/a/ can have a draw thread, why not us? So here is a draw thread.
Imma request Rabby!
Big Rabby holding chibi Rabby in her hand.
How about Pitz and Lapa trying to build a high grade zaku 2?
That depends, can you draw? If you don't have any drawfags show up, it'll just be a thread full of requests.
Quick somebody request something G-Saviour related to Shimille shows up.
How about the G-Saviour with this expression
i think in the past not alot of draw fags were or are on /m/. Mech stuff can be complicated for simple requests. That being said, I drew this today, so I'll be scanning this thread for interesting requests since /m/ was my first board.
Requesting Alice Imai (the girl, who appeared in GBF just to get trashed by goddamn Beargguy, and never seen again) with G-Saviour (the mobile suit, who appeared in the same, just to get sliced in half, and never seen again)
Friend asked me to draw this up awhile back. F91 Gundam's head, but with a little bit of shading I had to add.
requesting a fantasy version of the Gaplant, with it's active thruster units (the triangular attachments on its forearms) more like shields having extendable blades on the bottoms.
Why are people making requests when we haven't had a drawbro grace /m/ in a longass time?
Let's just contribute to the thread ourselves.
Which I say despite not owning a tablet or a scanner.
I'm just surprised by the almost immediate bombardment of requests after the thread was created, despite drawbros not having touched /m/ in years.
It's like some people here are really stupid.
This scene from the Anaconda music video but Drake is Venom Snake and Nikki is Ocelot.
can I get ZZ in this pose?
or deathscythe in momotaros' pose
or any other VA shenanigans you can think of
I need a Haro wearing Deathmask's Cancer thing.
Yes the Haro needs to have that specific face if possible.
Here u go.
As it turns out, graduate school is a hell of a reason to not have my desktop working yet.
I'll try and get it up this weekend, at which point I'll make a thread. Tuesday at the latest, I swear.
Requesting Primarda blowing a kiss to the viewer.
/m/'s always had drawbros, just not many who are active at the same time & open to requests (especially compared to the boards with more traffic).
And of the active ones, some of them are fooling around elsewhere, such as in the /mvn/ thread.
Looking foward to it.
Man that skinny Grimoire looks weird.
How about an SD Symbionic Titan?
My second pass, first was on paper. A design for the spacenoid suits from.
I'm working on the Gundam, but I'm not satisfied with it yet.
If any of you drawfriends feel up to it, could you draw a tiny version of your favorite mecha with their pilot taking care of it?
I seriously don't give a fuck about who it is, pilots with tiny versions of their mechs is cute as fuck and I wish there was more of it. Pic related, but very much not mine.
Requesting Soldato J with a pair of natural green and yellow bird wings?
I've been thinking about a concept where J becomes an evoulder type as well, and the transformation gives him a sweet pair of real wings. Kinda like the ones he had as Pizza, but not evil looking.
I lurk at the /b/ drawthreads, but /m/ will always be my home
this garbage I made is inspired by medabots, though I always wish they were a bit taller...
Some of us are still here, just having been slowly crushed by life and responsibilities, can't draw porn and robots in our free time as much as we'd like to.
20-fucking-12 is the last time I drawfagged.
I lost all my oldest in an HD crash around 2010 and the rest again around 2012, so treasure that shit man, looking back at better times is always nice to remind you of where we came from as a board.
I really miss this drawfag. The guy was prolific.
Would have helped if I had actually posted the drawing.
Attempted to draw a full mobile suit. The Gundam here is the Inceptor from the Gundam concept I wrote here.
Requesting Kudelia as a Codarl mecha musume, thanks.
Hey you kids, get off my lawn!
Katoki version of the first one.
Actually, I attempted an SD Deathscythe Ver. Ka. But gave it a few of my own additions.
r8 my original mech, /m/. what other things should i do, or what accessories should i add to the mech?
OR here, just do whatever you'd like. I'm just happy someone took it up.
Have some more cute in return. Not mine, obviously.
Hello! Random drawfag just passing through, wanted some opinions on some power armor I was working on.
