First for Shu.
>>
Would you rather fuck an Indian Gynoid or a Cowgirl Gynoid?
>>
>>13553271
Cowgirl.
>>
5rd for Big Bang
>>
>>13553271
By Indian do you mean as a girl from India or a Native American girl?
If the former I'd take the cowgirl if the latter I'll take the Native American.
>>
>>13553294
The latter, of course.
>>
>>13553243
From one of the Mazinger movies. Watch it now.

http://anime.thehylia.com/downloads/series/great-mazinger-tai-getter-robo
>>
>>13552983
They'd have to go through Sunrise to get it.
Back then, they just had to ask Go Nagai to draw up a robot for them, right?

Personally, I'm kind of anal-pained that after all that time, there wasn't a Shinn/Kamille combo attack, but who the fuck knows what would happen to SRW if they opened that flood gate.
>>
>>13553279
>Inspired by his waifu's Big Bangs to unleash his full power.
Andy's my negro.
>>
>>13553193
You could use Funnels with anyone up to SRW EX.

>>13553062
Shuu isn't meant to be defeated. His mech has an all-barrier against Ranged attacks (so your best attacks are a no-no), and will run away after 2 or 3 turns.
However, do note that there is dialogue if you manage to defeat him. I don't remember what he says exactly, but I think Bian just tells him to go.
>>
>>13553315
Yeah, fucking 7 years together and they can't give Shinn a combination attack with Kamille. Or Setsuko and Shinn.
>>
>>13553315
>>13553338
They have never interact outside of SRW where would Banpresto get the idea of a combination attack?
>>
>>13553342
SRW GC/XO had a ton of them.
Though they were mostly "Double/Triple Beam Rifle", still.
I guess having 3D models on hand makes it easier to animate additional attacks.
>>
>>13553342
>Where would they get the idea?
That's kind of a creator's job. Where did they get the idea of making those two fire-forged friends? By telling a tale.
>>
>>13553342
A lot of shit we call SRW staples are just made up, you know.
I didn't see Daitarn 3 helping out with the Gaizock.

I mean, it's something I wanted, but I can still understand why they didn't do it.
>>
>>13553342
Also: where did Daitarn, Zambot and Trider ever perform an attack together outside of SRW? Yet they did get their combo in the games.
>>
>scramble commander 1
>final mission
>15 deployment slots
>only have 13 people

did I fuck up somewhere?
>>
>>13552394
Because.

>>13553305
Mecha's not from that.

Basically, in SRW 2, they decided that since they used the third form of Gilgilgun as the boss of SRW 1, they needed to make a new one in this game. So they designed a fourth form.

>>13553349
I don't think GC actually had any cross series combos outside of J9 Special and Dynamic Special. And technically Project V2 since it's 0079 Gundam and MSV.
>>
>>13553426
Well there's 14 series so unless you have one from each series except probably End of Evangelion, probably.
>>
>>13553426
I've heard there are a couple of secret characters in SC1.
>>
>>13553441
Yea, GameFAQs says Aina and Zechs are both secrets. All the other secrets seem like just weapons though.

Yeah, usually we get an announcement in Famitsu with a few screenshots then they do one of their Nico streams and show a trailer at the end
>>
finally, Scramble Commander is done.

It really needs some polish.

Dunno. I'm not paying attention to it. I'd rather go in as blind as I possibly can when it comes out here in February.
>>
>People think Z3 gave resolution to Shin Mazinger

Z3 apologists are hilarious. Fucking BX gave more resolution to Shin Mazinger than Z3.
>>
>>13553516
"BX gave more resolution" isn't incompatible with "Z3 gave resolution", considering Shin Mazinger had none at all.
>>
Just deleted most of everything from my 3DS's SD card to make room for Mystery Dungeon - including the vehicle to playing UX.
Feel free to insult me for such a rash decision.
>>
>>13553520
BX had the Great General of Darkness show up.
Z3 did not.

BX > Z3
BX had a new Dynamic Special attack
Z3 did not
BX > Z3
>>
>>13553516
BX cocksucking is never not humorous.
>>
>>13553523
You could've had at least gotten an 8 gigabyte or higher SDHC card. Besides, who's to say there won't be a new Pokémon game announcement in a few days or so?
>>
>>13553528
I would have, and I plan on doing so soon, but fuck shopping this coming week.
>>
>>13553549
Quoted the wrong person, obviously.
>>
>>13553516
>>13553520
>>13553528

Both Z3 AND BX are incomplete. First game to have pic related as playable will have proper resolution for Shin Mazinger.
>>
>>13553528
I'd say the extended Mycenea plot balances with the General of Darkness, considering that they both amounted to shit.
>>
>>13553528
Did BX have a playable Zeus?
>>
>>13553516
>Gave Hades a proper fight along with giving Zeus as a playable unit.
Holy shit you Mazingerfags will never be satisfied.
>>
>>13553567
Zeus and Hades were DEAD in Shin Mazinger.
Z3 just magic'd up their corpses rather than put the effort to even have the Great General of Darkness show up.
>>
>>13553555
Why so? He isn't need and never amounted to anything in the show.

