While Takeru's father was a ghost hunter, his wife is murdered by a Ganma. He makes a deal with Sage and becomes a Rider (still alive, like Specter) to find 15 Eyecons and bring her back to life. Before his task is complete, he learns about Sage's TRUE motives; what evil things he actually wants to use these Eyecons for, and is killed because he knows too much.

Sage is the one who sends Takeru the Eyecon so that he'll be killed by Ganma; making him more easily manipulated than his father was.

As someone who works with 3D, I can deeply feel the frustration emanating from Rider CG.
I can sense the half day deadlines, the outdated hardware/software, the poor or inexistent support the bigwigs give you, the "I could definitely make this look better, BUT..." thoughts, the desperation that arises when you only have a few hours left and your brain shifts into "Fuck it, it's good enough" mode because you don't know if there's even time enough to render everything in the toaster they gave you.
