Shouichi's actor always makes time to do voice recordings for video games, but getting involved in a movie production's a different beast entirely. The last time he made a physical appearance in Rider was in All Riders VS Dai-Shocker, at the very end where he delivered just one line.

Part of the problem is that the helmet's eyes don't always quite line up with the actor's eyes, and creating a battle damage prop showing their eyes would reveal that.

Also, in-universe, a lot of Riders aren't actually wearing helmets at all. Certain Riders, like Kuuga, Hibiki and W are physical transformations.

Another problem is that, generally, no one wants to create a relatively sophisticated prop that's only gonna be used for one episode. A broken Rider helmet's still gonna take time, money and resources to make. Low-budget productions like Kamen Rider strike to make as much use out of everything as possible. The big issue with Kiva is narratively, it's a fucking mess like most recent Inoue works - but whereas most of them still have the advantage of multiple good actors and honestly interesting dialogue, Kiva's got none of that. The most we have is Otoya and Jiro who are very well done, but everything else is sort of a mess.

Of course, it still has some 10/10 fights. It's just sort of a joke in any other respect.

Not even close, Takeru Satoh and Sota Fukushi are much more popular, at least in Japan, and Hiro Mizushima of Kabuto literally flipped the bird to agencies, made his own, and does whatever he wants now. he's also the first actor since Godai to actually be in an international film - Godai was in some South Korean films and one American one, Mizushima's going to be in an American HBO show.

Some do, most don't. Here's a quick and dirty summation for the past 17 Riders:

Odagiri hated acting for Kamen Rider because even to this day, he believed he was better than that, but he grew to enjoy the job due to a wonderful staff and while he'll always vehemently deny going back to it without Takatera, he has been spotted singing Kuuga's ED at a karaoke bar very recently.

Kashu is always willing to return to his role as Agito, but he doesn't have much of a major career these days. Hell, he'll always be quick to point out that he's a Rider. Cool guy altogether.

Suga doesn't act too much these days - he's in some comedies, a horror, a gore thing, nothing major, and he is up for coming back when asked, but it's usually VA roles he comes back for. I think he's just not interested in acting, given his small portfolio.

Handa fucking loves Kamen Rider, from what I've seen - not Inoue levels, but he does greatly enjoy being Faiz. We've seen him come back a lot, and he supposedly wants a permanent job with Toei, but who knows. Mitsuru Matsuoka wants to be acting president of Toei, for fuck's sakes.

Tsubaki's busy with shit like being in China a LOT. A lot a lot. But he is always up for coming back, and he loves reuniting with Hajime, Tachibana, and Mutsuki's actors. When asked to come back, at least for voice roles, he will.

Hosokawa, for a while, was thought of as bitter about the issues with Hibiki, but with him coming back for Battride War 3, he may be forgiving of them now. He does like TOshiki Inoue, funnily enough, they're good friends from what I've researched.

I've mentioned Mizushima, if he wants ot be back, he'll ask to, but he's most likely gonna be busy for a while. Hold out hopes, Kabuto's 10th anniversary is soon.

Satoh did enjoy his job as Kamen Rider, mainly since it helped him develop a LOT as an actor, physically and regularly. IT also hooked him up with a LOT of women, and I do mean a lot. Unfortunately, his agency is very strict on roles, especially given the context of Kamen Rider being aimed at younger audiences basically at the start of Den-O.

Seto is likely to not return not because he disliked Kamen Rider - he supposedly is fond of his role, but not as much as say, Satoh or Sota. Thing is, he's a musician these days, he's in his own boyband, and he got a huge kick-off for it WITH Kiva. And we know how it is with musicians becoming kamen Riders. They gotta be old and rich and requesting a role. But who knows, maybe we'll see something in 2018.

Inoue fucking loves tokusatsu, not just Kamen Rider, quite a load. Every major acting role he's had is quite action heavy, and should he choose, it'll typically be a tokusatsu role such as Garo or Kame nRider. Kamen Rider holds a large place in his heart however, to the point he's memorized the measurements of Takaiwa Seiji in every Rider costume he's worn and managed to get an autograph from Amemiya (WHo's worked on Kamen Rider and if he's who I'm thinking of, was also very close pals with Ishinomori himself) on a Kamen Rider Decade card.

Kiriyama does love his role, and he wanted to get one last shot as Shotaro before he turned 30 - too little too late, but i bet if asked again, he'll come back like he did in Showa vs Heisei.

