Welcome back.
Chapters 41 through 45.
Happy new year. How did the catch up days go? Let's have another poll.

We appear to have gotten through a large chunk of travel writing based on Dumas' own experiences. Now we are in paris there is a large influx of old characters making appearances, and Dantes seems ready to start all this revenge stuff he seems so keen about.

>Some topics for discussion
What is the relevance of Maximillian Morrel's appearance? What effect did he have upon Dantes?
How accurate do you find the description of Dantes as vampiric?
How do you suppose Dantes feels towards Albert?
Was giving Caderousse wealth a premeditated form of revenge considering what it did to him?
How are you finding Dumas' style of telling most of the plot and exposition through dialogue?
If anyone has any more feel free to post them. I never did any study of literature past high school level, so sorry if these aren't the best points for discussion.
What is a good film or television adaptation to watch once I am done? Has anyone seen pic related, 2002 film?

That's why I watch these films based on books I've read, so I can point out to friends 'that didn't happen in the book'.

>What is the relevance of Maximillian Morrel's appearance? What effect did he have upon Dantes?
I think it's pretty important, because it felt like the first time Dantes was caught off-guard. So far everything seemed like going according to plan, except for this time.
>How accurate do you find the description of Dantes as vampiric?
Don't really know what you mean by this. I guess pretty accurate?
>How do you suppose Dantes feels towards Albert?
Hard to say. I don't think he hates him. Albert seems like a cool dude desu.
>Was giving Caderousse wealth a premeditated form of revenge considering what it did to him?
Yes. I think he knew, that Caderousse would ruin himself considering how greedy he is.
>How are you finding Dumas' style of telling most of the plot and exposition through dialogue?
I love it. I wondor how bored Dantes was listening to this story again.
Caderousse is a stone cold motherfucker killing his wife as well. He was saying 'ok, you wanted me to be greedy, I'll show you how greedy I can be'.
Benedetto that little shit.
Wow actually all these kids are little shits.