>>
>>13553567
It's not Mazingerfags. There's this insecure sect of BX fans that practically deify the game and accept nothing less. Same people that constantly describe it with such charged words as "brilliant" and "gorgeous."

Shit happens, though. It's best to ignore them and move on.

>>
>>13553571
>Zeus and Hades were DEAD in Shin Mazinger.
Did you forgot Hades himself said he was coming back? This is what Z3 took and gave closure to the Mycean plot.
>>
>>13553571
Your idea of effort is lopsided and biased.
Give people the chance to fight alongside Zeus and face off against Hades and the Mycenae properly, as well as extending their plot.
Give people the chance to fight against a rather enigmatic and ominous figure in the show.
Both had plenty applied effort, and saying one outweighs the other is asinine.
>>
Times like this I'm glad I have shit taste so I can enjoy both Z3 and BX and OE.

That said, hopefully we do have something new get announced soon enough so people can have a new SRW to taut as the worst thing since everything.
>>
>>13553578
I'd love to know what threads you've been reading where BX is deified. Opinions on BX range from "Yeah it was pretty good" to "FUCKING GARBAGE 31/40 LMAO" with no inbetween because that's just how things work around here.

Next you'll tell me no one here disliked Z3

>>
What about muh Energer Z
>>
>>13553600
So you weren't here for BX's release? Because there was three on going threads of nothing but BX felating. You even had shit like people calling a 7/10 score "trolling".
And then there's the scattered aforementioned charged words of "brilliance" and what not that thrive throughout discussions that you so willfully ignore as you take the momentary minority of the tongue and cheek 31 posting and equate it to an average.
>>
>>13553596
I envy you, devoid of the very autism that prevents me from certain joy.
>>
>>13553626
>and equate it to an average.
I was saying there were two "extremes", not an average. And 31 was fucking annoying because all people were doing was posting THIRTY ONE at random intervals for weeks, not because of the score itself.

And again, I'd love to see where people were calling BX brilliant constantly. If there was any of that it was just a minority like you claim the 31 posting was.
>>
>>13553623
You fight some of those in BX. I have no idea if you do in Z3, but you definitely do in Z2, so.
>>
>>13553578
I think its less they like BX and more they want an excuse to hate Z3. If you notice, they're more using BX having a different resolution as proof that Z3 has no resolution.
>>
Yesterday was L's fifth anniversary, by the way.

So you should be playing/replaying L right now!
>>
>>13553653
No L only has either shows I don't care about or shows I don't like.
>>
>>13553531
>Besides, who's to say there won't be a new Pokémon game announcement in a few days or so?
Hey...maybe they make a game this time with actual post game content that lasts long than 2 hours and actually have some new Pokemon beyond like 30?

Ahahaha, yeah I'm a funny person.
>>
>>13553639
It and gorgeous are literally mentioned in every other post about BX and its animations. Desustorage stands as my witness.
>>
>>13553667
>actually have some new Pokemon beyond like 30?

Well that's obviously not going to happen, Z's only going to have new forms and Megas. Still, that'll be more than Platinum or B2/W2 added I guess. As for postgame, well, they officially ran out of reasons to keep holding back the Battle Frontier, so that'll be back. So... "yay" that?
>>
>>13553667

Last time I checked we spent half a thread a while ago discussing how BX's sprites looked off but the cut-ins were pretty good, whether or not they should've stuck with the proportions of the previous games, and animation in general.

>>
>>13553719
Man you're really reaching now. Backlink to a post calling BX as a whole brilliant. Not just a specific aspect like the second set of sprites for closeups that turned out to be a good idea. Since apparently you're combing desustorage for evidence you should be able to back up your claims.

Well I was talking about X/Y, when you added it up considering evolutionary lines there was actually only like 30 new Pokemon in Gen 6. In fact there was barely more than one or two per type and they still saw fit to re-tread old type combinations so we barely got anything new.

Also Platinum and BW2 did more in terms of expanding the game by changing up movesets, in Platinum's case it actually broke the game...ORAS virtually changed....nothing in terms of moves.

