>>
>>6985329
because our bodies are hideous prisons that eat at our souls and estrogen is a poison that destroys our ability to be happy
we don't 'want' to be guys, we are guys trapped within a hell you could never imagine
>>
>>6978579
Im gay. How do i get a ftm boyfriend? (without bottom surgury and doesnt want it). I love hairy masculine guys and really like men, but i think a guy with a vagina would be an ideal partner for me.
>>
>>6985420
1. trans men aren't just vaginae, don't assume they are
2. a lot of trans men really don't want anyone touching their genitals though this is individual and some are really okay with it
3. okcupid might work, tinder, grindr, basically anything you'd meet another guy on
4. a lot of trans people in general are really sensitive about what they consider fetishism so keep that in mind
>>
>>6985437
Yeah I know about the fetishism thing. Was kinda scared posting here because maybe y'all would call me a chaser and stuff then i remembered that this is an anonymous anime image board.

The vagina thing i knew about too, which is why i clarified that they must not have or want bottom surgury.

>What i didnt realize
Is the part about them not liking getting thier genitals touched.
Should i clarify that before i meet them that i would like vaginal penetration/to eat them out? Would that make me seem creepy?
>>
Just curious (I'm honestly clueless about this): how do FtMs feel about MtFs?

would an ftm consider dating an mtf girl ???

asking for a friend..........................
>>
>>6985462
you should definitely make it clear at the first possible stage that you want to be involved with his genitals
the ones who have really severe dysphoria and don't want those parts acknowledged at all are generally the ones seeking bottom surgery, but some in that category still don't want bottom surgery for various reasons so it's not a guarantee
>>6985490
i have no problem with them in the abstract and think many of them are cute but also many of them are bitches

>>
>>6983771

i ended up not going, i'm just gonna wait until after i move to go to a doctor if possible cuz i'm leaving here tomorrow...

anyway, i had other shit to do, you didn't get me banned, you just had posts deleted... and honestly? if you dislike me around here so much, it's all yours, not cuz you misgendered me and decided to do weird shit like report posts in a general that were just me telling people i speak to frequently i might be going to the hospital... but cuz looking around it looks like this is more your kinda place right now than mine...

enjoy
>>
>>6985501
depends on the individual. i would absolutely consider dating a trans girl if i wasn't already involved with someone.
>>
this question was in the other thread but i liked it a lot: how did you guys choose your male names?

for me i knew there was no way in hell i was going to get my family and the bulk of my coworkers to call me by an entirely new name, and with my own memory problems odds are i'd forget to sign things with it, so i just changed a letter in my birth name. it was already a name that could be masc or femme depending on spelling, so it worked out.
>>
What's with all the trans women and genderqueer MAAB people coming in this thread and asking us why we wanna be men lately?

>>6985490

In general? Nothing. I don't judge people by their genders.

>>6985501

Plenty of guys would but I am aromantic.

>>6986329

I looked for the origin of my birth name. It's gaelic. I then looked for names of gaelic origin that begin with the same letter.
>>
>>6986329
Rules are very strict on what names I can choose here so I just looked at the list of already accepted stuff and chose something that looked okay from there. The downside is that pretty much every other trans guy here is called that, but it's a normal name too so whatever.
>>
I'm thinking of getting into goth fashion. It'd probably upset my folks but it's cheaper than buying pastels and it's cute. Sadly, men's goth fashion is... interesting.
>>
>>6985684
>many of them (at least on here) breddy much detest us.
Really? I've never noticed that before.
>>
>>6986329
i originally chose an aiden type name when i came out at 13 but everyone agreed it was ridiculous, so one of the many therapists i saw in the first few months gave me the short version of my name and it's the one i use in daily life
i picked the long version myself because it was my favourite variant and my middle name for a singer i liked at the time, though now i think my middle name is kind of ridiculous and wish my more reasonable choices weren't shot down by my parents -- if i were cis my middle name stood a high chance of being archimedes, apparently
>>6986336
the ones who ask do so because they don't truly understand dyphoria they're just disgusting fetishists who want to be women when they aren't :^)
>>
>>6986380
oh really? i didn't realize other people's parents did the greek middle name thing. my birth middle name is actually pandora and im thinking of changing it to icarus.
>>
Marc Anthony is gay, right? His music and music videos are pretty straight though. Do people impose this on gay artists? Would it not be profitable to have a music video full of gay men or sing a song about a lesbian romance?

