i've made every gen from trutrans edition on, i can have a semi-famous ftm who happens to be a 25 year old scene kid as the first picture if i want to
>>7022434
it's been a very long time since that was an issue for me but for the most part i coped by not coping at all
i don't know if it's a problem that can ever be surmounted without t or hormone blockers

i think my voice is genuinely entering the male range

i don't want headpats i just don't want people whining about what i decided to use as one image in 300 posts
you could easily have made it instead with an image that fits your standards
would you have preferred a different ftm public figure? we don't exactly have many
>>
>>7022953
If you're going to half-ass it, don't do it at all.
>>
>>7022434

it makes all my other health issues worse... so i'm usually so high and focused on that shit that i actually forget all about it for the most part...

>>7022852

or you could just come to nyc and visit...

>>7022972

idk who that's a pic of, but i also don't see why the op pic even matters... i never actually look at it, that comic that was there last time? i didn't even read it... no idea what it was...
>>
I'm 5 months on T. Haven't had a period in like a year, but I keep having cramps that feel like period cramps. No spotting at all, just pain. Should I get checked out? I have insurance I just don't know if this is serious or if I can ignore it.
>>
>>7023018

why would you ignore it if it's been going on for months, feels wrong, and you have insurance? i mean... if you don't know what's wrong i can't see why you'd ignore it...
>>
>>7023021

+ if you've only been on t for 5 months but you haven't had shark week in a year that was probably something you should've been concerned about pre-t you know?
>>
>>7023024
I had a hormone imbalance before T, I got my period very rarely and it would last for weeks when I did get it. Doctor said it's not uncommon and I could go on birth control to make it regular but I didn't want to.
>>
>>7023018
It's probably normal I would ignore it.

I used to get some small cramping when I started t and was supposed to be having my "period" then. Now it's just gone away since t has completely taken over.
>>
>>7023029

when you have pre-existing issues it's usually best to get shit checked out every so often... but i get not wanting to... i skip doctor shit too sometimes...
>>
>>7023051

there's a lot of shit i do that i wouldn't tell someone else to do though... and shit i'd do that i'd tell someone else to avoid altogether...

you should just go, if only for peace of mind + regular check ups aren't a bad thing...

I feel ok with never visiting NYC. I hate big cities.
>>
>>7022852
What part of Michigan?
>>
>>7023606

i can appreciate most places... but overwhelming city shit can be a turn off for me too... which is why i don't usually bother going to manhattan... but i did like london, rome, and san juan too...

the part of brooklyn i live in is somehow less crowded seeming than the small town in the poconos i was in before this... you can wander around and hardly see anyone if you wanted, it's pretty residential, and if you're ok with seeing people it's not like some congested time's square shit...

you can smoke weed while going for a walk if you wanted it can be empty enough to get away with it...

but there's also bars and restaurants and shit to do within walking distance... and like parks and shit...

nyc is 5 boroughs and depending on where you go the places can be really different... manhattan is just what most people think of when they think of nyc, even people in the rest of nyc call it "the city" cuz it's not like most other areas, and more "big city"

i actually haven't even been there since i've been back now that i think about it... haven't really left brooklyn and really just like 4 neighborhoods...
>>
>>7022871

He's kinda right about a lot of things.

Avoid plaid, don't wear baggy clothes, lose the fucking weight, etc. Most cancerous "advice" blogs on Tumblr would say the opposite and look how well that works out for them.

The one thing I didn't agree with was the square glasses. Pretty Tumblr-core if you ask me.

youre gonna look like a lumpy freak of nature and not be able to breathe my dude, just invest in a gc2b binder and if someone asks what it is say its a compression sports bra.
>>
>>7023830
They're not really supposed to be good for your ribs, since they constrict when you breathe, and you can bruise your ribs,,
i'd just get an underarmour type shirt or an underworks binder off of amazon, which are lighter material and not as heavy duty as the ones on their website

>>7023820

eh fingerless gloves are necessary to smoke outside in winter... i'm with you on the other shit, but those serve a purpose... ever try to smoke with regular fucking gloves on?
>>
>>7023830
No. Ace bandages are designed to restrict with movement so you'll likely crack a rib.