Anyways, here's a question for other drawfags:
What do you guys think makes a grunt suit look good?
whaddya think of this one? im still working on the proportions, since the arms are really tiny and one leg unit is bigger than the other
So some nerds were talking about Brainstorm in the /toy/ TF thread so I drew Brainstorm.
Please excuse the shitty photo.
I like the soft armor look. I imagine a "doof doof" sound when you hit it, like thick hockey pads... Also you can never go wrong with adding some of those little vent holes Izubuchi puts on everything. Maybe on the pads...
Trying to do a pretend artbook page with regular lineart. Aiming for a kind of 90's design, so not quite retro but in between a Gundam Wing and Gundam X grunt. Some of the color schemes are taken from Gundam mecha. Lineart is always more difficult for me--probably because you have to communicate everything through good drawing and can't just paint your way through it.
My work has a lot of /m/ influence, although I'm more into planes and EXOs
pic related some quick silhouette designs I made recently
So I read Beast Wars Metals the other day.
Afterwards I felt so inspired.
Requesting Noa in a sweater or something autumn themed.
Standard hard flat brush
Here's another random mech I designed last year
The only mech thing I've finished rendering. Lot's of talented folk on the thread, it's really inspiring.
Hot damn. Has a real tight and powerful appearance.
I also really like this. If this is the first mecha thing you've finished, I can't wait to see what happens as you keep developing your style.
Thanks. I'm not 100% on all the color schemes, and I want to include the realtype/grey versions too, but for now I settled on these just so that I could get everything I wanted (lines + flats + colors) on one page.
A Kamen Rider with base 35 attack?
This thread certainly flew under my radar
Bumping with somewhat /m/-related stuff.
Kinda out of ideas so throw a request at me see I it sticks
screw it, posting anyway. Digimon's /m/ enough in my book
Here take a random-ass mech I just drew
Did this a while back, pulled it off my deviantart page. Never did get much notice there.
thanks, you post anything here?
This is not a /b/ drawthread. The thread stays up for weeks so people actually put effort into their drawings instead of shitscribbling am avatar over and over. I suggest you do the same or switch boards.
jeez guy i'm just trying to contribute with what I have to offer. I know it's not much but still, I worked hard on this.
I know this thread's been up for awhile, i've been lurking
I'm not trying to be rude. I'm just saying that you should actually spend time and effort on your pictures, something you clearly didn't do considering your post speed and the picture itself. Nobody is interested in seeing an avatar - vaguely related to /m/ or not - quickly drawn in 20 different poses, and people don't really chat with each other (or dare I say circlejerk) here, something you seemed to try to initiate. I'll bring this up once more: /b/ drawthreads are very different from other boards' drawthreads simply because a thread doesn't survive for more than an hour. Again I'm not trying to scare you away, I'm just saying you should probably either go there if you want to keep doing what you're doing now because it will be much more well-received there.
Also I'm /r/ing a Zaku. If you wanna do it pull up some reference and try to think about line placements. Take a more structured approach to drawing, it just looks like you picked up a tablet and started without a method in mind. You won't really improve by doing what you're doing now - if that's fine by you then forget I ever said anything.
Again, not trying to offend you at all.
ok that makes sense....I think that's what I needed to hear actually thanks. I don't really go into these things with a plan
You want generic green Zaku, 3x faster Zaku or No Zaku?
3x faster Zaku is best Zaku. But if I were you I'd just start with clean lineart and maybe simple shading.
Also I you really want to improve drawing realistically is very important. The sticky over at /ic/ summarizes it fairly well, and posting in the Beginner thread can help keep one's spirits up and one's ego down. Take crits with a grain of salt though, many people just parrot advice that's completely inapplicable to the situation
well here ya go. I'm gonna detail it more but I got work in an hour
thanks for the constructive criticism
Ye SAI is pretty gud. Try working with layers (1 Layer sketch->make transparent->draw clean linework->delete sketch layer etc), it'll make your stuff a lot cleaner. Also use the zoom function a lot so you can place small lines with more care
one of my last things I drew before my highs chool art teacher killed my muse, doodled here and there but havent really felt like putting any effort into it. Instead mostly build gunpla now.
