http://www.nhs.uk/Conditions/Gender-dysphoria/Pages/Treatment.aspx

>>
>>8657875
>Teenagers who are 17 years of age or older may be seen in an adult gender clinic. They are entitled to consent to their own treatment and follow the standard adult protocols.

then

>Adults with gender dysphoria should be referred to a specialist adult GIC. As with specialist children and young people GICs, these clinics can offer ongoing assessments, treatments, support and advice, including:
mental health support, such as counselling
cross-sex hormone treatment (see below)
speech and language therapy – to help alter your voice, to sound more typical of your gender identity
hair removal treatments, particularly facial hair
peer support groups, to meet other people with gender dysphoria
relatives' support groups, for your family
>For some people, support and advice from a clinic are all they need to feel comfortable in their gender identity. Others will need more extensive treatment, such as a full transition to the opposite sex. The amount of treatment you have is completely up to you.

and then
>Once you've completed your social gender role transition and you and your care team feels you're ready, you may decide to have surgery to permanently alter your sex.

based on these I have concluded that what they told me is true, and hrt, hair removal and surgeries are indeed refunded in uk. if they are not, please do tell me, as it would mean that my "friend" lied to me.

>>8658141

>>
>>8658181
holy shit there we go again

the fuck does "as far as doctor will guarantee" even mean

are they gonna do free ffs with doctors referral? what surgeons are eligible? does it cover entire ffs or just certain parts? etc etc

also lolllll you say you are not trans so how the fuck would you know anyway aand why are you even answering
>>
>>8658181
Ok. sure.
>>
>>8658190
She's wrong, afaik they NEVER cover FFS AT ALL. How much they pay for other things, none, part or all, varies and I can't give you specifics.
>>
>>8658190

I know bc I'm a law student mate, we covered it as part of a unit we do, for some reason gender identity and presentation can be a contentious, e.g. getting fired for dressing like a woman when a 6'3'' manly dude, using women's bathrooms etc. idk what each surgeon would sign off for, some would allow for more than others i guess, as an aside some women can get boob jobs on the nhs bc having bigger boobs gives them a confidence boost, if a doc will sign it off you can have it if we do it like >>8658202 says, it's specific

>>8658233

idk if that's offered, we only covered it a little in uni so that's as far as my knowledge goes, when i broke my arm they would only cast it and i had to buy slings etc. myself
>>
>>8658238
>they would only cast it and i had to buy slings etc. myself
Emergency treatment is different from long-term care. Anon's "everything is completely free" friend BTFO.

I'd like to see the trans sections of your textbooks/assignments.
>>
>>8657595
where are you lad?
>>
>>8658255

it's not a full unit, but more incorporated into the whole 'consent and bodily autonomy' sections, for example we have to do cases about how far s&m can go, if underage people can get tattooed etc, we had a trans barrister come and speak in an extracurricular talk about trans law, e.g. what protections there were, it's only a tiny area but one that can grow quickly with acceptance, lots of £'s to be made in an area like that

i'm not trans so my experience is limited to about 2 hours of class/talk time but there are a lot of people who don't know how the NHS works so I thought I'd take the time to explain a little about how not everything is free/offered but some things are possible
>>
>>8658290
I wish I'd seen that talk. Honestly the whole bodily autonomy and consent stuff I'd like to learn about just out of my own interest.
>>
>>8658302

it was pretty interesting, i didn't take notes or anything as i was only there for the good impression it would give, i can give you the name of the speaker and the cases we study if it proves to you i'm not talking shite

I don't know why but as a Brit I've never seemed to found other Brit boys good looking, I've seemed more interested to American boys, especially how they all submit and are just adorable and more interesting. Most apparently from Texas too, cute voices and looks.
But some Brit boys are cute, sometimes.
Is it a Brit thing?
>>
>>8658386

the 'x v y' things are cases that create law via judicial precedent, the acts are law created directly via parliament, i don't have access to the full case materials bc i'm on holiday from uni at the moment but you can probablky find out a bit online

>>8659905
I love the southern accent, i will go weak at the knees for the right voice. i do find the attitudes of some americans very appealing, they are a lot more polite, positive and 'can do' than the average brit. i hope not all of them submit though
>>
>>8658031
just lucky i guess
>>
Quick question. Are there British guys who unrealistically fetishize Americans the way there are American guys who unrealistically fetishize British?

