A scrub project that fixed a lot of TV-N's worst parts and is getting a V2 release that cleans it up further now, but it's not a full retranslation.

I was the anon helping with proofreading and editing in the thread, I know zero Japanese apart from a handful of common words and honorifics, and Ragnarock doesn't seem to know enough to do a full re-subbing project either.

But still, now we've got silky smooth 60fps video without the shit encoding (which frankly pissed me off more than the hack translation job), and it's better than it was before.

Even as a kid you can read or watch and enjoy stories that involve characters who are different from yourself. But when you turn around and go outside to play pretend with your friends as a kid, there are certain characters that you want to BE more than others.

Like I was HUGE into Power Rangers as a kid, and as a girl I had to be either the Yellow or Pink one because of that. I didn't care, I didn't question it, I didn't want to run around and pretend to be a character that was so different from myself at that age.

Part of the cognitive processes that come with maturity involve being able to take yourself out of that context and be able to write, analyze or extrapolate characterizations that are different from your own mindset or personage, but as a kid you don't give a shit about any of that.

I managed to do the opening pretty easily by pasting the lines in from MFC's episodes, then doing "shift times" on the entire segment. Timing matches up pretty well since the lines are exactly the same.