How hard is it to spend $30 on an underworks tritop? They're super comfortable.
>>
>>7023861
>>7023863
Would a binder show through a polo shirt?
>>
>>7023897

gc2b is better... tritops are decent, they hold up well too, but they're less comfortable, don't work as well, and run a little big...
>>
>>7023898
nope, honestly the only way you can see a binder is at the neck hole if the shirt your wearing is too big, id suggest getting a nude one btw!

Fingerless gloves are a godsend. Are you kidding?

Who the fuck likes having to take off a whole glove just to send a text?
>>
>>7023904
fuck... so its on Amazon right? Any links? How do i size it?
>>
>>7023879

i'm not real masculine... i have long hair and shit... not into like chick clothes or dresses or make up or anything, but i don't see what a transguy being into that kinda shit has to do with him being trans...

honestly if all transguys were hypermasculine it'd seem like less of a dysphoria issue and more just like a masculinity thing... i think the variety of masculine and feminine trans people kinda illustrates that it's something other than just attachment to a gender role...

so i wouldn't feel bad about it if i were you... some people are really feminine others aren't it means fuckall in regards to whether or not you're actually trans though
>>
>>7023912
youre a blessing anon, thank you so much

glasses are different /fa/m
you can wear clothes from a few years ago and look fine, but your glasses are something that needs to change with trends
wearing glasses like pic relly 10 years ago would have made you look like a child molester and wearing glasses like >>7023977
now makes you look like an autistic

>>7024114
i would just pick something out from the raybans section then if i were you, that's what most college age people are wearing now (dunno how old you are)
you wont look tumblr unless you pick out something too big for your face, or have a meme undercut dyed green

just look up girlier face men in glasses and see what looks good on them

>justin bieber glasses
>kpop glasses
>nash grier glasses
>troye sivan glasses

i know they're cunts but whatever

Dunno man, my entire family is plagued with bad luck. For some of them I'm not surprised but my parents are really probably the most moral and by-the-law people you would ever meet.
>>
>>7026810
This
Bad things happen to good people, especially since people take advantage of what they perceive as weakness.

>>7026798
Just because a cat eats processed pet food doesn't mean it doesn't eat dead things. Same with people. Why is it more of a murder to hunt your food than to have someone else kill and butcher it for you? When you hunt you can at least make sure the animal suffer as little as possible and that everything is done right.
>>
There's no reasoning with a nu-male liberal vegan pussy.
>bad karma for doing what humans have done since prehistory
lmao
>>
>>7026833
Nah, my point isn't processed food. My point is that like humans, cats sometimes hunt for the fun of it. Other animals only apparently hunt to stay alive. I personally don't really care whether people murder or hunt though. I've watched people do it, I know people do it, I personally have killed animals and I don't give a flying fuck.
>>
>>7026862
You can say they hunt for the fun of it. I'll rather say they hunt for practice, and you see this in a lot of animals not just cats. But true, humans often hunt, kill and torture for fun, and so does chimps though not nearly as bad as humans do. We humans are the most fucked animal in the world.

Just because its a fashionable outfit for young guys doesnt mean it would look good on a FtM. Ive seen plenty of girls wearing these pants aswell where I live, actually I mostly see girls wearing these type of pants. It might look good on some, but for the anon who posted the photo earlier it looks like a preppy sporty lesbian. And since the anon asked if it the below head area passes or not, Id say no but only because of the pants. The top area looks p good.
>>
>>7027216
It's not the pants the whole body from shoulders down looks male
If she had a thicker neck and didn't have pretty long blonde hair she would look like a man
It's only the hair that makes them look like a grill
>>
>>7027216
>Just because its a fashionable outfit for young guys doesnt mean it would look good on a FtM
It's such a weird concept that ftms can't wear things that cis men wear. If you don't pass in joggers and a tank top you aren't gonna magically pass better in dad cargo shorts and a xxl tshirt from the bait and tackle shop
You're just going to look like a homeless lesbian instead
>>
>>7027231
Has nothing to do with fashion. Ftms usually need to wear clothes that hides/compensates for weird fat distribution. Cis guys don't need to think about that unless they have severe hormonal issues making them look feminine, which basically puts them in an ftms position.
>>
>>7027231
Shit idk I guess to me it looks pretty faggoty (guys who wear it look p faggoty too tbqh) but what do I know. I just saw the photo when scrolling through the front page yesterday. And I thought it was a sporty lesbian from just seeing the small embed picture and that was judging on the clothes. (cant even see the hair in the small pic) so I figured Id give a non hugbox answer to anon.