I do love me an oxford accent and the sort of refined airs that well-to-do British guys have.

And maybe if he's nerdy we could do like Revolutionary War roleplay in bed and it would be funny.

>It starts off with me tied up and him dressed up as a redcoat officer striding back and forth telling me to pay taxes and I could be the American rebel who rebels by fucking him in the arse.
>>
>>8660207

Probably somewhere, i'm the guy from >>8660187 but it's not a fetish, i also like scottish guys as well as other national groups

a lot of the guys you describe tend to be totally insufferable, real sense of entitlement and snootiness that only generations of daddy's money uprbingings can create

daft nationality roleplay does exist, i've seen it before
>>
>>8660207
>Revolutionary War
>not American Civil War
>>
>>8660220
Right, I guess I am thinking more of like a character out of a book or tv show I suppose. Not sure if "fetishize" is the right word here either, I suppose you could just say romantically idealize.

It's not the snooty entitled assholes that turn me on, although they can be hot too obviously. I'm more talking about a well-bred and well-mannered English lad, usually with a clean shaven face.

More Eddie Redmayne than Russel Brand, if you will.
>>
>>8660243

it's cool, i'm sure there are lots of grumpy and rude white american guys out there as well

i understand the eddie redmayne thing, someone with his perceived pedigree and class with a decent attitude will be a bit of a unicorn but they do exist

btw, how are the brits seen in america? i only ask bc when I went there people asked about my accent (quite neutral english, nothing super thick) a fair bit, what about british guys is 'fetishised'? that they all have country houses and butlers or that they are all cheeky cockney chappies who love the queen and tea?
>>
>>8660267
>btw, how are the brits seen in america? i only ask bc when I went there people asked about my accent (quite neutral english, nothing super thick) a fair bit, what about british guys is 'fetishised'? that they all have country houses and butlers or that they are all cheeky cockney chappies who love the queen and tea?

It's a bit hard to pin down. It's not like all Americans have unanimous view of British people, or British men in particular.

Generally many American males grew up on a media diet of many famous British bands and musicians, Beatles, Rolling Stones, Led Zep, Queen, The Police, Radiohead, etc, so most of use who don't have ties or know Brits tend to get a feeling for how they are through music and other media.

Only like 12 year old girls and maybe very uncultured Americans (which let's be fair is a thing) think British guys are all Downton Abbey types with tweed hunting jackets and bear rugs etc.
>>
>>8659905
As a british guy, I've never found americans that attractive. I'm not into fat inbred boys with poor hygiene and a 'being gay is wrong' mindset.
Nor into false-flagging /int/posters.
>>
>>8660296

obvs i didn't expect a blanket view but i wouldn't have thought that bands played as large a part in cultural perception as they might do, my perception of americans comes from film and personal interaction

uncultured brits tend to hate americans, they view them as stupid, fat, arrogant and generally below their 'cultured' island selves, like this daft bastard here >>8660302

The Beatles popularity was literally called the "British Invasion". British influence on rock was actually pretty pivotal.

At any rate though, our media is shared enough that most people have seen modern Britain portrayed in at least something.

i'm surprised that British film and literature aren't of a bigger impact but if it's only jane austen and james bond/costume dramas that make it big over there than I guess it makes sense that radiohead or whatever can show the more 'normal' side of britain to more people
>>
>>8661290
Films do. Literature does but only as required reading
>>
>>8661332

i can't think of many non-romcom films set in modern britain that would really have made it big, can't really have a film about walking around a crumbling ex-industrial town on a friday night, dodging the pissed up fat girls vomiting everywhere, the vaping chavs who want to fight and the shifty immigrants who will stab you for your phone, wallet or just for laughs
>>
>>8661406
Point is just that most Americans know British culture. The internet has only amplified this and I don't think most Americans consider Brits and Aussies much more foreign than they consider Canadians. Aside from linguistic quirks and some small differences the anglosphere has more or less a freely shared culture.
>>
>>8661423

I think the anglosphere is more integrated than a lot of neighbouring countries, despite the distance between them.

I don't know what exactly I would call 'British culture' today, all we've really got is people who come from britain and do something, there isn't really a shared experience or identity over here, bar regional ones that you can only really claim if you are born into it
