Lucky me, right? It was awkward by the end of the year, though, because I was the 18 year old freshman in a student apartment thing with some older guys and they had to have noticed that something was up. I caught one of them checking out my ass one day and came out to him because he was pretty chill. Life's weird. My second year, I was living in a similar dorm with some girls on a dorm floor exclusively for LGBT people (which was kind of shitty, but it was where they put me on account of being trans so they wouldn't get complaints about me). Now I live in an apartment with my girlfriend.

I wish I had the lifestyle and personality that would let me wear cute outfits and stuff. I'm a country girl and tend to get down and dirty even though I go to college in the city. I think there are two sides to this issue, as while saying people don't pass can be rude, I think we still need it to prevent hug boxing. And sometimes the things you need to pass can be changed, like clothes or hair. If we just tell everyone they pass, they can't evaluate themselves and try to make themselves pass better. I do agree about the hons, tranny, and mentally ill men bits though, as really those terms have never helped people and usually only lower someone's self esteem.
