Hm, though come to think of it, we've never seen a hanger like this on a SD before (at least as far as the movies go). It's more reminiscent of the Death Star configuration, so maybe the two-deck split allows more horizontal hanger bays.

the one buried in the sand in the new trailer is an Imperial-II class Star Destroyer which is 1600 meters, so yeah it can land on the surface of the planet.

possibly but the power of the explosion would have reduced the Executor to the tiniest possible pieces, i dont think there would have been anything that size left over, the endor thing is a cool idea, poor Wicket

I was always a sucker for the Eclipse, despite its ludicrously massive size its 99.9% deep-space engines and the sub-deathstar cannon.

Also the huge curved prow is so intimidating, looks like an ancient greek ship.

Yeah the Eclipse is one of the few gigantic EU craft that make sense considering how much of the death star was devoted to just the laser and its gravity well.

The Sovereign class was supposed to be staffed by clones grown onboard, supplied by a group of world devastators, and used to expand the Empire's reach to new galaxies. It was never supposed to be an ordinary part of the Imperial fleet.

A very solid craft even if it is just an Imperial Y-Wing stats wise unless you go with the Saga-edition game rules that gave them 40 conc missiles like a diet missile boad (I was boggled by FFG making them WORSE than Y-wings in every way)

I dont know what's up with these designs. They claim to be from a futuristing setting but its clear that their starships suffer from "ancient" warship design flaws.