>But Ill go now cause Im not a FtM myself, sorry for the nuisance.
>>
>>7027231
Mtf's have to deal with the reverse of this all the time.
All the girls in your area wearing jeans, converse and flannel, don't you wear that it makes you look like a man.
>>
>>7027246
Lose weight and lift, ftms have the luxury of being able to build up their bodies instead of having to try to build them down

>>7027251
S-sorry

>>7027252
But my point is, if she can't pass in women's jeans, converse and a girls flannel
i don't see how 22 inch shoulders are some how going to look more female in some other piece of clothing.
That green haired goth girl in Passgen passes fine in flannel and converse
>>
>>7025407
his hips are about the same width as his shoulders, and Idk what it is but those arms look like girl arms.

testosterone should fix that, but for now he looks like a slim female wearing a binder.
>>
>>7027361
also adding, he's looking a little short. maybe if he were taller he'd pass better.
>>
>>7027196

yeah in my experience it doesn't affect them finding me attractive, and it can come with curiosity but it doesn't always...

i have similar feelings about sex as well, but it doesn't change the initial shit... i've never made the first move other people do... and like even with dating that's usually close friends telling me they're in love with me... i can't have just friends usually, not close ones i hang out by myself with cuz it always turns into them having feelings or wanting sex or being weird and getting clingy and pushy and shit... it's weird, but yeah... if someone is gonna come over they'll come over regardless of how open you are...

sucks about the health issues btw... come over and we can feel miserable together...

>>7027278

working out isn't really a luxury all transguys have... in cases like mine i used to work out all the time, and physically can't due to health issues now...

>Like how cute feminine sneakers look on me
>most jewelery i like is for women and therefore i cant really wear them
>like short shorts, skirts, long socks and other feminine clothes
at this point it just sounds like i might like crossdressing and get a kind of narcissistic kick from it, imagin and seeing it on myself, but i also
>like to act cute, basicly like a little girl. (I learned that people, especially women dont give me shit if I act innocent, probably of my short height and looks)
>i love cuddling
>due to the height I dont feel as seen as a real man by others, sometimes think that if i would be a women life would be easier
>i like the thought of having a girl's body (without penis), acting hot to arouse my partner and even of getting fucked like a girl by another girl and have other sexy fun with her.

I'm confused. Do i really have some kind of trans-what-ever-it-could-be-called or is it just a phase? Normally i like my very manly body and being a man. After all you are the "superior" sex. You are stronger, can defend yourself better and get molested less, a career is achieved more easily and you look better when older. Yet i sometimes have the wish to let go and fall into the "be cute, wear cute clothes, be hot" behavior. I cant stand looking like a men when doing so though. I wish i could just switch easily....

I hate the stupid half beanie look everyone wears in the 2010s. Beanies looked better in the 90s when people wore them correctly.
>>
>hate doing my hair
>want long hair

I envy guys who have 'get up and go' hair. Guys who can just go out the door without doing anything except maybe a little brushing. People told me afros were low maintenance but they're not at all. If anything it was easier when I permed my hair. My afro doesn't grow more than maybe 5 inches and it becomes awfully annoying when it gets over 3 inches. Always tangling, needs combing daily, etc.
>>
>>7027545

any physical exertion can fuck with me, even something like brushing my teeth standing up can be hard and even walking and cleaning and basic shit is me pushing myself... i could work out on a good day, but i can't do it consistently cuz i never know when i'm gonna be out of commission and working out can make that happen quicker/worse...

i probably could swim a bit in theory (but again not exactly gonna get fit that way)... same as any exercise... but i can't actually swim, hate being in water, wouldn't even stick my hand into the nearest lake unless i was being paid (i live in nyc, but honestly wouldn't have even done it when i lived in the poconos for a while... did get shitfaced and walk across/through the delaware river sometimes though... but even getting all the way into that was just nope...) so that won't work out...