>>13553685
The last time I had hope I was rewarded by being spitroast raped in both holes by two big fat dragon cocks whilst Masuda cackled evilly in the background incoherently babbling about how Salamence and Rayquaza made him horny.

Never again anon.
>>
>>13553638
It is nice, I admit, to not feel an irresistible urge to call every SRW game I play garbage and instead say "well, that was fun, when's the next one?"

Also I was one of the ones who commented gorgeous, so looks like SORE MO WATASHI DA on this ongoing discussion here.

>>13553684
Hearing talk about an upcoming Z just makes me sad I STILL haven't finished Omega Ruby, even after X rekindled some of my passion in the franchise.

I haven't completed a third version of any Pokemon games since Yellow, though. I too eagerly snatch up the initial versions to have any reason to play a third version even if the extra goodies seem nice.
>>
>>13553766
>there was actually only like 30 new Pokemon in Gen 6

Yeah, but GS didn't add much more in that regard.
>>
>>13553784
Didn't GS add 100 new Pokemons or so?
>>
>>13553762

Gen 2 had the excuse that it was basically just a expansion pack for Gen 1. Everything in Gen 2 was just leftover stuff from the cutting room floor they couldn't fit in because of limitations. You can actually look back at old concept arts and design documents, everything in Gen 2 were in the Gen 1 stuff.
>>
>>13553762
Rushbird's pretty sweet. The only problem it has is when it gets the new attacks.

Pretty much the only pokemin that definitely didn't exist in Gen 1 concept stuff are Ladybea and Spinarak since they were designed through a contest in Japan
>>

Wasn't this one of those impossible hard winkysoft era games?
>>
>>13553813
So you're going to play Compact 2? Or going through another game that needs its OST ripped? Because there's one game that needs a better rip. It's K
>>
>>13553821
He didn't have much trouble with it because he apparently dumped money on a small number of units, put all his V-Ups on one thing with 4 part slots, and let them do the bulk of the work. I assume.
>>
>>13553817
Funnily enough I think they actually amongst the weakest Pokemon in the ENTIRE series for pure stats. Their base stat totals only amount up to like 390, only fully evolved stuff weaker than that are Kricketune, Delcatty, Dustox and Farfetch'd.

At least two of those are deliberate joke/novelties the rest are just WHY DO YOU EVEN FUCKING EXIST.
>>
>>13553837
DEDLELEDLEEDLEDLEDLE WHOOOOOOOP
>>
>>13553821
It actually is fucking hard, especially considering I played the favorites game with some units that fall off pretty hard.
>>13553836
That said, yes, L-Gaim with 4 V-ups is pretty hard to stop even in the lategame. it one shotted Don Sauzer, which was pretty hilarious.
>>13553822
And I actually very well considered K, mainly because the one in the pastebin has the same issue as what W's did, and I was lucky to find that someone else had done a better version of W's rips.
But I was debating between Alpha and Compact 2.
>>
>>13553856
I say go for the whole Compact trilogy. So we can HAVE A PURE TIME.
>>
>>13553792
I love rushbird's design and the general concept of the unit, but its attacks are pretty boring, even with all the cut-in hype, it's just a bunch of beams and a punch, and the punch is the most exciting of them.

And the combination attack is incredibly lame and could have just been a shine spark move to the same effect.

I'd have been okay with it if it were a bit more of a direct knockoff of zeorymer, with flashes and waves and shit instead of just big destruction beams with a backpack combination finale.
>>
>>13553856
>Alpha and Compact 2
Why would you even bother with Compact 2? Even with the frameskipping set as high as it'll go you'll be playing it for at least a month since it's almost 100 stages long and you still can't turn off the animations. You really should save the longer games for later.

Alpha 1 at least has skippable animations and a really fast first third. Plus with the way you play favorites and your love affair with mapws the lategame won't be any trouble at all for you.

The thing about Domon is that he needs to be fairly high-level (I'm talking 50s here) for his finishers to get a noticeable power boost. You can't upgrade them so you get a boost based on levels. And even though 64 has level scaling, I only managed low-40s playing normally.

Most people do it without realizing it, you'll be amazed how hard you'll cringe upon listening to others trying to spout memes IRL.

It will lead to to a lot of awkward silences and you trying to find any excuse to leave the room.
>>
I'd like your opinions on this matter.
I'm uploading videos of all of the attacks for each unit in Compact, and I'm wondering if you prefer
A) All sound effects from the game are muted, and the background music is just the unit's theme
or
B) The sound effects from the game are not muted, and as a result the music skips to whatever point in the song the unit's attack begins
(See https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yBa-Gzo6LSg for an example of this)
>>
>>13554005
B)
Gotta love those old bleeps and bloops, there is something incredibly therapeutic about them.

