Why hasn't there been a decent Gundam show since Turn A?
All it would take is competent writers and a good director, but no, Sunrise always has to stick with those bottom of the barrel directors and washed-up Tomino.

I recently bought a physical copy of the OST to an obscure OVA called "Cosmos Pink Shock." Kinda like Project A-ko in the sense that it parodies other popular anime shows from its time...except Project A-ko does it better.
Fun fact: This is Kenji Kawai's first ever anime OST!
Anyways...the album is good and all, but I'm pretty disappointed that the album left out two BGM tracks from the OVA. I previously thought it was because there wasn't enough recording space left on the record, but in a bit I'll post a picture of Side 2 just to show you all something...
To anybody that has watched this: what are your thoughts on it?

This is Side 2. See all of that empty recording space? Pretty huge if you ask me.
The two tracks that were left out are rather short, actually...they are:
>The Main Title eyecatch in the very beginning
>The BGM song that plays when the soldiers are first exploring and investigating the Pink Shock ship after it crash lands
They definitely could've fit those two tracks into the record but it baffles me as to why Victor Musical Industries didn't put them in. Oh well...
As usual, I will rip the OST and post it here whenever I can.

Cosmos Pink Shock is a really fun and sweet OVA. Definitly worth a watch.
Too bad the video quality available is not that great.
Honestly I don't remenber the soundtrack, but I'm waiting for the rip.

Reminder that it's pretty obvious now the way this is going to end.
Mika is going to fuck Atra off-screen while attached to Barbatos before he eventually dies once the series reach the end.
And because Mika was plugged into Barbatos while fucking Atra, their kid will have a natural compatibility with piloting a Gundam without needing the Allah-Vagina system.
Then on the final episode they will show us a time-skip where Atra is all grown up and we will see Hush training a young kid that just happens to look a lot like Mika, to insure that Tekkadan lives on should anything come to disturb these now peaceful days.
This is so cheesy that I am putting my hands in fire that it will happen.
It's the typical Okada shit, down to the very last line of father figures and passing the values over to the new generation.
Feel free to screencap this post. I have a designer friend that works in the industry and has met Okada in person before.

Why do non newtype pilots fight in Gundam? Why can't learning computers fight on their own?
Is that ever explained? It just seems weird that the computer would let Amuro compete with Char, The legend, but the computer would still need Amuro in 0079.
Is there any explanation about what human pilots do that the learning computers can't do?

I could hold back my suspension of disbelief if the common soldiers had some sort of enhancement that would make them be competitive with computer pilots like a brain machine interface or drug prescriptions but so far I haven't seen anything of the sort.

Pilots are needed to perform the maneuvers that the learning computer records. It doesn't pull all of the MS's motions from memory all of the time, only when it's deemed necessary. When the GMs were upgraded with the data from the learning computer, it served to give them better mobility because their new movement data was derived from actual combat.

Why would you awaken any of them? If you awakened any but Earth you'd have to have some way of getting to it in deep space even if you could awaken it from Earth, which is physically impossible at the moment and would throw the dance of the planets out of whack, potentially catastrophically. Unless you want whatever planet you awaken to come to Earth just for you. A move that would destroy all life on the planet. And if you awoke Earth and transformed it in to a mech you'd also destroy all life on Earth.
It doesn't matter which you pick, it's pointless, selfish and/or devastating.

/m/ I wanted to come here after a while because I watched just the tv series of ideon and what to see how you guys feel about it. I haven't watched be invoked but I couldn't help wanting to talk about this show with you.
First of right off the but what is wrong with tomino.
The 5 eps were good for a beginning but then the next 15 were terrible for the most part. No characterization,no drama for the most part, nothing. Then the next 19 he did it, he made me really love his way of doing things and the tomino I knew to be like this was a prototype for zeta.
He can in such a short amount of time make these characters feel real or somehow pull you in too caring about them. He does so little but the emotions from his scenes and how the characters act really make you double think at what you just watched about a character.
The next thing is Why, why did he do what he did in the first part? why did he not just actually do his plot line? was it because of sunrise?
Second Why was the show canceled when
tomino finally showed his style? was it too late? If so that was on sunrise.
Instead of women dying like in zeta I noticed men did and in such a few amount of eps gije and sheryl became complex and actually sheryl was my favorite character in the end something I didn't see coming. You really fucking feel sorry for her. Why? Why did she suffer the most? I wonder what tomino's reason was.
This show could've been popular and could'e been a masterpiece like zeta but either tomino was trying to find himself after gundam or sunrise canceled it and it forced tomino to bring out everything and it sort of worked.
His works truly are something odd or surreal, when he does his trademark drama its odd from a director standpoint. There is very little but he somehow bring's out his melancholy. He's the only one I know who is able to do this.

It was more about the adults and their romance (it was weak untill the last eps sadly) which I actually liked. too bad the first part was utterly bad. Even though the tv ending was rushed I'm gonna now watch the movie and see how different it is and what tomino really wanted. since It was for just his fans I bet it will be amazing.
Sorry for writing so much I just needed someone to talk too about this, nobody I know watches mecha and old shows. They have idea how amazing it can be.