my family would make fun of me when my niece was a baby cuz she looked huge in comparison to me (her thighs were bigger than my uppper arms are and shit) when i'd hold her... so i'm pretty fucked with that, i just can't actually do anything to make it better

and i know it cuz i had been really into working out prior to getting sick, and tried like hell to hold onto that for a while 'til my health made it impossible... and when you can't make something like that a normal/regular part of your life you can't achieve or maintain good results...
>>
>>7027777

i realized a few months ago my s/o and i don't even own a brush, cuz i can't even remember the last time i actually brushed my hair... it's not tangled or anything, people touch it all the time... i just wash it and let it dry and leave it alone...

i have long hair mostly cuz i'm lazy about it... when my hair is short i've got all these cowlicks and stupid pieces that stick straight up

you know, with your hair texture you shouldn't be brushing your hair often anyway + if you don't brush it from the ends to the scalp you're probably really damaging it... making it harder to work with
>>
>>7027777

+ have you tried changing the way you take care of your hair? cuz maybe that's the problem...
>>

not nodding off anymore now that i'm not inside... i was like falling asleep on the living room floor (we don't have a couch yet... when we got there my bro was living out of boxes spread out everywhere... my s/o is slowly making it livable) with my guitar

This. Autism is the new meme. Everyone 'knows' their autistic but refuses to go to a therapist about it because they're not actually autistic, they just play vidya or surf the web all day, barely talk to anyone so they are awkward and socially retarded of their own choosing. Then on the blue moon they try and talk to someone they get embarrassed by something stupid they say or do from lmao.no.social.skills and blame it on their autism.
>>
>>7026876
If none of my friends are working or have to work on the 1st, I might end up seeing some of them. But if we're just going to someone's house and hanging out, I probably wont dress up.

And even if we did go to a bar or something, I'll dress up but not in a costume. I'll just do the "goth" thing I do every year. Since I don't get to dress lile that in my everyday life because I normally don't ever go out for fun. Just to the store or for work.
>>
>>7028976
Can you tell when you meet them that there's something different about them?
>>
>>7029079

yeah i can usually tell when someone is autistic... but i've had friends who were diagnosed on the spectrum so i know how to spot it usually...

it's not necessarily a big deal, but it can be really obvious and even if it isn't at first after a bit i can tell... i can appreciate the perspective though, and when they're interested in things i don't find entirely boring i like listening to what they have to say...

it affects a lot when having conversations or being around them so i mean... it's hard to miss...

but like i said i've been around a fair amount of people on the spectrum, and that could be why i notice as much as i do...
>>
>>7029145
In what way is it hard to miss?
>>
I just told my mom I'm going on T, and I was expecting a crappy response but she was actually... completely okay with it. I feel so god damn relieved. She's been awful about using my name, my pronouns, to the point where I don't even like visiting her anymore. But when I told her I had to be careful about the insurance I enroll in (new job doesn’t offer insurance) because I'm starting my medical transition her response was literally, "Finally? Great!"

It's good to know that even if she doesn't have a handle on the language, she's at least aware that I need to do this and is supportive of it. Maybe the name/pronouns will click for her after I look more male.

well, a study on UNDIAGNOSED ftms that used the autism quotient (which is better as a test of an allistic person's autistic traits than whether a person is autistic or not, but) found that over half were a standard deviation or more above the population norm and around 20% were autistic by the test's criteria
given, again, this is UNdiagnosed, i suspect the real number is far higher
most ftms i've met are autistic but as an autistic ftm my sample may be skewed

Since they're undiagnosed, isn't it possible that, rather than a link between being ftm and autistic, there's a link between being autistic and thinking you're ftm?
>>
>>7029737
anecdotal evidence: autistic transitioners do not seem to have higher regret levels than the general ftm population after controlling for tumblr's mediagenic culture (which disproportionately preys on disabled, including autistic, youth)
childhood stress and psychological vulnerability, which is high in autism, actually predicts a gender dysphoric child will become a persister (trans in adolescence) rather than a desister (cis in adolescence), and given the vast majority of dysphoric children are desisters it's easy to note risk factors when they pop up
>>
>>7029719
I'm not saying autism isn't real I'm just saying autism is the new way for lazy people to shift the blame away from themselves.