I didn't realize everyone was drunk already, my apologies, must've been too drunk to think about that
>>
>>13554005
I always like when we have the music play on continuously but still hear the sounds from in-game, so that the song isn't constantly repeating the same few seconds of the intro each animation. Like those attack compilation videos on Nicovideo that are no more (at least not from the usual guy, who's disappeared).

It's up to you how you do it, though.

Think B, yea. Could also drop the model numbers for any other Gundam units, since most people don't memorize those, at least off of /m/.
>>
>>13554023
If I knew how to do that, I would absolutely do that first. Unfortunately, I don't think Compact lets me set an option to silence the background music while keeping the SE on.

I think the current AI targeting by proximity followed by "can this target counterattack at this range or not?" is fine. The problem is grunts are laughably weak 95% of the time.
>>
>>13554498
This
I don't like handhelds throwing current HP into that formula though

It could be like:
Battleship if it's in range and there are no other targets inbetween the grunt and the ship > Nearest unit that can't counterattack if possible > Nearest target, if multiple are in range randomly pick one

And then slight variations if they're grunts that rush in or hang back and shoot. The ship targeting one is important because it might actually put you at risk of a game over for once but still easy enough ti protect the ship.

Grunts having combo attacks like the Barolls did could be useful but dear god I hope their ODE System never rears its ugly head again. The new Command thing in Z3 is an okay way to handle it if enemies weren't so accurate in the first place, especially bosses. It should only apply if they're within range of the command unit unit, like a leadership aura.

Ranged grunts with Hit&Away might be neat.

That's why I added being able to keep units between your ship and the enemies to force them to target stuff besides the ship
plus that'd make luring enemies in for Gravity Blast style MAPs super easy just by leaving a gap in your forces
>>
The simplest solution is just to have the AI target whoever is easiest to kill, of course if everything is invincible then that is a problem with your fucking game balancing to begin with.
>>
>>13554647
That again leads to the problem of targeting based on hitrate.
>>
>>13554647
That practically happened in J.

The AI would attack based on mobility and the only units that would ever get targeted were Nadesico, Mazinkaiser, and Granteed.

>>
>>13554701
On a no upgrade run that's not a problem, and the games are usually completeable with no upgrades so I assume they balance around that. And then add upgrades because being OP as shit by the end of the game is more fun.
>>
>>13554709
>On a no upgrade run that's not a problem
Issue is that is backwards as hell.

Why design the game around no upgrades in a game where you can modularly upgrade units. It's non-sensical to introduce a feature and give you nothing to use it against.

>>
>>13554715
The problem with balancing around upgrades is that you don't know the player's preferences and chances are there might be a situation where the game could be impossible to beat because player x didn't upgrade unit y enough.

Its much easier to use no upgrades as a baseline difficulty and scale up/down depending on how hard the game is.
>>
>>13554489
I was bored
>>
>>13554757
>there might be a situation where the game could be impossible to beat because player x didn't upgrade unit y enough.
Which is how the Fafner secret works in K. Unless you've jacked up Shouko's stats on a previous playthrough, she needs weapon upgrades to cause enough damage to the Festum.
>>
The other thing is that by playing with upgrades you're more likely to get SR Points, which shifts the game to a harder difficulty
>>
>>13554767
There's a difference between a secret and mandatory progression.

Needing upgrades or what's not is acceptable for a secret or optional objective, not something that's mandatory.
>>
>>13554767
I remember that, it was pretty high upgrading, too. Something like a full five bars?
>>
>>13554773
5 bars is enough to just barely make it. Max weapons is for consistency.
>>
>>13554757
And that is why you have difficulty modes, it's literally something that has been done since time immemorial and it adds replay value if you simply switch up rewards for doing so and you please both audiences.
>>
>>13554767
>Which is how the Fafner secret works in K. Unless you've jacked up Shouko's stats on a previous playthrough, she needs weapon upgrades to cause enough damage to the Festum.
I can call bullshit on that since I did a no upgrade run in K and got all secrets possible in a single run. You just needed a crit or two which is easy enough to fish for in a game which has optimized save scumming.
>>
>>13554779
SRW should have a selectable difficulty level on top of the 2 or 3 difficulties for SR point acquisition.
>>
>>13554779
And SRW does have difficulty modes, if you don't give a shit about SR Points it's easy to stay on Easy or Normal
>>
>>13554789
Its possible on a NG+ but not a fresh run. The Sphinx Type is too durable for Shouko to pull it off in time.
>>
>>13554792
Well there's EX Hard
>>
>>13554802
I was thinking more along the lines of combining how FMW had difficulty levels with J and W letting you select how many additional upgrades enemies have (because by default they go from 0 to 4 or 5 as the game progresses).
>>
>>13554838
It'd be great if there was some way to implement accuracy as a mech stat, like in more recent games. That would solve a lot of J and W's issues. Evasion decay might work, too, giving the enemies a reason to attack things like Layzner and Tekkaman Blade.
>>
>>13554838
I want to play the entire series on Hard/Lunatic but 1 is just so archaic.