I have heard of one or two openly ftm artists but I think they're all straight.
>>
>>6986418

How often do people change their middle names?

I have a girly middle name but I don't want to change it. Plenty of guys have feminine middle names anyway. Personally, I probably wouldn't change my given name either if more men had girly names. It's a fine name even if it's feminine. Alas, a man with a woman's name gets stared at or laughed at.
>>
>>6986442
im not sure how often people change middle names, but i know i want to change mine just bc i used to go by it in high school and it's got some unhappy memories tied to it

figured as long as im changing names, two birds one stone and all that
>>
>>6986442
middle names are fun and i recommend them
i don't hear much discussion of middle names in a trans context but they're important even if it's only to you
>>
>>6983288
>hippy psuedoscience

>>
>>6986504

My 'middle name' is just my mother's surname, as if my parents forgot to put in a hyphen. It really annoys me desu, because my siblings share it too and so I basically have no middle name.
It's something that could double as a gender-neutral first name, too, and I considered going by it in high school, but the fact that I share it with the rest of my family made it seem weird. I'm jelly of people with real middle names, you gotta give a kid options.

i actually like that name. not too masc but not too femme either, the kinda name that reinforces whatever kind of person you are. i can see it working for a manly guy or a smaller bookish type. basically, you can be whatever kind of guy you want with a name like that. good choice.
>>
>>6988547
I have no drop of Hispanic or Spanish blood in my veins so I'll stick with my pasty white person name lol. I took my grandfather's name essentially. I was close with my grandparents growing up but my grandpa died of cancer when I was 5. So it seemed like a good way to honor him.

Also I really can't bring myself to pick a name at random just cause I like the spund of it. I want it to have some sort of sentimental value to it.

Is it true that T can affect your heart like it does with bodybuilders? Do transmen have a higher rate of heart attacks? What if you have a weak heart or have hereditary conditions? Does T make it worse?
>>
>>6991369
Yes to all of that. It increases the risk of diabetes too. But your doctor will regularly monitor your blood pressure and t-levels, and if you eat and exercise well you'll be ok. Avoid caffeine probably.
>>
>>6991369
it makes your risk identical to a cis man with all the same risk factors as you
not higher than that

sup, /ftmg/
as everyone knows, adult men have M-shaped hairlines and that is not the same thing as a receding hairline
how does one tell the difference between t giving you an M-shaped hairline and male pattern baldness?
how does one treat the former if you have no source of income? not an exaggeration, i live on a strict budget of $0.00 -- can't work because disabled, can't get disability because government is more interested in preventing 'welfare fraud' than preventing people from starving to death
>>

self-medding generally isn't like that and really isn't dangerous
i don't get why ftm communities tend to be so vocally anti-self-med, the only increased risk is the legal one and that's still pretty small

Self medding can actually be really bad if you don't regularly have blood tests. It can cause polycythemia. Which can cause heart attacks, blood clots, strokes, and hemorrhages.

I dunno whether to switch bathrooms yet. My therapist says I'm passing but my family is telling me to keep using the women's room. I'm avoiding public restrooms but sometimes I really have to pee when I'm at the store.

Do it. No one asks questions in there they just do their own thing, and your family is probably the last people who will give up the female you.

You can get in trouble for being a guy in a girls bathroom but not much the opposite way

I wouldn't trust your family's opinion 100%. They've known you your entire life and probably don't really want you to "change" or whatever people always complain about. That, and because they've always known you, they'll still see anything even slightly feminine looking.

People in the men's bathroom don't even look at each other anyways like women do, so even if you look in between, they're not likely to notice. Or you can try to enter a women's bathroom and look at their reactions. I thought I didn't pass either but started getting weird looks at some point.

I just read that some planned parenthood clinics in florida are offering HRT for trans people. Dunno if they're doing informed consent or if you need a letter.

This is pretty great because I was driving two hours to Ft Lauderdale for my T.