I guess you can say it's comparable to the gluten intolerant / gluten free crazed fags saying they're gluten intolerant because they feel bad sometimes and they're blaming that on gluten instead of the fact that they have a shit diet and it's too much work for them to actually eat healthier.

anyway... it's the things people choose to say, their mindset, their mannerisms... everything... it's hard to just narrow shit down for you and give specific examples when it's just nearly everything...

>>7029861

eh you'd be surprised how much shit can cause issues with gluten though... i haven't been able to have it without severe reactions (vomiting, lightheadedness, hives, getting really fucked up for a week after eating something etc) since i got lyme disease and even with the lyme out of my system the other shit wrong with me prevents it... it's not just celiac that causes issues with it, which is what most people assume... doctors also recommend that kinda shit for chronic pain even if someone doesn't get weird reactions the way i do...

someone saying that without celiac isn't necessarily just trying to make up for a shit diet... sure there's people who bullshit about it or try to use that like a diet, but i'm honestly kinda glad they exist cuz they're usually so loud and vocal they're probably part of the reason why i have food options in more places... it's a beneficial fad when you actually can't have that shit...

>>7029861
idk man i feel like that's a strawman sometimes
i've known people with inaccurate diagnoses (self or 'real') but it's not actually THAT common

+ and really the best approach is to just learn that it's just how they are and not to take it personally...
>>
>>7030627
closer to the second, but i don't think either of those are the inherent thought process (though have fun trying to put the images-and-concepts thought process of a lot of autistic people in words)
more like "i'm doing it because of this" without inherently being an apology, if that makes any sense
apologies have never made much sense to me and i've met a lot of other people in autism circles who feel similarly
>>
>>7030724

apologies can be meaningful... expressing regret when you've hurt someone can mean a lot, and hearing that someone feels that way can mean a lot too... it's just a level of care...

i just hate when they're bullshit or forced, and i'd rather hear an "i'm not sorry" personally, which is probably why i can handle autistic people... but it's a hard trait to deal with sometimes, i just get over shit quickly so it balances out...

i do know an autistic woman though who demands apologies from me when we've argued... she won't apologize for shit, but it's more like she sees it as me apologizing when told to as her winning

i usually only apologize if i mean it though... sometimes just cuz it's easier with some people and i don't feel like dealing with them

but only ever to people who i know just care about hearing the words with or without sentiment...

I'm always down for some co-misery over medical issues. There's no way I can work, especially since between my antidepressants making it nearly impossible to fall asleep when I want to and my narcolepsy putting me to sleep whenever it damn feels like, I'm generally on a quad-/quint-phasic sleep """schedule""" in 2-4 hour bursts where I'll have a narcoleptic attack, stumble to my bed three feet away as soon as I start going into microsleeps, and pass out for however long.

I can tell the difference between a narcoleptic attack and regular exhaustion/sleepiness the same way people with chronic migraines (which I also suffer from lol) can tell the difference between a regular headache and an oncoming migraine from the "aura."

Getting disability for it is shit though because it's not an "accepted" disability, and they want me to be on meds consistently for 3-5 months with limited success before applying for benefits. But meds are 350-550/month (modafinil or armodafinil are what work for me) and won't be covered without a proper sleep study diagnosing me, which affordable insurance won't cover and is $3700+ out of pocket. it's complete bs lol. i'm trying to get by on odd jobs and my crocheting shit for now but who knows how long that'll last...... I don't think I need to say "fucking american healthcare" because I'm pretty sure most of the people here are more than familiar with how shitty the system treats people, especially us

Kind OT but I don't know if I'm a celiac or just gluten intolerant. I read that celiac symptoms always show up before your 22nd birthday but I didn't notice mine until very recently and I'll be 24 in December. It's also apparently genetic but none of my family has it.