>>13554861
You can make a pseudo accuracy stat in J by asming mobility or at the very least a portion of it as part of the accuracy formula.
>>
>>13554794
None of the portable SRW's besides OG1/2 (post game) have ever had difficulty modes. SR Points have been purely exclusive to the OG, @ and Z games.
>>
>>13554668

>>
>>13554838
>I was thinking more along the lines of combining how FMW had difficulty levels
FMW did far more than simply upping the upgrade levels though, it also had AI and enemy deployment formations changes. Also bosses as well as some stronger mooks would use their spirit pools.

>>13554875
>I want to play the entire series on Hard/Lunatic but 1 is just so archaic.

Ah that is right the bonuses didn't transfer if you didn't have the corresponding difficulty mode save file. Though at least by the third game they let you change routes as long you beat the game.
>>
>>13554941
There's also some silly choices that I made on my first run that I want to change as well. Although at this point, I think I'll just do it on Normal again and save Hard for Complete Box or whatever they want to call the all 4 games in one version.
>>
>>13554905
Sure. Just make it so that the player will get absolutely destroyed if he doesn't mind his positioning and deploys too many of the same type of unit

>>
>>13555001

>>13554986
I actually think FMW had a more clever solution to the SP regen abuse thing, there was one buyable pilot skill you could get there called 'Extend' which I don't believe has had a SRW incarnaiton.

Basically what it did was upon reaching 150 power/morale you'd instantly regen 20% of your total SP. It acted as a useful buffer allowing you to throw up a early focus or alert during mook sweeping whilst avoiding cutting into your SP pool for boss fighting later. But because of the requirement it only worked for the early/mid game making it tough to abuse.

It is a bit dire, however, when the game's negative elements end up being such a drag for you that you don't actually play past the first quarter of the game.

A lot of elements about it felt boring, dry, and just uninteresting. It was honestly entirely a matter of the series list.

For me, SRW Z1 was propped up by the fact i had a cool, interesting, and new mix of series that meshed well together.

Meanwhile, the last entry in the series could have really done with trimming a lot of the fat and getting rid of some useless entries that felt boring and unnecessary, Macross Frontier.

Well, depending on the game, they're usually against having anything to do with the government, but honestly, it's been a pretty long SRW since the government wasn't full of assholes.

I think SRWMX was the last series to have a not-assholish Federation, to be honest.

But on the other hand, you had Mazinger and Great Mazinger on the ZAFT-ish side of ZEUTH. Also in that example you pulled up, they were still testing on Getter Energy in secret, and I'm pretty sure there's an episode where the government tries to shut them down regardless. It wasn't really a choice, it was more of something they HAD to do.
>>
>>13555163
>Shin Great
I don't see why they can't just make up an entire plot for Tetsuya (assuming Blade is -somehow- Tetsuya through plot magics).

They kind of did that in NEO with that final Eldoran mech. Just design a handful of mooks and throw up Great General of Darkness and his flame boss that transforms into Hades after killing his first form and Shin Great could be a solid finale for Shin Mazinger Z.

He'll need some new and over the top attacks though. Something like a Thunder Break so big the entire planet gets covered in thunderclouds, sort of like an inverse big bang punch where the entire planet lights up.

Also, I want to see a Mazinger bade thats just a lightning bolt. Not a sword made out of lightning, but a lightning bolt he just grabs with his hands out of the sky and cuts enemies with.

>Outlaw Star

Throw in an Aisha Clan-Clan SS unit and we're good to go. It's got arms. It's robot enough.

Isn't that a bit more than what SRW is allowed to do, though? I don't know what kind of limitations they work with, but that can probably only get so crazy.

Then again, I don't know much about Blade in Shin Mazinger. I just assumed very little info is available on him, compared to DaiTeiOh which did at least have a sort of...proto-pilot episode to work off of? And probably some notes? I dunno, feel free to correct me on this stuff.

The amount of cross-series dialogue these days and stuff like the Dynamic Combination are probably about all they can manage to let through, if they ever think up that stuff.