We know about Suda. He doesn't like his role because it made people think of him as some timid bookworm and effeminate. Didn't stop him from being a drag model for a year or two, tho'.

Watanabe isn't huge on his role, but he grew to like it similarly to Odagiri thanks to a wonderful staff and set of actors, becoming actual best friends with Miura. He's probably willing to return since that's the only role he's had in years that didn't fucking suck (Looking at you, Attack on Titan)

It's hard to enjoy an actua lrole if you dislike it - I never said he enjoyed his role anyway. He enjoyed coming in every day to work with Takatera, who was the one who convinced him to do the damn role anyway.

Sota enjoyed his role, though he wanted to be part of a Sentai instead -it was his parents who encouraged him to be a Rider. He's said before that he wants to come back when he feels he's "Good enough," but given his agency and how political such a claim sounds, it's very uncertain.

Shiraishi I'm uncertain on, since I never looked too much into it, but I THINK he's not too against the role, but we'll give him a year or two to come back again outside of a contractually obligated role like with the Gaim films. I dunno if it was a director decision, but he did do the Wizard transformation pose in some later show for laughs.

Sano liked being a Kamen Rider quite a lot, and was a huge fan of the franchise most of his life, and it looks like him and Inoue are buddy-buddy, but that's an interpretation based off of one variety show they were in together. Like Shiraishi, give him a year or two and we'll see.

Takeuchi loves Kamen Rider, and was very excited to be in his role. He has gone on to say - even during the show's lifespan - that he fucking hated how strict it was for him, since he was representing the police force AND Kamen Rider. He couldn't even throw his trash, he had to walk up to the bin. If he comes back, it probably will be under very specific circumstances. Or if he just can't get a proper job like most others who return.

Nishime is uncertain, he's one of the youngest actors for a main Rider and he's obviously under enough contracts to not pipe up too much about whether or not he dislikes the role. He doesn't seem to be having any major issues though, we'd find out by this point.

Also, here's a quick rundown on Showa actors, it's not gonna be as accurate as the Heisei ones (Which was kinda loose anyway, better than that stupid "Curse of Kamen RIder" manga though) however

Fujioka loves his role, and was very keen on remembering Hongo's lore... even if he did dress up like a frumpy grampa. Oh well. He's adorable either way. He loves tokusatsu in general, and I've yet to see him actually turn down roles in the genre. If any of you guys haven't, watch the Tomica Heroes series, he's in one of those shows.

Sasaki's very uncomfortable with showing his face due to injuries from the fire and all, though he will return for VA roles when asked.

Miyauchi's too sick and in poor shape to come back, though I bet we'll see something for All Ishinomori Wars. Pray for the old kaiser, he's been a hero in four different Toei toku shows.

Ryo Hayami will come back when asked, that's the best I can sum it up.

Okazaki was ashamed for Kamen Rider Amazon for a while. He was in hiding as a fisherman, but was (relatively) recently found out, and was told of all the fans of the show, and he came out of hiding. He's a wonderful man, if you guys haven't watched the show, watch it for him.

Araki's dead, unfortunately.

Murakami is an immortal cyborg who will most likely return if asked, and if he does, maybe SKyrider won't job for once.

Takasugi is a scumbag who did a lot of marriage and insurance fraud using his history as a Kamen Rider to fuel a portion of it. He's dealing with legal issues. He doesn't deserve to come back anyway, fuck him.

Sugata came back quite recently, obviously, in KRT, so he'll probably be up for returning if asked. Shame his special sucked.

Ishikawa's role as Shin sucked, he's ashamed of it, so is everyone involved. That's the facts. He is an Ultraman though, so maybe he'll return as Ultraman Hikari.

Domon's a Metal Hero as well, but he only came back for sequel stuff for either of his roles.

I mentioned him in the previous post, but as I said, Domon is also a Metal Hero (Blue SWAT to be specific) and both times, Toei sorta gave him the slip and only had him return in voice only roles in rather one-off things (Kamen RIder World or whatever it was, and B-Fighter) and he's sorta low-profile, so who knows what he's doing. This was the only pic I could find of him.

That's confirmed to be a false rumor. The new movie is going to be the 45th anniversary Rider movie, and the pamphlet teaser is Rider 1 focused and teases Rider 1 getting a power up (with a silhouette on the other side).

So, we're probably getting Fujioka back once more at least, and probably with more screentime than in Rider Taisen.
