Because when I was a kid my parents thought it was just a phase like I said, and them telling me that made me think it was something incredibly shameful so I stopped telling people and it stuck with me until my early teens.
One of the moments that still haunts me and is a major issue is when I was about 7 or so and I was watching tv with my grandma, something about a mtf or srs or something and my grandma turned to me and asked "Anon, you dont want to be a girl, right?". I said no, because what was I supposed to say after everyone telling me it was just a phase?
I wish I would have said yes and I wish I would have pushed my parents more when I was younger or that they would have listened to me. But they're not perfect and it was just a mistake on their part, I can't hold that against them no matter how much it fucked my life up.

I guess I kinda repressed it around 10-12 years old but at the same time I didn't because I did some experimentation with my then best friend and it's still one of my worst fears that he'll tell someone about it because it feels like it could out me.

Then in my teens I realized how I felt and how shit it was but I was too scared of my friends and family's reaction. It doesn't help that I surrounded myself with a bunch of edgelords who still use the wrong pronouns for people on purpose (I'm not talking zim and zhey and that kinda stuff, just normal he and she).

I know my parents and sisters would accept me, atleast pretend to for my sake but my friends most likely wouldn't and my grandparents definitely wouldn't, even if I passed flawlessly, and I don't know if I can just give them all up.