How do you stand binding in that heat?
>>
>>6997188
Only some of them did and mostly in the northeast. I'm glad more of them are offering it.

>>6997190
It's not as bad if you grew up here, you are used to it being so hot. But hopefully I won't be binding by next summer.
>>
>>6997190
i live in australia, have abnormal heat sensitivity, and have been binding on a regular basis for almost four years
you get used to it
>>

i imagine it's not bad when you live somewhere for a while... like i have family that moved to florida and now they bitch about it freezing when they visit ny and shit when it's not even close to it... your body just kinda adjusts

exactly, it's unidentifiable as a trans name
ftm visibility will be the death of ftm passability and you don't want to be named aiden or skylar when that happens but you also don't want to have a more subtly ftm name like oliver or lucas
if half the males in your family are named michael and that's why you don't want it, pick one of the following:
matthew
peter
jack
nathan
william
james
all common amongst such a wide range of ages and social classes in the anglosphere that you will be fine, but with different enough styles that you can individualize

Is Elijah a stereotypical ftm name? I picked it because my brothers have bible names.
>>
>>6997486
it does seem overrepresented amongst our demographic but if the names your brothers have are of a similar style it makes sense
elijah is a very young-skewing name and toddlers have the same names ftms do for the most part
if your brothers' names are along the names of jonah and isaac it checks out but if they're more like simon and john, not so much
>>
>>6997486
If it fits it sits. What are your brother's names if you don't mind me asking? Elijah doesn't sound snowflake to me.
>>
>>6997495
They're James and Paul.

Looking for some binder advice. Right now I have a GC2B in small, which is a little too big for me. I've tried the extra-small, but I physically can't get it on. I want to try out an underworks binder next; what model/size should I get?
>>
>>6997486
I think it's a really good name. I do know one trans Eli, but I think it's short for Elias or something. Most people wouldn't think anything of it.
>>
>>6997633
if he's sorta hispanic-looking he could even go with Jesus
>>
>>6997634

i've had underworks for years and recently got gc2b and prefer it over underworks...

i've used xs in both, underworks seems to run a bit bigger (this was my problem with them actually, so that might be good for you) like their xs is bigger than gc2b, but probably not an entire size up (idk though i've only gotten xs binders) underworks is less comfortable though...

i only use the kind that don't go the whole way down... cuz i imagine that shit is crazy uncomfortable and touches too much...
>>
>>6997644

yeah that too...no one would even think twice about that one, though i've only ever met one jesus...

there's a shitton of acceptable, normal, bible names...

How do you combine long term traveling with T-injections? Can you take shots that last longer or do you have to take vials and needles with you? I can imagine the latter creating hell when crossing borders.

I'm thinking more in 3.world countries where a doctor's note won't mean much. Seeing how T is a very controlled substance I'm worried it will become a problem when border guards find vials and don't speak English. It will suck to only be able to travel a few weeks at a time, or have to limit myself to a few countries because of injections. I was just wondering if anyone had experience with it.

just took one for you... my s/o set up their play area this morning in our bedroom so they can all fly around (gypsy is the only one who can fly in the rest of the house), they're really happy with it...

they honestly don't seem to care where they are as long as they're with us and each other...

and it's been an easy transition for me... spent so much of my life in brooklyn, and the apartment building i'm in is one i've been in since i was a kid...

this is the first time i've lived in this building, but my cousin lives downstairs and has his whole life... so i grew up playing in the hallway and on this block and shit, i'm at the edge of the neighborhood i'm actually from... so i'm familiar with the entire area and shit, so it just feels like i was on a weird extended vacation...

I don't get why I can't come out. I've had numerous chances but I always cop out. Be it writing letters or talking face-to-face, I can't do it to my family. My mom even asked me if I felt trans once or twice and I declined. I don't know if I'm a chicken or if it's my brain telling me I'm cis.

np... i was gonna take a million pics anyway

she just likes spreading her wings and flapping to get completely soaked...

she has been, she seems to like it better here, but it's not surprising cuz our old roommate had too many dogs so she couldn't come out the way she can here... it was annoying and would depend on where the dogs were, which ones were there etc

whereas here it's just our birds and my bro's cat, and they get along... well and our fish, but she doesn't count...

only thing that sucks is i'm desperate to go outside, but my body just won't even kinda cooperate...