I went and did a Barbatos since it's been a long time since I've done any Chibi's... Even more so for any Gundam...
If I was still going today id probably would have learned photoshop, instead I used paint.net or gimp for recoloring. would love a tablet with a screen instead of a pad but back then I dont even think I phone was out yet. Always preferred black and white just normal pencil though.sometimes Id attempt to recolor or add onto them like this.
I think he's saying you simply looked at the images and imitated what you saw rather than made an attempt to understand the construction of the drawing. If you don't know what construction is then go read /ic/'s sticky.
I really need to reorganize my computer files if I can find my old art easier on my newgrounds and stuff where I submitted them then my computer... But same thing, drew in pencil used gimp etc to clean up edges, then recolor. I want to say this was for mech day or art day on newgrounds... I cant remember which though been that long. Basic idea was most is weapons or theme was art/drawing themed which all stemmed from the sword because for some dumb reason I wanted it to imitate a pencil at the time. Also sorry its not up to standards with most of your guys just felt like sharing.
ah. The whole point of the design was as an extension of the A-10 from Muv-Luv, the whole principle of which was "More DAKKA".
The A-10 was based on the F-4 chassis, so I built this one off one of my other designs, with design cues from the A-10.
The state of drawing programs nowadays is weird in general. While I haven't used clip art, I know that although photoshop is industry standard, manga studio can do everything PS can and more. Sadly it's name sounds like something your 13yo kawaii uguu daughteru uses.
Have a Galaxy Man. This thread reminded me of how much I love drawing Mega Man characters, need to do that more.
You need good construction and an understanding of how forms work in 3d space (perspective) due to building a human form out of unique shapes. And you need to be able to make your lines go where you want them to, jittery mech drawings look like shit.
Honestly, imitate stuff you like until you can draw something that looks good to you without a reference. Better yet, get an action figure of a design you like and try drawing it from different angles - pay attention to how the joints work as well.
It does help if you have a decent understanding of human proportions (at least for posing) if you're doing a super robot, but for more real robot stuff look at some real machinery/industrial stuff as a basis.
>inb4 super vs real argument
Really? I thought it was hilarious.
Here's an old one. Sorry about the quality, the paper faded a bit
Yo. It's >>13297782 again. The old writethread died a while ago, but here's the Gundam from that. This took FOREVER.
Thanks man. It was for a writefag's idea of a post-post-apoc gundam where Spacenoids and Earthnoids have remained away from each other for so long that they have started to evolve differently, and the Spacenoids have long, tall MSes for gliding around in space, and the Earthnoids have squat, stocky suits kludged together from shit the Earthnoids had lying around. The Gundam would be just another one-off Earthnoid suit, built over generations, nothing special from the other Earthnoid suits.
At least Macrosaurus looked like a kaiju.
Great to see your work again, big fan of your style.
Where can I find more of the work you've posted on 4chan? My hard drive died the other day, so I lost a lot of your artwork.
Plus archivemoe died.
Requesting a redraw of my unskilled scribble from that "fill in the outline" thread a while back.
Further concept. I'm wondering if the alt mode is needed.
Progress on >>13369060
Sorry if it looks weird, it's my first attempt at actual Mecha proportions
The feet are treaded for maneuverability in harsh terrain, while the back wheels are there so the mech can just "sit" on them and go much faster on flat terrain.
That and this >>13393031 , pretty much.
Though I haven't updated them in quite a while.
Requesting a cleaned up version of this. Trying to make a phone case with this and the Dom head I have here was the highest resolution one I could find, and its painfully low res. Preferable add a small amount of space on the sides and above the head.
yoooooooooooooooooooooooooo- das neat
Anyone else take meticulous(utterly ridiculous) notes like these when they draw?
I've really come to enjoy doing speedpaints.
Even though I'd be better off putting more than twenty minutes into something.
I feel like its missing something though, but at the same time it looks fairly subtle. Was thinking of putting either a tiny Zeon emblem on the bottom or trying to stick the chest of the dom under the head, but that might look tacky
Working on this, will probably get bored and never finish it.