Anyway, eating large amounts of gluten make me feel like an organ exploded in my abdomen with a migraine and like I could throw up any second. Also chest pain and achey joints. Small traces give me a migraine and nausea. I've self diagnosed myself as a celiac in the meantime so I have an excuse not to eat gluten but I'll feel like a complete ass if my doctor tells me it's just intolerance after all the painful testing. Because most gluten "intolerant" people are trendy ignoramouses like Gwyneth Paltrow who say "LOL I cheat sometimes and it's nbd" even though I can't "cheat" without extreme pain.
>>
>>7031913
>after all the painful testing
It's just a fucking blood test. One fucking test. Go do, it takes less effort than a T-shot. AT least then you know and can stop being one of those "I'm a celiac but I've never been testet. Teehee" people.
>>
>>7031940
I don't think you know what celiac testing involves

After the blood test there's a biopsy if you test "positive" which doesn't necessarily mean you have it. They knock you out for it but afterwords you're left with stomach cramps and bloating.

Not only that but You have to eat large amounts of gluten every day for a week before both of these procedures so they can accurately diagnos, hence PAIN.
>>
>>7031121
the crotch (tm)
>>
>>7031952
The biopsy only happens if the bloodtest works out, and even then it's only a week of gluten before the blood test.

If the blood test is negative then your doctor can start ruling out all the other potential causes. It's more important to find exactly what it is (in case it's something with serious health implications) than to be afraid of a little bit of pain).

Not to mention it's important to have stuff like confirmed in your medical files in case you end up in the hospital later on.

Thanks for repeating everything I just said.

I went to the gastroenterologist last Friday so I know what has to happen. They don't do blood tests so I've got to schedule an appointment with a lab. It won't be until at least two weeks from now since I have to notify my boss abour scheduled time off. I'm not happy about the pain but I'm not a pussy about it either. Did I even mention once that I wasn't going to follow through with the testing? Not in my memory.

My health is under control, thanks Dr. Anon.
>>
>>7031999
>Thanks for repeating everything I just said.
Everything you said pointed towards avoid getting tested, actually.
>>
>>7031244

that's bullshit...

i'm in the fucked as far as disability goes group too, and since not enough research is being done there's not even really any treatment (if there was i'm sure it'd be like yours, too expensive) but i have to take all this shit that doesn't even really help to say i've done it... and then not all of it is covered so then it counts as me not trying everything (in spite of the fact that i have doctors saying there's no real treatment)

i don't even read about the shit i have, cuz i did once and got way too fucking depressed over reading shit like how the quality of life of people with aids (up until 2 weeks before their death), heart failure, and late stage cancer with chemo is better than what i can expect...

i'm like bad with this in the sense where i can't work and have bedbound days and weeks and months and shit where i can barely get to the bathroom, but i'm on the higher functioning end... and that scares the shit out of me to a point where i don't even want to learn more about what i have...

i know what you mean about the different kinds of tired cuz like fatigue feels different than just being tired... and like i've had panic attacks that have come from places that are definitely physical (i'll feel certain kinds of pain then get all the symptoms of a panic attack but my head will be clear and there's no calming down it has to just pass... it's weird, but i've had legit panic attacks before and it feels the same just without the anxiety) so i get what you mean about it being different when you've got shit wrong with you...

for me it's not sleep studies (my sleep is fucked i alternate between not being able to stay awake to not being able to sleep), but like neurologists and other specialists that i would need to pay for to probably get denied...
>>
>>7032013
I was just pointing out that it was painful because (You) or another anon told me the testing was a single painless blood test, not that I was scared or trying to avoid testing. The point of my first post was that I was worried I'm just intolerant so I'll be lumped in with the other assholes who claim they're intolerant but aren't.

Work on your reading comprehension.
>>
>>7032020
gluten intolerance is one alternative, but more likely you have IBS or something similar.
Being celiac is just as faggy as intolerance because nobody believes trend diagnosis anyway.

it's cool that you crochet... my mom does, and she's tried to teach me, my s/o, and my little bro how but none of us had the patience or could get the hang of it... she's made some cool shit though, it's kind of an underrated talent...

i can't have gluten due to the shit i have wrong with me... but it isn't celiac (i've been tested, my doctor needed to rule it out) and i get the same reactions to dairy and eggs... they all fuck me up for days too...

you should get that checked out though, cuz even if it's not celiac it could be a different health issue causing it... cuz i was fine with gluten 'til i got lyme, and now with the other shit i have i can't have it still... so if it's legit making you sick do an allergy test and rule out celiac and see if there's something else going wrong...

