I'm just posting here since this seems to be the most active trans gen.
So I see my pcp on friday for non trans related things. I'm slowly working up to telling him but I wanted to test the waters first and also perhaps see if he'd do a hormone panel on me, I want to just see the results because I'm curious and because of my mpb.
Is there a non trans way or excuse I can give him for why I'd randomly ask for a hormone panel? He normally does whatever I ask, if given a good enough reason because I'm chronic sickly. Any advice would be great. Also.. Would it be completely stupid of me to ask him a hypothetical question along the lines of how he'd help out somebody trans? I want to gauge if he's cool with trans folk or not.. I was thinking maybe

Yeah he's actually the best doctor I've ever had in my life, he's been seeing me for like 10 years.. It's just that my family also sees him a lot and I'm trying to tread this very carefully because I don't want to out myself mistakenly like with him telling his nurses or putting something down on my insurance forms since that all goes through my family at some point.
My family handles all of that and takes the calls for me, so I'd be horrified to find out one of his nurses called the house to say something trans related or if somehow the insurance got billed for something trans related and my family found out when they look over everything since it's their insurance plan.

Yeah it's only what the doctors decide to write up in their summery, and most doctors use a form of shorthand anyway when they write so a lot of the summerys look like gibberish, or at least to me. I actually don't know how it all works I just know you can always get your records pulled if you want. I know you have to sign a release if you want any new doctor or hospital to be able to look at your files from another doctor or hospital

Just go to the doc and tell them that you've been thinking about your gender identity, and you've realized your transgender. Then talk to them about your plans etc., and discuss HRT with them.
