A few threads ago I posted about being nervous regarding going to my first interview. Well, I got a call back today and I didn’t get the job. I asked why I didn’t get it and they told me because my communication and people skills are not at the level they want. I literally didn’t get hired because I’m socially retarded. They told me that although I met all the other criteria (education, certifications, etc.) they couldn’t offer me the job because it might lead to some issues in the future. Basically, I'm not normie-tier.

It sucks, guys. I busted my ass in school. I gave up so much to get to the point I am now, and it was all for nothing. At least it feels that way. I’m not a social person no matter how much I try, but I think I can interact with others well enough to where there will be enough communication to keep the workflow going without issue. I guess my shy personality is a huge negative trait.

I know what some of you are going to advice:

>Get out of your comfort zone
>Work on your confidence
>You’re never going to get anywhere unless you take chances
I know I should do all those things, and I’ve tried. I can’t explain what goes through my mind when I’m around others and force to interact; the anxiety, nervousness, fear. There are more job openings for my field of interest to apply to, but I don’t see the point. They will most likely reject me for the same reason.

I hate myself so much for being such a failure. Thanks to all that did give me interview advice. It was good advice, I’m just too socially inept to function in the real world.

I’m going to get really drunk and play vidyas until I pass out. I hope I don't wake up.

Like a professional happy hour is pretty much like any other one, drinking and talking about our work a little and then a bunch of random stuff only with other lesbians.