>Being [disease diagnosis] is just as [meaningless pejorative] as intolerance because nobody believes [almost meaningful pejorative] [disease diagnosis] anyway.

what?
>>
>>7032037
whether or not people "believe in" actual diseases or special diets meant to ease physical ailments is kinda their problem... i've sat through listening to plenty of people go on and on about people not wanting to eat gluten and being retarded about it (why does anyone care that much about what someone eats anyway?), doesn't change me getting sick when i've had some though... and i thoroughly tested that allergy... cuz i really didn't want that to be the case... i just made myself sick repeatedly with it to be sure pre-doctor only to be told it's a common allergy people with my health issues can develop...
>>
>>7032065

+ it really did initially sound like you were avoiding the testing... and honestly if it is celiac that's not a big deal as long as you keep avoiding gluten... do you feel ok when you don't eat it? cuz i never do... instead it just makes me feel worse...
>>
>>7032053
>>7032067
>I was worried I'm just intolerant so I'll be lumped in with the other assholes who claim they're intolerant but aren't.
Just as you'll be lumped in with 'celiacs' who claim to have the condition but doesn't. It's trendy to claim to be celiac (not to actually have the disease, but to claim it), and you're not going to sound less of a hypocrite by saying celiac than by saying intolerant.

You can compare it to claim to be ftm but be pre-t. No matter what you say, people will think transtrender until you prove them wrong.

I feel a million times better without gluten except I've been gaining weight pretty fast for some reason. I thought not eating stuff like bread and pasta would take pounds off but I guess not.

At least I wasn't fat to begin with.
>>
>>7032112
why should he give a shit about what anyone else thinks about his diagnosis? and how does being a hypocrite come into it at all

also, as someone who works in the bullshit hippy food industry, most people who go gluten free are fairly upfront about it being for dietary reasons
>>
>>7032112
Sometimes you have to stretch the truth in order to avoid puking all over the dinner table in public (I have actually thrown up after eating gluten, which would be a million times more embarrassing at a restaurant). There are actually people in food service who sneak gluten into "intolerant" peoples' food just to spite them.
http://gothamist.com/2011/03/31/chef_proudly_admits_lying_to_gluten.php
I'm sure this happens a lot but it's less likely to happen if you claim to have an actual medical condition (fyi - my doctor said it seems fairly likely I'm a celiac and actually ENCOURAGED me to do this)

Are you having a bad day? I don't know why you're so mad.
>>
>>7032128

well if you're eating a lot of gluten free shit that's replacement shit then it's usually more fattening and worse than just bread...

i don't really eat substitutes like occasionally cuz i'm craving something i'll have like gluten free bread if i can find it (sometimes gluten free shit isn't vegan so i'm still gonna get a fucked reaction and then it's not worth it) or i'll get like rice noodles or that pasta that's made with edamame or other shit along those lines...

but i usually stick to shit like oats or rice and corn tortillas ... if that (rice can fuck my stomach sometimes... not sure why) i mostly live off of fruit, vegetables, and nuts + seeds...

i've lost a little weight since this all happened (when i was active and vegetarian and eating bread and such i weighed a little more, not much more but i did) and when i get really sick i drop more cuz then i can't handle solid food... as is i pretty much binge eat on days i can have food which keeps me at about 108 lbs... i try to keep my weight up a little so losing weight during really bad flares isn't a huge deal...
>>
>>7032158

i just eat in asian places to avoid issues... they tend to just have a lot of vegan and gluten free options naturally...

or at home cuz my s/o cooks amazing food...
>>
>>7032175
I don't ever buy the gluten free bread or pasta. They taste like shit and Idk why but I can never cook the pasta without it turning goopy, even after following the directions.

I've been mostly living off stuff like dried beans and bananas lately because I'm trying to save money. Maybe it's the carbs in the beans or fruit sugar or something but I try not to eat a whole lot of them at once. I'm also a runner which has kept me skinny in the past so maybe it's just my body's reaction to being gluten-free.
>>
>>7032147
He was being insecure about how people would perceive the 'intolerance' part. Obviously he cares about what other people think.