>>6998441

i honestly don't count caffeine really... it's mild and different...

i liked uppers when i was younger, like 13 and 14 but at around 15 or 16 bad anxiety hit and i haven't been able to enjoy them since... doesn't help having ocd on top of that... they just make me weird and anxious and too wired and such now

other than coffee and tea i stay away from them now...

i've had coke a couple times... never by itself, it's not my least worst thing i've ever had, but i didn't like it much... i don't know if i'd do it again

i wanna say nah, but if it came up maybe

i like downers personally... and as fucked as it sounds out of everything i've ever taken i've liked heroin the best...

I chose something similar to my birthname. I was going to use what my mom would have named me if I had been male, because I think its nice to be respectful of your parents in that way, but I really didn't like the name she would have given me. I don't feel like a Robert.
>>
Why is doubt such a big part of this? I used to have so many doubts about whether I was really trans but as time goes on it's like I'm more and more sure that I am making the right choice and that I'd never, ever want to go back.
>>
>>6998067
Bring prescriptions. Have your do write up a set for you. You should be able to carry up to a 90 day supply.
>>
>>6998933
Like any major life altering decision, there's probably going to be some anxiety. You know now that you made the right choice, so why worry about it?
>>
>>6998933
me too. if i hadn't been able to hear similar experiences of other trans people online, i might not have been able to reconcile my doubts at all. i think a part of it is just that being trans seems so illogical at first glance--there's (usually) nothing inherently wrong with your body, so changing it so drastically can be terrifying. also, habit and social expectations can be stronger forces than you'd think.
>>
>>6998962
Not really worrying about it, more like just wondering.

>>6998992
Yeah, unfortunately. Then again, I'm still not very far yet and there's still a shitton of pressure to stop this "nonsense" and be a girl coming at me from almost all sides.

i take them for recreation and to function...

i started taking oxys when i was 15, my s/o's mom gave them to me... i've taken opiates on/off since then, last time was back in august but i'm probably gonna pick some up soon... idk when i first tried benzos, i've taken plenty but i don't remember a first time or even a time frame for it... just some blurs and points where i've taken a lot of them and mixing them with alcohol and opiates and weed and whatever...

never sold drugs before... stolen them yeah, but never sold them...

Is this something one should worry about when choosing a name?
The name I was gonna go with wasn't unheard of in my birth year, but it did shoot up in popularity over the past decade or so.
I like the name and all, but I was worried that it might sound anachronistic, or like a name you'd expect a toddler to have.

Ok. That's reassuring.

Also, over the summer I had a bunch of people mistake me for being ~5 years younger than I am, so I guess that's even more reason to not worry about having a young-sounding name.

I tried citalopram and Zoloft (?) first. They made me freak out real bad or just sick. If they make you sick tell your dr. I never felt sick on effexor, not even at first. But god forbid you forget a daily dose and you'll feel really awful.

The other meds i take with it are a weak cholesterol med daily, and attivan when i need it. Then just vitamins and supplements. And testosterone shots.

We might not have similar responses if citalopram messed with you and didn't scratch me. Though I don't doubt the withdrawal will likely be messy, hopefully I don't forget a dose even though I never usually eat in the mornings which is how I'm supposed to take it.

>>
>>6998591

Total bullshit. I was sticking with her up to a point, but once she says that transition "actually made detransitioners feel worse,zomg!!1!" as if that indicates anything other than "they were never Frans in the first place," I'm done.
Even prior to that, for her to say that socially transitioning creates pressure to medically transition is just ridiculous. It's a lot easier to just say "sorry guys, my bad," than to fucking go through hrt and possible surgeries. What fucking nonsense. I'm not saying admitting one was mistaken would be easy after all that (though of course a good therapist should make their patient feel like turning back is a valid option), but it's fuckloads easier than medical transition.
Also ridiculous is her insinuation that social transition is generally followed by medical transition as a result of social pressure to throw good money after bad (what about all the social pressure to stay as one's births sex?) rather than a result of social transition confirming someone's feelings and comfort as the opposite sex.
