There's nothing special about Voltron.

Its concept was already done before with Getter Robo and Combattler V.

Because Golion wasn't really remarkable.

It just got popular in the west. The only real thing of note in the series is killing one of the pilots early on and if that's it for your series that's sad.

GW stuff is generally overpriced or way overpriced, you can source general modeling supplies like glue or clippers much cheaper from general hobby or art stores. The only thing you might want from them is paints, which are good but have the issue of dying up really fast.

Gundam blew its load on the first show because they didn't know they were setting up for a 100 year megafranchise that won't end until the Earth is consumed in the fires of the sun. It was never prepared for more stories set in the same universe, and every time they try they need to make up and retcon shit in order to make room.

Thats how you end up with 27 secret Gundams that were also active during the OYW that everyone conveniently forgot to mention at the time, or interquels like Unicorn that stick out like sore thumbs because they jam really big and important events into the middle of a timeline where we know in advance it doesn't have any impact on future events at all.

You know the biggest mistake in Gundam? Beam weapons. Halfway through the original series, they introduce beam weaponry as the new hot shit weapon that is a one hit kill that ignores all armor... and Gundam never escaped it. No matter how far in the future they set new Gundam shows, beam weapons are still the be-all end-all armament of choice, because they didn't leave themselves any room for technological advancement aside from gimmicky superweapons that no one actually uses.

In the grand scheme of things, retconning billions of people into being magically not-dead is hardly the most egregious writing mistake in Gundam.

I absolutely loved DX Classic and Human Revolution. I'm not sure how I feel about the new one. I hate the Deus Ex tradition of none of your choices from the previous game mattering since it's apparently mankind's destiny for everything to be terrible forever.

But hey, it might be good. And if not, maybe the Witcher devs will pull through with their cyberpunk thing.

I liked Human Revolution, but after playing the original I can see why people tend to give it a hard time. There's just so much more to Deus Ex that isn't in HR.

Looking forward to Mankind Divided though.
