I was recommended a very pecularly lewd and humorous channel on ytb, and most of their vids were about sex or whatever, including lots of LGBT stuff. I could care less, I mean I couldn't relate to 99% of their jokes as per usual, but something got my attention.
In one of their vids, they talked about orientations... And that's when the "ace at first" girl comes around (no need to mention the inaccurate representation, it's a joke at this point). As part of a skit, she keeps changing orientations and overthinking stuff. Throughout the whole vid, and especially through that skit, they basically kept saying that sexual orientations are a choice and people can be whatever they want (including being homosexual, etc)...
... Pardon me? I'm seeing more and more of this type of reasoning and I'm just-... I make a lot of them, in part because I've used them to hide being ace from people (lets you blend in well, right? Right?), in part because of who I grew up around. I only really think about it all in a joking manner but as I said, I've gotten criticized for it. It's funny now that there are some quite sexual inside jokes with some of my friends, though, including the person that I mentioned in my previous post that criticized me.

I just want to add that my first longest relationship failed because of how I was ignorant about myself and others, thinking I was normal.
Ex came up with huge expectations for sex, and I was left with serious confusion, wondering why it was such a need for others "all of a sudden", or how I was unsure if I loved them anymore (and them being skeptical of my love for them) because I didn't feel any desire to do anything sexual with them at all. I was crazy in love though, romantically (I still probably am). I did try a few intimate things to follow their reasoning, however to please them, I faked the narrative from A to Z because it didn't work like I expected.
When our relationship finally fell apart, for the longest time I felt guilty and mad, I even hated them for being "sexually attracted" to other people because I didn't understand how that was possible, and was left incredibly confused about myself.

Now, I can just tell others I don't work like them, and they don't need to worry in the romantic aspect of the relationship, since I'm not aro.

All kinds of people are incompatible on various levels.
Speaking purely about sex, plenty of couples break up over irreconcilable differences, as it were, concerning different and unequal desires. I.e., one partner has a higher libido than the other and isn't satisfied with the frequency of sex, or one partner isn't satisfied with vanilla shit and the other is unwilling to try new things, or one partner isn't able to satisfy the other in some other way I can't think of now. For the first time I talked to someone about my problems last night regarding my sexuality. It went great and she took it well as well as gave good advice. I'm glad I did it and feel like a huge amount of my stress is gone. If any of you have stuff bottled up inside I suggest you find someone you can talk to. It's freeing. To bad it took until I hit 21 to realize it.
