hatred for it deep inside and unleash it on the next season.
Unless next season is good, in which case you can turn your hatred for GX into love for Symphogear's second coming.
>>13673834
Christmas day thread
>>13673839

We've already torn GX to shreds in /sgg/. All that's left to do is beat sense back into Kaneko.

OUR ANGER

>>13673867
Beamspam is for nerds
>>13673867
>I prefer the pink laser method of befriending,
If everyone could be as ridiculously perfect as Nanoha, GX wouldn't have been shit in the first place.
>>13673874
Let's face it, nobody will ever be as perfect as Nanoha.
>>13673880
Yeah, that's probably the only plot heavy series where every major conflict was external because the MC always acted calm, smart and decisively as opposed to having the MC suddenly scream "Oh shit, I'm a retard and can't solve this problem that even a 5 year old could solve by having a conversation with my friend and growing a little backbone". And all of this managed to be done while still having tension, character development and an engaging plot. That'll probably never happen again in any medium.
>>13673890
Time to make an eroge spin-off of symphogear and then make an anime spin-off of that spin-off to get back to the true path.
>>13673899
>eroge spin-off of symphogear
I accept this on the condition that the premise is "a cactus noise fucks topdad in the ass". Then in the anime spin-off, instead of the MC's dad being in the background with mysterious family secrets that are vaguely but interestingly hinted at throughout the series, he can just sit in a hospital bed on an inflatable doughnut because his ass was destroyed.
>>13673913
>Top Dad always leaves the scenes he's in to empty his colostomy bag
>>13673917
>Every time he's about to open his mouth violent diarrhea noises ring out and he has to leave
The metaphor in show would just work on so many levels.
>>13673850
>>And the obligatory weekly retarded argument over nothing was cut mercifully short
Most people was probably busy at the time.