>>7032158

>>
>>7032215
I'm only worried about it because I have a feeling servers at restaurants won't take me seriously.

And yes, I've said it and I'll say it again, I am getting a diagnosis.
>>
>>7032238
Arguments over petty shit have been a part of 4chan forever.
>>
>>7032191

the directions are shit for it, you can't actually follow them... i never have anyway, but i just kinda eyeball everything and don't measure so i have no way of giving directions...and my s/o used to get gluten free bread from this cafe/bar place he worked in...

so i've had good shit... but like... also shit asian rice noodles are good for a lot of shit and don't taste weird they're just naturally gluten free... and they're versatile, they have a neutral flavor...

idk i eat a lot of bananas, and idk... a ton of most shit really, can't run... i walk... like i get real high so i can and i walk a lot... occasionally if i have energy body weight exercises, but yeah... i usually can force myself to walk a bit as long as i'm high and other than like cleaning i'm doing shit like reading or playing guitar...

storms and rain fuck my shit up though... except yesterday, yesterday was the first time in a while i could go on a walk in the rain and be outside even though there was a storm

but i think that's only cuz of heroin... that's the only thing that was different... and when i came down last night everything with that went back to shit... and today is bad and it's rainy...

i wouldn't take it all the time, like i know that being sick just comes with having to put up with this shit sometimes... but that was a nice surprise not gonna lie...

might be both, but it isn't gonna necessarily make someone lose weight which is why it's kinda dumb as shit as a diet... but like i said the more people who think that it is a diet, the more likely places are to cater to it so that's good...

i don't really discuss it with people unless there's a reason to... and by then someone's probably seen me get lightheaded or look too pale or felt my hands or some shit... so it's pretty obvious shit's wrong

my s/o got scared the other day actually... and he's used to it by now, so you know... i imagine it's obvious and no one bothers me
>>
>>7032191

+ even people who find it annoying as a trend tend to understand when it's a health issue... in my experience anyway, then it's the they're talking shit just not about you thing...

but i mean... i also honestly don't give a shit what someone who cares about what other people do to that point thinks... and i don't care if some fat person wants to try a fad diet cuz they have food issues and shit wrong with them and lies about it either... neither of those things matter to me... cuz it takes severe mental or physical issues for someone to be really fat, and an inability to judge people individually if you're annoyed by everyone who either can't or doesn't eat a certain food... neither kinda person is worth being bothered by
>>
>>7032256

go to places with good health ratings or tend to just mostly have gluten free food... most people are cool with getting chinese food + my s/o worked in a place that served gluten free food, no one ever fucked with it... a lot of workers don't fuck with food and are heavily watched with strict guidelines... just try to avoid sketchy places and not be an asshole when you order food... a lot of places have options for allergies and shit anyway...

your shit doesn't even have to come up to anyone depending on where you eat though...

i'm really bad at knowing when someone likes me... it's cuz i'm the kinda person who if i have friends who are touchy i'm alright with it like if they wanna hold hands or cuddle or get touchy i'm whatever about it and i don't equate it with someone being interested in me... so i just don't notice until someone is just completely fucking blunt about it, and even then i might take it as a joke at first

all of my close friends from hs on except one (i know he thinks i'm attractive, but it's just not at all like that) have told me they were in love with me or wanted to fuck around at some point during the friendship... so i suppose i have no reason to be surprised when it happens, but i always am...

assuming you're not as stupid as me you might have an easier time just paying attention to shit like the way she is with you physically in relation to how she is with other people (i don't notice things like that cuz i've literally just had random strangers walk up to me and run their fingers through my hair or get too close on top of so many just friends and coworkers getting like that... so physical stuff doesn't register as this like meaningful thing cuz that tends to be how people just are with me, but it can be... especially if they aren't like that with other people)

and the shit she says and whatnot... idk what your friendship is like though...

but as long as you aren't weird about it, simce you've known each other for so long and know she's bi if you just made a move and said something then it should probably go well... shit like that is only awkward if you make it awkward

>>7034087
