Having literally zero testosterone in your body is not a good thing. Taking too much AAs is a bad thing.

Testosterone is responsible for more than just masculinization, and there is a good reason why women have some naturally produced in their bodies.

Taking too many AAs even without their side effects suppresses and puts strain on your adrenal glands and other organs. Usually it'll just be lethargy but if you let it go on long enough you can develop Addison's or other adrenal/hormonal disorders.

Having a T level of 20 is fine. 30 is fine. 40 is fine. 50 is fine. 60 is fine. 70 is kind of going up there. 80 is basically cis female at ovulation.

Having a T of 0 leads to crippling depression, fatigue, and more.

Taking just AAs is "okay". It's not exactly good, but it's not terrible either. The risk for osteoporosis is really way overblown. You can do it to stop masculinization or just experiment with HRT.

Anyway, as for blood tests, if you're confident you don't have health issues, go for it. Doing blood tests every month or so then every 3/6/12 is good.