Blade is supposed to be Tetsuya in some form, what with Great behind him and all. There to be there for the classic Mazinger scenario
>>
>>13555546
Didn't Miwa try to kill Asuka during MX's End of Eva stages?

>>13555539
As amusing is that would be, I think I want him to turn into another fist. If only because that way they can:

Find an incomplete Shin Mazinkaiser missing its arms. The project was taking too long so Juzo Kabuto took the arms and made mechs out of them. He made lesser god-devils out of the body of the first god-devil. I think Uncle Go would approve.

Shin Mazinkaiser comes alive when Tetsuya and Kojji become its fists. Instead of a pilder its head erupts with a crown of fire (with a little Z inside it).

Its weakest attack is shooting off both of them as a double big bang punch. It comes with three modes. GOD. DEVIL. and BEYOND. GOD acts as an amp-ed up Shin Great with lots of lightning and heaven based attacks. DEVIL is more Z based with photon-fire attacks. As in photon energy that acts like hellfire. With mouths and shit. Because.

BEYOND activates at max will. And its final attack is banishing the enemy to a dimension of endless photon-Mazingers who all rocket punch the enemy for eternity like the ending of ZERO.

>>13555571
Well given what happens in the show he mayyyyy not be Tetsuya. But then again he might be. The show is from the same guy that gave us Schwartz Bruder after all.

Ah, you got me there.

The Mazinger dimension is actually the red jewel in its chest. Shin Mazinkaiser is powered by the constant warring between dying and regenerating photon-Mazingers that occurs inside him as a shout-out to hell as depicted in Go Nagai's Devilman Lady.

He's powered by robot angel hell.

There are ones that understand that making one horrible murder death squad (ie your team) is a great idea. I'd argue that the three games with Dragonar had competent Feds too, the idiots who locked up Kamille in A aside, since pretty much all of those had the Dragoon rampage as canon.

>I mean, outside of what you might be turning FIRST's into.

The Federation in FIRST is basically "LET'S MASS PRODUCE _ALL_ OF THE THINGS". Some projects don't really pan out (it turns out it takes a lot more resources to mass produce Zambot 3 and Gaiking models than they actually can provide on the battlefield, especially since they need specialized training/pilots to work), but in general they get good things going with Dragoons, the GM line, Mazinger Army units, and MP Getters. So they're competent in that regard.

But it bites the heroes in the ass eventually because by the time of the third game, the Titans control everything in the front and Muge Zolbados's supercomputer controls them from behind. And maybe one or two other series in there too, but the point is the government spends most of the game being an asshole to you.

On the subject of SRWZ1, did any of you guys use the Morale+ Skills at all? Also, how many people did you give Attack Again?
>>
>>13556031
Will+ (Enemy Killed) is great on anyone if they have the room for it, especially if it's someone you want to ramp up will fast like Touga or Renton.

Attack Again is easily great on:
Amuro (has it by default)
Kei (has it by default)
Gainer (Game Champ)
Apollo (Element System, ho)

And with a bit of investment into Skill is easily usable on a first run:
Roger
Banjo
Tetsuya
Shin
Kamille
Sandman
Kira (Kinda optional really, if you just wanna wreck shit with his ALL you can go right ahead)

Most other pilots either need the skill slots for more important things, or don't have Skill that's high enough, or their mechs aren't really equipped to take advantage of it. Or they probably won't be leading a squad by endgame.

This is all off the top of my head so I may have missed people.
>>
>>13556060
I seem to remember Toshiya being a decent user of Attack Again, but I'm almost certain my memory is playing tricks on me.
>>
>>13556063
Ehhhh his skill is kinda on the low side. Like, it's potentially usable like Jiron, but realistically you're not gonna get either of them high enough to double tap most bosses on a first run. And lowering defense and he can't even do Sigma Breast followed by Big Wing since the later is an ALL, and using a Sigma Breast followed up with a weaker Sigma Breast is a huge waste of EN even with Trinity Charge.

I found it more useful to build him like a support attacker and put someone with Zeal in his squad, so you can use Sigma Breast then burn the rest of his EN supporting units with range 2 or higher finishers also attacking the boss.

How high would you say someone's natural skill needs to be for it to be a worthwhile investment? I was thinking of putting it on Toga after a video I saw, but this would be the start me finishing both sides, where he would have an assload of PP.

Also, how many extra items do you get after finishing both sides? I'm trying to decide how much to upgrade Setsuko or not so I can take her down on stage 13 for more items.
>>
>>13556073
I used Roger and Banjo's skill as the baseline since they're nearly identical in that regard. If they're close to that, or above, you can probably give them Attack Again on a first run no problem.

