The ones you posted are great for that sort of thing. I own a sheet in white, gray, and red. They look great and come in a ton of colors. Pic related.

I mostly buy em off of HLJ. Find you can always throw a sheet or two onto a big warehouse order without messing with the final shipping price.

Only thing I would bring up is that decaling multiple kits with the same set of generic warning labels will start to become very apparent, at least to you. Now that I've decaled everything from early UC to AGE to Late UC with the same sheet, I've started to notice it.

It seems like you're masking before priming, which doesn't make much sense. Generally, you would probably prime, paint a base colour, mask that and paint details then top coat.

I found how they could make the HG Barbatos so cheap yet have a full inner frame.

They skimp out on the part/color separation everywhere else on the armor to keep the parts count down. I'm painting it up now and these white parts are going to need a bunch of masking for all the exposed frame and color bits.

I have bot seen all of zeta so I am ignorant to mark a recommendation. However for seed I now much. Either strike freedom or destiny will count for main suits but both have very little screen time and only appear 1/8th to the end of seed. If you have freedom already then I recommend destiny because it the more unique. Maybe consider force impulse for seed destiny. It is undoubted the most screen time mech in series.

I think it could work. It'd be less of a grenade than the RG RX-78-2 for sure due to it being newer.
The Core Splendor also makes up a bigger part of the torso than the Core Booster in RX-78-2.
They could always include an adapter piece for the torso part like they did with the RG RX-78-2 and the MG Impulse.

It's just a custom. They do this kind of thing all the time for their little mock-up battle images in manuals , flyers, etc. For example, IIRC the MG red warrior kit has an image of a 1/100 lightning in a picture of that scene where meijin and yuuki are having a match.

There are three Freedom model types in 1/144. The NG 1/144, which is not good, the old HG 1/144 (and its remaster version), which are fairly outdated by modern engineering, and the new HG 1/144 Revive, which is more show accurate (though less accurate to Okawara's original art, which most people are fine with). The most recent HG 1/144 Revive version of the Freedom is quite solid, with simple, effective use of the new soft PC plastic. It has some minor, if expected, seams, but they're mostly covered up and not too bad. The wings are solid and sturdy in most positions, though they do not have the range of options that the RG does.

It will require some paint (or for you to use decals) for a few blue and red spots (on the beam rifle as well as on the wing cannons).

Anubis main body is snapfitted and panel lined except for the metatron energy lines

The clear red on the head looks amazing


Pretty articulated and solid, can turn the head but the pseudo mechanic hair doesnt move and is connected to the top of the head which is kind of accured because the top of the neck articulation that the revoltech had made the hair feel like a part of the neck

Torso are two ball joint connected by a bar that give a lot of articulation going from torso cruch to side to side mivement, even the white fins are articulated at the base

So I read the full Gunpla guide but there's no real information on how to "age" or make your Gunpla look like it's been through a lot (scratches with metallic colours underneath, rust, faded paint, etc.). Anyone have a guide for that or any tips?

This. Most people's first attempts at "weathering" a kit usually make it end up looking like it was destroyed.

Think very carefully about where fade and rust would occur on a MS. For example, apart from micro-dust abrasion, MS that operate in space and have regular maintenance would probably have very little distortions other than perhaps around the joints from use. Even MS that are deployed to mire-filled jungles wouldn't be covered in gunk from head to toe.

Look at pic related; while there's some dust on the turret of the M1A1, its the tracks and lower chassis that are most 'weathered'. MS that have even occasional maintenance would be fairly clean.

Also keep in mind the scale of the suit; at 18m tall, the average MS is tall enough that most grime and fade would be fairly small and subtle.

In other words, don't take a lighter to your gunpla. I'm sure plenty of anons have saved those pictures from those terrible days over in /toy/ where we had to endure gunpla guro.

Could be worse, I suppose. Just some tips:

1) regardless of whether or not you must hand paint, always prime your parts. Get a cheap can of Rustoleum or whatever local brand of gray/white primer. Watch some youtube videos on proper spraying techniques

2) Thin your paints. For handpainting large, flat areas, I suggest using Vallejo paints. They're (relatively) cheap, are acrylic (so you can thin with water) and has excellent pigment-to-price ratio. In some cases they're better than Citadel, and much cheaper to boot. For small highlights, you probably want brighter colors so it can pop, I would suggest using cheap Testors enamels because they're easy to thin and have fairly high pigment ratio.

They show him working on it and then posing it in several different ways like he was proud of it, then trying to blow it up like he didn't give a fuck about it. Anyways, here's a free tip for you. Instead of using the marker as a marker, why not use it as a paint applicator? Just push the tip down in some manner of shallow plastic cup, then dip your paint brush in and hand paint. I think you'd get much cleaner lines that way. Maybe.