Touga is better off being built with Will+ (Enemy Killed), actually give him Prevail because holy shit he needs it, then regular Super stuff like E-Save. Maybe replace his Predict with Guard once you fill all the other slots.
>>
>>13556070

>I remember double Musouken basically blowing through any miniboss in the game
Well yeah, most double finishers will do that. But on a first run? God Sigma's not an ALL machine so it's not exactly gonna be raking in the PP, and it's kinda slow even with accel in its squad.

If you want a miniboss evaporator just use anyone else with Attack Again besides maybe Amuro, or Kei before he gets his combo attack, or any if your other big hitters like any of the Dynamic robos, Zambot, Gravion, etc.
>>
I guess we've kind of moved past that conversation by now (into the realm of parody anyway) but on the topic of enemy grunts game design...

With Evasion Decay I think there's no real need to worry about "why is the AI so stupid they attack 0% enemies but if they are smart then we have J" problem any more since having enough mooks pile on one unit eventually meets their evasion will stop being 0%.

I don't particularly think grunts need the ability to use Spirits - unless you're designing an SRW under completely different circumstances, each individual mook is generally not expected to live very long that their resource management of SP is not a real issue. Now, you can probably make an argument for letting bosses/mini-bosses cast SP according to an AI (and not the usual pre-scripted events SRW handling) but in general I don't think there's going to be much gains in the category.

My personal opinion on the best way to do things which I admit has a huge flaw in the fact that this is a licensed game and thus they're heavily limited by source material - make enemy grunts specialized with very distinct strengths and weaknesses

As is, the most common grunt design is basically completely ineffectual popcorn which you kill by the dozens for Morale, but the flip side that SRW goes to when it tries to be "tough" are enemy units that are "good in every department" - they have high HP, high dodge/hit rates and high attack power all at once.

There's basically no sense of "counter-play" or "maneuvering" you would see in other tactical game like using AP ammo against high armor units, fliers having superior mobility to run circles around tanks and strike priority targets but being easily taken down by certain archer units in turn and so on.
>>
>>13556125
They're starting to add more status effects to the player side in pretty much all SRW, so the potential to make grunts tougher and actually expect you to do more than armor break a boss is there.
>>

Dunbine get, I really need to maximize his EN.
I gave up a Minovsky craft to save Garalia
Shou better be happy about this.

>>13556235
Who needs Kamille, he isn't elegant enough.
>>
>>13552538
Do it.

>>13553271
By cowgirl, do you mean like a rancher or a hucow?
>>
>>13553297
>>13553271
Indian. Delicious brown.
>>
People tell me I need to watch Giant Robo, I just haven't gotten 'round to it yet.
We also gained a Shiro Amada, we will see if he is elegant enough to rock with us.

You talk about elegance but lack the fundamentals son.
I'm disappoint.
>>
>>13556468
Well, if it's required material for the Forces Of Elegance, then I will get on it pronto.

In the mean time, dem little gendum eyes get me every time.

For the anon that was asking the other thread about 64's OZ

Its actually one of the two rebellion groups formed against Muge Empire (and its subsidiaries comprised of enemy forces from other series). Taking OZ Route or accessing it from the Complete Pacifism Branch is the only way to get access to Zechs but its advisable to take the OZ Route all the way for the better secrets.
>>
>>13556551
On other major thing about 64, if there's a stage that goes

45 - Name Part 1
46 - Name Part 2

You can't upgrade, change unit parts, etc between Parts 1 and 2.
>>
>>13556557
SRW F's multipart stages were the best.

So you deployed all your best units in part 1? Enjoy starting with 50 will in part 2.
>>
>>13556551
OZ Route is the best route anyways, you should always go down that path.
>>
>>13556448
Alrighty then, I'll go make sure I have those PP and money cheats set up, shove my old save somewhere, check if there's a newer translation patch, and get started when the new thread's up.
I'll make sure not to instamax every unit's upgrades and parts though, two upgrade levels a chapter probably except Energy because good lord do you run out fast on most units.
>>
>>13555957
>...except Neo had literally nothing new that Daiteioh would have used. Fuck, it didn't even have the goddamn battleship from Daiteioh!
You know sometimes I kind of forget Daiteioh is a Goro Taniguchi thing, which is weird when you consider the other stuff he's made like GunxSword, Code Geass.

>>13555957
>(and thank god for that, Leavanny and Vivillon are fucking amazing ingame)
Even competitively Vivillon is surprisingly effective, there was actually a player who took 1st place at a VGC Regional Championship with a Vivillon based team. Even Delcatty has a rep as being the core of a famous team which made it all the way into the World Championship VGC finals back in Gen 5.
>>
>>13556561
That's pretty neat actually.
>>
Aw, we reunited a pair of silly, silly people.
We even get to keep the applesauce, for what it's worth.
And then next stage we get to have Todd and Shou argue a bit while the best Mazinger girl (Jun) and her assistant (Tetsuya) arrive on the scene.
>>
>>13556606
So that means you're having the girls use Double Mazinger? I hope it does.
>>
>>13556608
Of course.
Dunno whether I should put either Sayaka or Erika in Mazinger Z though.
I think I only get Minerva X and whatnot if I go Complete Pacifism route though.
And I think I am gonna do OZ.
>>
>>13556612
>Erika in Mazinger Z
Did you ERIKAAAAAAAAAAAAAA a bit too much?
>>
>>13556612
Who's ERIKAAAAAAA again? I don't actually remember, to be honest.
I'd say Sayaka since she's main girl. Erika can get Best Borot instead.
>>
>>13556616
*ERIKAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
>>
>>13556606
Are you using Le Duo and Le Quattre?
>>
>>13556613
>>13556616
I don't know who she is, but I got her, and she can pilot Mazingers and related.
She is >>13556536
Is she from Grendizer?
>>
>>13556619
I'm using Duo, I recently stopped using Quatre though.
>>
>>13556616
ERIKAAAAAAAAAAAAA refers to Daimos' Erika.
>>
>>13556622
Good, Duo is best Wing boy always.
>>
>>13556625
Ah okay, that makes enough sense.
>>13556622
Quatre a best you heathen, go Invincidam more.
Also Duo a shit.
>>
>>13556627
Trowa best, followed by SEIGI and Duo.
All others are merely okay.
>>
>>13556649
Trowa is very close second, almost as cute as Quatre.
SEIGI is a jerk to third best and Duo is edgelord extreme.

I like all the Wing pilots, really, I just dropped Sandrock for a bit to try out Giant Robo.
I've run out of free spaces in my roster you see.
At least I achieved my goal for tonight.
Soon, the Mazinger Angels(or whatever) will rise again!

Also Kou Uraki showed up in a Jegan, I forgot 0083 was a thing here.
I wonder how they'll incorporate GATOOOOOOOOO into this story.
>>
>>13556667
Aw, a Jegan instead of a GM Custom or Powered GM or something? Boooo.
Speaking of, anyone know if the Powered GM has been playable in anything yet?
>>
>>13556671
Do you think Kou gets tired from shouting GATOOOOOOOOOOOOOO all the time?
>>
>>13556671
Doubt it, GATOOOOOOOO is just too fun to shout.
>>
>>13556677
Oh whoops I quoted the wrong post, I'm dumb, I meant to quote >>13556674 instead.
>>
>>13556612
You have to be careful who you use if you want to use the combo attacks. The combinations that work are:

甲児+鉄也、
甲児+さやか、
甲児+マリア、
甲児+ボス、
鉄也+ジュン、
鉄也+ボス、
ボス+さやか、
ボス+ジュン、
さやか+ジュン、
マリア+ひかる

Duke is fixed in Grendizer and works with all those teams for the triple attacks.
>>
>>13556612
Maria is the best Mazinger girl in 64. I dare say she might be the best Mazinger pilot in general.
>>
>>13556688
So that'd be
Kouji and Tetsuya
Kouji and Sayaka
Kouji and ?1
Kouji and Boss?
Tetsuya and Jun
Tetsuya and Boss?
Boss? and Sayaka
Boss? and Jun
Sayaka and Jun
?1 and ?2

?1 is maybe Erika I think.
>>
>>13556718
Kouji + Tetsuya
Kouji + Sayaka
Kouji + Maria
Kouji + Boss
Tetsuya + Jun
Tetsuya + Boss
Boss + Sayaka
Boss + Jun
Sayaka + Jun
Maria + Hikaru
>>
>>13556722
Ah okay, I was mostly right.
Erika can't do the combo attacks then? Hope she has something to compensate.
>>
>>13556688
There is also the Double Lightning Buster attack by Grendizer + Great Mazinger or Mass Produced Great Mazinger that can only be done by Duke + either Maria, Tetsuya, Hikaru, Naida or Kouji.

So far minmaxing the best pilot choice is

>Kouji in Mazinger Z and Maria in Great Mazinger
If you really want a girl team when put Hikaru in the Mazinger Z instead and you can still do all combo attacks.
>>
>>13556730
So who gets MP Great? Naida? Is it even worth a slot compared to the other units you get?
>>
>>13556750
